The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.I don't care for the game, but there's no denying that having it on the Switch would be big for many reasons.
If developers are willing to downscale their games to run on the system, it means they see it as a viable platform to support with even their biggest titles.
So we talking pocket edition, or a spin-off like the FF XII game on the DS?
Hopefully neither. Pocket's art style is horrendous, and a spinoff would feel like just that: porting a lower specced version of the main game's ideal.
There's no reason why the Switch couldn't handle a slightly downgraded version of XV.
Honestly, the Switch could probably handle XV as it is (albeit only when docked).
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeTo that last point:
NOOOPE, you overestimate the Switch. Needs a nerf to fit the system's graphical capabilities, even docked. Too many pretties on the screen, and it would take quite some work to make cutting it down look good with the realistic art style. Not impossible, but it would need cuts.
Also, the game's file size is fairly large on PS 4 and XBO (~60+ GB, not in front of my PS 4 right now) and PC (170 GB, but that's due to 4K support and 5 dubs). I don't think that fits on any cartridges available.

oh right whups. i wasnt overestimating the switch so much as i was underestimating XV's sheer amount of assets
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeHoly crap, 170GB, really? I already stopped giving a damn about Final Fantasy ever since 13, but that just really takes the cake. Game developers really need to start focusing on optimizing and cutting bloat, because a single game should not be taking up over 100GB (unless it's a Bethesda game and I have tons of mods).
I've said this twice before, but Rule of Three I guess.
99% of a game's file size are art assets and uncompressed audio/textures.
The PC version has 4K support and 5 dubs. 4K is 4 times the size of 1080p and requires more detailed textures to look good. Also, prerendered cutscenes in 4K.
Audio being uncompressed makes it load a little faster, squeezing out some extra performance. 5 dubs because it's an international, AAA game with full voice acting.

Seems you could cut down on a lot of file size by making the other dubs optional downloads.

That would be an excellent idea. Hell, they could make it cheap DLC (say a dollar each) if they need to justify it to the execs. I'm sure lots of people would be happy to shell out a dollar to listen to the game in their favorite foreign language.
A possibility yeah.
But the point is more that the Switch isn't going to run a game that the base PS 4 can barely handle without major cuts. The file size thing was more of an aside.
It better not be the pocket version unless that gets severe upgrades for Switch.
I'd prefer to see XIV on the Switch than XV to be honest.
This song needs more love.Added voicover languages as free or cheap DLC seems like a good idea.
As for the artwork...if there's an actual game attached to it, I'm buying it because it's freaking Monolith. I've enjoyed everything of theirs I've played, to varying degreesnote , so if they decide to try something new, I'm all for it.

On a personal level I agree. I don't care about XV and honestly anything that would help its hype die faster would make me happier.
But on a pragmatic level I'd love to see XV on the Switch for the kind of message it would send to especially western developers - yes, your big budget, HD triple A games can work on the Switch.
A bigger audience and install base can only help the system, and while XV doesn't preclude XIV from being released on it, the former's going to sell more copies than the latter easily.
I'd rather they port over Dragon Quest X over Final Fantasy XIV, even though I love XIV...
I imagine if they make a Switch port of XV, they'll probably do what they did for Pocket and touch it up for the system. Though to be honest, I'm expecting some sort of spin-off instead.
Rocket League Switch will have exclusive cars themed after Mario, Luigi, and Samus' Gunship.
I just got Implosion today. I'm on Chapter 2, but I don't know how many chapters there are, so I'm not sure how far in that is. Definitely enjoying it, though.

I believe I've determined the block list cap for the Switch: 100. And yet I still have many more people to block.
Why are you blocking so many people?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Splatoon 2 pubs. That is all. You'd be appalled to know how much incompetence can dwell in there.
At that point, why even play in public games? For like any game ever?
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.
Two pictures of the girl combined. It's not perfect because the two pictures were slightly different from each other, oddly enough, but there ya go.
