... OK, now I'm very curious as to why they changed their minds like this. Sounds like it came totally out of the blue from the perspective of company outsiders like us fans of the series and guys like the article's writer.

If I can offer my perspective, IMO Koei-Tecmo kinda backed themselves into a corner with Marie Rose. While I personally don't have much of a problem with her, she definitely looks too young to be sexualized like she is to the average person here. If she was the cover girl here, people would probably be crying "KT are pedophiles" or something of that nature; while if KT modified the game to take Marie out, others would be crying over "censorship". They literally are in a no-win situation here in the West, so we're probably not gonna get the game. Sucks, but them's the breaks.

Its like small framed petite adult females don't exist in the West.

Maybe it's some sort of popularity gambit? Because the Asian version is totally gonna be in English and at least the PS4 can play them...

First they came for the weebs, and I did not speak out because I wasn't a weeb.

Then they came for the hardcore gamers, and I did not speak out because I couldn't git gud.

Then they came for the AAA games, and I did not speak out because fuck EA.

And then they came for me, and there was nobody left to speak for me.

I know I'm inviting flames by asking this, but was anyone in the West really going to complain about another anime titty game? Not sure how many people, even among the "outrage police" would really care.

The girls actually do sexual stuff -as in SEX with each other-... and if there are guys... well its no longer beach volleyball its a dating sim. -Suddenly the Kasumix Ryu fans come out of the woodwork-

So something truly risque or something that changes the way the game works.

But really, what if Tecmo-Koei made it so that this Marie Rose was, I don't know, Older Than She Looks? Or make her optional DLC? Or do what Nintendo/Monolith did for one of the characters in Xenoblade Chronicles X and make her clothing more decent?

Well if I bought this game, I'd totally take making Marie more modest over a total no release for the game...

They announced back in August that there were no plans to release the game in the west.

Because nobody really cares about the Xtreme Beach Volleyball series. The first two games got middling-to-poor reviews and didn't sell well.

it did sell better in the west though. Japan have a bunch of these type of games. Not so in the west. Also hi everyone. Who is your main in the series? Mine is Tina and Lisa.

Didn't they get Eri Kitajima to promote the original Volley ball in japan...

If memory serves me write, the game sold double the amount in the America than it did Japan. And it was on the Xbox when it was sold, a console where that type of game wouldn't sell well in Japan anyway. Also, have the old ad that marketed the game back in the day.

I miss that those type of commercials. It not wrong either. They a sense of humor about themselves.

Where would they show that kind of commercial? On stuff like [adult swim]?

Well that depends. They might release it here. People do want it. They stand by the main series. I would pick it up.

I'd say if they just gave her a more modest appearance, they might be fine. I mean, it's not like they're at risk of going bankrupt or anything. (Are they?)

FFS this pisses me off so much, seriously, As much as I like fanservice games it really is the only damn volleyball game worth anything ever.

Someone really needs to license this thing, the cost of importing it is just way too damn much looking at $100+.

Tecmo Koei, you were once my fav publisher but I will hate you forever for this.
