And here I thought the Pale Man was the creepiest Del Toro had made...
I didn't really understand the premise. Is the house supposed to be haunted already, or is one of the main characters a ghost, or are there different kinds of creatures who can change from ghosts to living beings and vice-versa...
Then again, it's only a trailer. It might be interesting. Also, in terms of special effects, it's fairly subdued in regards to Guillermo's filmography. Perhaps it's designed to help him get funds for Pacific Rim 2 and Hellboy 3?

Poster◊, taking the whole blue/orange thing to a new extreme but it's rather awesome.
Official synopsis:
So I assume the siblings have some sort of Dark Secret going on. Jim Beaver is playing Mia's character's dad and it looked like he got a rather unpleasant visit of some sort, spectral or otherwise.
Ah ok, it makes more sense now. Thank you.

Saw the most recent trailer on iMDB.
Well, Mr. del Toro, you certainly caught my attention.
On a different topic, wouldn't it have been darkly funny if any of the trailers was just Guillermo del Toro walking around the set and talking about CP a la the trailer for Psycho?
But yeah, I read how they already wrecked the set to make space or something.
Eh, life goes on.

Bump.
Ok, isn't there anything that anyone wants to talk about regarding this movie?
How about how the leads were going to be Benedict Cumberbatch and Emma Stone?
I'll admit, that'd be pretty interesting to see, but can Emma Stone really pull off a British accent?

I'm interested in the movie and the guy I've gone on a few dates with is excited to see it to.
But, other than that, I've nothing really further to comment.
I don't care about Cumberbatch. At all.
I think the casting for this is perfect, especially Mia Wasikowska and Tom Hiddleston.

In other odd Del Toro news, what exactly is this "Wall-E meets Splash" project that he could be working on?
Bump.
Guillermo Del Toro talks about turning Crimson Peak into a maze for this year's Halloween Horror Nights...which is kinda weird because all the ads and marketing seem more fixated on Freddy Vs Jason, Insidious, and The Walking Dead.
New clip. Frosty.
Mia W. seems very game, though.
I think maybe Del Toro should perhaps try to dial down on the projects just a wee bit -~-
He has a tendency to juggle a few balls too many and then stuff gets dropped.
Maybe he takes up so many projects BECAUSE so many of them end up cancelled. Assuming that 4 of 5 projects get dropped, then at least one would go through as opposed to doing one or two at a time and they get axed.
But, HOLY SHIT, if this is what we have to look forward to in his Haunted Mansion film? YES PLZ
I thought he was off of that...
I'm looking it up and I'm seeing articles dated as early as just a few hours ago with his name on the project so...
A whole mess of featurettes and some tv-spots that both have some new clips that red guy really doesn't look terribly pleasant
Also, early impressions have been very good

I choose to look at this film as a pre-trial for his upcoming Haunted Mansion, which despite the post above, is still in production.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.I don't. Apparently this is a romance movie that happens to have ghosts. I kind of expect the Haunted Mansion movie to be about ghosts. Also, this is rated R and I somehow doubt the other project will be.
Supposedly, the first pass of his Haunted Mansion script was just as creepy and disturbing as his other work and it still was rather successful with Disney execs. I could see it coming out with a PG-13 that pushes that rating for all its worth.
I am so, so excited for this movie. Apparently it's more romantic and the horror is secondary? And also, apparently the film is very driven by Edith (Mia Wasikowska) and Lucille (Jessica Chastain) which I think should be fascinating.
Also, Hiddleston is very proud about being naked. I... I approve.
I'm really curious as to how they'll balance having it be 'ROMANCE' first and Horror second??? What does that mean?!?!
All I want to know is does the dog die and is it graphic.
(I have priorities.)
i. hear. a. sound.I don't... Think there's a dog?
Reviews are in. It seems pretty positive so far. Though complaints are that the story isn't nearly as detailed as its elaborate sets, the characters can feel a bit archytypal at times, and it leans havily towards th 'Gothic' part and little on the 'Romance' part.
This looks like Burton with all the goofy completely drained out of it i.e. absolutely perfect.
