Sent ya a message a while ago, but thanks for the assist.
That's almost the opposite of how I run my characters: they tend to develop in ways I didn't foresee when I first write them, so the starting information tends to be sparser, and they pick up quirks and traits as they go.
I'm wondering if we'll have the wherewithal to support an F-18 and its associated logistical tail. It feels rather high-tech for a bush war without official involvement, especially if we're running secondhand tanks and artillery pieces.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.Only way for that to appear is with the regular Air Force.
Aye. I'm just wondering what our zoomie is going to end up flying. Personally, I'm wondering if she'll reveal that she's actually a Swedish count(ess), then strap rocket pods to a flight of bushplanes.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three. The writeup the person did for Harrawi was that they were modernizing their Soviet-made equipment for the military. I don't know, but best chance would be an old, but working MiG or a Sukhoi provided from a pro-Soviet/Russia state like India or maybe from Eastern Europe. Maybe even one of the old Skyhawks out there.
This should be interesting. If a pilot knows how to fly one bird but not another, Hilarity Ensues.
—>Soldier: Get this plane in the air. —>Brittaney: I'm trying, but the instructions are all in cryllic. Anyone read Russian?
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursWell hopefully I'll try to avoid those, yeah?
Hey, if you get an ex-Polish warbird, Amelia can help!
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.Almost done setting up the RP thread soon. Though I'm not sure if I should draw a map of the base anyway.
If I do, warning that it's not up to scale.
Sure, Why Not?? If we're going for detail and accuracy then it'd be great to have a reference point for the base and area of operations.
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursAlright. I'll have to do this once I get back to the house from brunch later on.
Hmmm, I like the idea.
More important than a map, I feel, would be a description of the place: distances to other logistical hubs, surrounding terrain (both geographical and human), location in the strategic big picture, and all of that. A basemap would really only be important if the shit hits the fan and we need to deal with sappers in the wire in the middle of the night, Camp Bastion-style.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.I'll take that to consideration.
Just note that the latter part will be up once the RP is underway, with the exception of notable strategic places. Don't wanna spoil some stuff.
Going to move all in-game discussions here since it's already up. I'll ask someone with admin powers to shut this.
Got a request to close this thread. Complying.
