These kind of misused entries can simply be removed. Not really a TRS issue.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'm not sure I see a notable difference between Hitler being an alien, and an alien residing in him and/or directly controlling him.
Manipulation is a bit different, though.
Check out my fanfiction!Hmmm, y'know, on closer inspection, while the description does seem to state that Hitler is explicitly a supernatural or alien entity of some kind, the implication that WWII was the cause of outside influences may be the core concept. If the latter, perhaps a mild rewrite is in order, clarifying that manipulation/possession by malign intelligences also counts.
EDIT: Screw it, I went ahead and added a clarification anyway. It's only one sentence, so it can be easily reverted if I jumped the gun a bit.

Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...Honestly, I'd leave the Unfortunate Implications bit out of it. And yes, I know it was there from the beginning, but that's one of those tropes I don't think should be linked without specific and verified examples.
Check out my fanfiction! The change seems good to me, and yeah I think the UI pothole should probably be dumped.
Dumped. Just didn't want to do it unilaterally.
Check out my fanfiction!I feel like this trope might be too specific, as we already have the more general Beethoven Was an Alien Spy.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? It's a common subtrope. Hitler is a special kind of evil in most fiction, and often to the point he can't even be human.
Check out my fanfiction! What he said. Hitler being the source of all evil happens all the time.
That and the title makes me laugh, so I'm in favour of keeping it :D

Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...I understand that, I just feel like this one is The Same But More Specific.
The title is very non-indicative (and if I'm correct in what I remember of the song it's referencing doesn't even have to do with the trope content) and I don't see why it shouldn't be changed if we're keeping the trope..
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?LEAVE THE TITLE ALONE.
A) It sums up the core concept of the trope, that being that Hitler wasn't our fault because he was an interdimensional horror/a space alien/possessed by a ghost/the Devil, etc.
B)It really doesn't matter what the song the name is taken from was originally about. (Actually, what the hell is that song about anyway?)
C)It only takes a cursory reading of the first paragraph to grasp the meaning of the title. Sometimes the best titles are the ones that grab your attention so that you want to see what the trope is about. This is why Demonic Spiders was never changed.
D)It's funny as hell.
That and the original issue of this thread has been taken care of.
EDIT: I agree that the trope is pretty much The Same But More Specific, but we have lots of tropes like that, and Hitler does warrant his own personal variation given that he's the biggest recipient of Historical Villain Upgrade there is.

Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...Seems decent, I think we only need the thread to stay if there's a small wick cleaning project that we want to start.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Clock is set. This thread seems to be mostly done to me, anyhow.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOK, clock is up with no progress; closing.

This trope is about Hitler actually being a supernatural or alien creature, or otherwise being something other than human. However, there are quite a few examples that are just about Hitler being possessed, or manipulated by otherworldly forces, instead of being one himself. This seems to fall more in line with Weird Historical War or something along those lines. It's clearly not the intended use of the trope as it's currently written, as it pretty clearly states that Hitler is an actual supernatural or otherworldly force of evil in this trope.
