Eurogamer rumor: Sources indicate Nintendo is developing a Super NES mini for Holiday 2017.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Oh dear. My pre-emptive sympathies to every electronics-retailer cashier on the globe, you didn't deserve this impending carnage.
I read about that on IGN when I woke up.
2 things:
1) Anyone think this collection might have Chrono Trigger and/or Secret of Mana?
2) If this is going to be an annual thing, should we expect a Nintendo 64 Classic Edition next year? Or would that be pushing it?
I kinda hope this is real, and that I probably could get my hands on it.

Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*Well, the Switch will probably be discontinued by then, so they need to have something on the shelves for the holidays.
Clearly, Nintendo is dooooooooooooooomed
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyDoes that mean we'll get a Mini-64 for Holiday 2018?
NES Mini was successful and discontinued after 5 months. The Switch is successful, so I expect it to follow a similar trend.
....You're joking right? Please tell me you just forgot to put Joking Mode in your post....
The NES Classic was just something to hold Nintendo over between the Wii U and the Switch, if I remember correctly. The Switch is Nintendo's actual newest major console, not merely just a novelty. There's a huge difference there, and, pardon my bluntness, but assuming that they're planning on doing the same thing to the Switch that they did to the NES Classic, in all seriousness, is just...idiotic. I'm sorry.

"Lucian, don’t be afraid, we’ll make it through this."I mean c'mon, dude. It sounds like has Nintendo more figured out than you. Of course the Switch is being discontinued.
I also totally believe this is actually gonna be a thing.

Assuming Sterok isn't joking, I agree that the treatment of the NES Classic doesn't paint a good image of the Switch.
And discontinuing the NES Classic to justify Switch VC doesn't make sense! Would Sega have discontinued Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection due to the Plug and Play Genesis?
(Okay, maybe Sega can be that stupid thanks to said P&P Genesis not having S3&K, but still)
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. The obvious answer is usually the correct one.
If the SNES Mini exists this year, I'd expect the stock situation to be better since it probably exists as a product meant to sell rather than an emergency stopgap for the holidays.
Do we know that's why the NES Classic was discontinued? I assumed they wanted to stop producing it to put the production capacity towards the Switch, myself.
And if we get one new mini console a year, that'll put us on pace to get a mini version of the Switch itself in 2022.

Never be normal.I thought they discontinued it to make way for the SNES Classic.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*Putting a pothole to Joking Mode in your joke kinda ruins it.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Better to have a ruined joke than have someone miss the sarcasm.
If you're going to ruin a joke pre-emptively by telling everyone it's a joke I don't see the point in telling it.
Anyway, I genuinely don't get the appeal of these things. Feels like just more stuff to have cluttering up your living space and it's a hassle having to plug it into your TV and unplug any consoles you already might have hooked up to it.

I mean, with the NES classic, we essentially got 30 remasters. They could play on emulator, but not everyone wants to do that because that actually is piracy.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*If they come out with Star Fox SNES, then there will certainly be more merit; there hasn't been a Star Fox 1 VC release as of now.
"Remasters"
For as much as you can remaster 8 bit video games.
So this guy invented the analog stick, huh?

Indeed.
Personally, I really like EXTRA Saber so it makes me no never mind. Of course, I absolutely love Fate/EXTRA so hey. That being said, EXTRA Caster is the best and no one can convince me otherwise.
