General Nintendo thread

This. Nintendo are the only ones making the types of games I like anymore (Sony stopped making them after the PS 2, and Microsoft after the Original Xbox). The more colourful, cartoony, Japanese-style, gameplay-focused games that focus on fun above all else. It's a shame most of their games get **** on by the Western mainstream gamers/gaming media now.

That, and Nintendo seems to have attracted the worst lawyers in existence. Shot themselves in the foot in the 90s, up to this very day.

Nintendo won't be at Paris Games Week at the end of October.

Rumor: Wii U owners might get a discount on the NX and its games through My Nintendo.

I think the rumor itself is solid, except for the part where they say you can get up to 90% off the NX and its games up to the price of the system itself.

90% discount on the NX seems kinda BS, but an incentive for Wii U owners would make sense.

I wonder if I registered enough Wii U games. I think I did, but it's been a while....and I think that was on the old system before My Nintendo was launched as well.

Under the current system, only digital downloads get registered with My Nintendo. They'd have to change some things if that rumor is to be believed.

I certainly wouldn't mind a discount, but 90% seems a tad excessive. They're trying to make a profit here, not sink themselves into an even deeper financial pit handing out free consoles.

I haven't done a digital game download yet.

I do have one thing I want to try it with, but money problems have put that on the back burner for a while now.

A 90% discount for Wii U owners would certainly be a good publicity stunt, even if it was only for a limited time.

The Ambassador program literally saved the 3DS so the idea of some sort of advantage for Wii U owners might make some sense, but definitely not to the absolutely ridiculous extreme in the article.

I'm still nailing October, but yeah Paris Game's Week is a strange place to be absent.

It makes sense them skipping Paris. If they are waiting until after Color Splash to even announce the reveal date, then that would make the actual reveal about a week before PGW. Not giving them enough time to set up anything.

They also didn't cancel anything either.

They usually go to PGW, and they have a bunch of 3DS games + Zelda to show. Skipping is weird even without NX.

Nintendo Classic Mini: Famicom announced. Basically, the NES Classic but for Japan.

I like the design for the controller-holsters. Looks like wings.

It's important to note that the controllers are very small. I suppose if the system itself can fit in the palm of your hand that was expected, but wow.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 confirmed in pre-production!

Still not confirmed if NX exclusive.

Can hardly be confirmed for a console that doesn't officially exist yet.

Sonic Generations 2 or whatever it is called was announced for the NX. The other Sonic game wasn't officially announced yet.

Mini-NES demonstration on Nintendo's Twitch channel on October 6th at 9 am PDT.

Hey, weren't we promised an Animal Crossing direct during September?

It's happening November 2nd.

I swear they're willing to talk about every little thing but NX.
