The English DSOD website updated with character profiles! They’re all accurately translated from the Japanese versions from what i can tell, and the spelling of Sera’s name wasn’t changed!

Ya know, Aster is my favorite Rival in the whole franchise but I am reminded how much I hate his duel with Zane. They had Zane act like a complete idiot to mbuild up Aster as a threat. Whether it's having Zane suffer Power Bond's penalty like a noob or having him walk into a blatantly obvious trap. It is clear that they just didn' t care. As long as he lost and fast, who cares if it makes sense. What also hurts is that Zane narely even qualifies as arrogant compared to all other Kaiba Clones so why Break the Haughty?

Im more amazed that Aigami kept his name.

That's very early 4kids who gave a damn and at least tried to keep SOME stuff Japanese. And you are surprised for a name as common as "Sera" being kept? Im sorry for the rude tune. Aigami was prime for tampering into "Anthony" or whatever. Again, Im sorry for the rude tone, you rock lalalei.

Sure there's also Yuma, Yuya, Sora and so on, but you didnt bring up those so...

I thought it'd be changed to "Sara" or "Sarah" or something XD Sera is an uncommon spelling, at least where I live (it's not even in Firefox's spell check).

The Sonic OVA movie changed Sera to Sara so I thought it might happen here too.

Yeah, I guess you are right in being worried about that. After all 4K media turned Yuzu into... Zuzu. My dub loving friend Emily is still angry about that. It looks so dumb.

Yuzu to Zuzu is because the Japanese name had a different "Yu" from the series protags and there was no way to communicate that in English. Plus that was made especially relevant in ARC-V compared to every other series.

I always wondered about that change! The only other Zuzu I knew was from It's A Wonderful Life.

Kazuki Takahashi drew art of Kaiba and Atem (as Yami Yugi)! He talks about visiting the US and seeing the English voice actors for the characters, and Dan Green and Eric Stuart were great ^^ At least that’s what I can gather from Google Translate.

I agree completely. Zane did think highly of himself but he isn't like Kaiba and Jack.

I suppose it has something to do with him wither a Jobber or a butt monkey.

I got into the Duel Links closed beta test!

The game is fully voiced and has a lot of favorite characters. <3

Same, I just haven't had the time to download or anything with it.

Nor will I have the chance to play it much, I think. Definitely not hear the voices.

Checking out Replay Duels in Duel Links. One was Kaiba getting a one-turn-kill against Yami Yugi somehow (I blinked and it was over), and another was Kaiba versus his toughest opponent yet… ANOTHER KAIBA. (They're players online facing each other, I think.)

Kaiba 2: I’ll make you pay!

Kaiba 1: It’s clearly obvious that my strategies are superior to yours.

I wonder if all the duels in Yugioh are symbolic? And perhaps we were wrong about the power if friendship in one player cardgames?

Duelists' decks tend to symbolize something about them, so they are all symbolic in that sense XD

So I was re-watching Episode 60 of 5D's.

I kinda wish Aki had also re-appeared in Arc V now, mostly due to my never ending dream of the ultimate Aki vs Asuka show-down, but also because I'd have liked to see if her black rose Archetype would get any new cards.

I'm assuming her lack of appearance is related either to the former (no new version of Black Rose Dragon or further cards in the archetype) and some of the behind the scenes issues that went down in the original 5D's (though I can't remember enough about them to know if that would prevent there from coming back if asked).

And since Arc V is going to end soon, I doubt we'll be seeing more characters from the other series any time soon (though for Zexal, that's not so bad, as they found the most important person to bring back in my book).

For shits and giggles, I watched the North Academy arc, and Chazz / Manjoume's rematch duel with Jaden / Judai.

During the duel, Judai gives his classic dueling should be fun speech.

Knowing what happens to him in the 3rd season, and how it haunts him into a good majority of the 4th, hearing him have so much fun and say others should as well is weird.

I imagine anyone who re watched old episodes of GX after seasons 3 and 4 must have winced whenever he smiled like a goof and enjoyed the duels so much, since we all knew what was coming later on.

Jaden and Yuya would be BF Fs no matter when they met for the exact same reason.

True. But I think the difference is that Yuya won't quite break the way Jaden did.

And I think the latter will respect the former for that too.

To be fair, Jaden did have an Eldritch Abomination who basically was the equivalent of a Psycho Ex-Girlfriend putting to screws to him and his friends. So he basically distanced himself from him afterwards for basically the same reason Goku decided to stay dead after Cell's defeat. He felt responsible for the whole ordeal.

In season 4, he was supposed to get his "dueling should be fun" mentality back. But then again, he had to basically learn the same lesson again at the end...

I recently came across some old video games in my library, and I just remembered how silly the card names used to be. They kept leaving in random words in Japanese. "Power of Kaishin", "Yami" and everyone's favourite unpronounceable "Mikazukinoyaiba".

I just pronounced that right now.

I'm better than the entire internet.
