The Guidelines/things you should keep in mind when playing (as stolen from waoa....sorry guis)

*NO. RAPE. ONSCREEN. EVER. NO EXCEPTIONS.*

  • DO NOT TELL OTHER PLAYERS HOW THEY SHOULD ROLEPLAY. They're not your characters, and you need to respect the decisions the other players make. Do not go lecturing your fellow players on the things they're doing wrong unless they ask for feedback, don't go demanding characters should be played at your leisure, and don't put pressure on the player if they don't feel like playing a character at a certain point. And especially don't demand others put pressure on the player who isn't playing that character that you like.
  • NO FLAMING OF OTHER PLAYERS. Flaming your fellow players does not help this RP or its players in the long run at all. So don't do it.
  • DO NOT GO RAILROADING CHARACTERS/PLAYERS INTO YOUR OWN PLOTS OR INTERACTING WITH THEM WITHOUT ASKING PERMISSION. It's rude, it can lead to massive confusion, and it smacks of recklessness. If you want to get somebody to join in a plot, make sure they are fully on board with your idea before you try to go forward with it. If you want your characters to do something with a certain character, make sure the player that plays that character has given you their full consent. Do not jump the gun under any circumstances. Also, do not integrate other player's characters into your character's backstory without permission given beforehand. It has a high probability of causing massive continuity issues, in addition to being...rude.
EVEN IF IT SEEMS BE RELATED TO THIS GAME, WHAT HAPPENS OFFSITE IS CONSIDERED UNRELATED TO THIS GAME, AND STAYS OFF-SITE. Don't think anything more needs to be said. In a similar vein to the above rule, DO NOT BE DISRUPTIVE. To clarify what the difference between disruptive and railroading is, being "disruptive" is to perform start arcs/plots that does not follow the current arc/plot/story or contradict the rules of the current setting and/or make it hard for other players to interact. "Railroading" is forcing another player(s) to do something against their will. Godmodding is a no-no. It’s no fun for anybody, and it will just easily be countered. Only possible exception is goddmodders from their canon sources. Oh wait, not even then is it ever gonna be possible. Go to the Discussion thread to learn what’s going on and what you need to know of the current goings on. In fact, you should probably head over there right now after you finish reading this post. Read the atmosphere before introducing new characters. If there’s a major conflict or dramatic moment occurring, wait until there is a lull in activity. Go to the Text editing page and memorize as many of the formats as you can. Especially the spoiler function.

Do not break the fourth wall AT ALL this is a living breathing world and it has its own rules which will be posted in a discussion thread soonish. Ask, ask, ask if you are unsure what is going on or what you need to do. Don't assume or ignore. Don’t edit your posts constantly. It’s extremely annoying trying to accommodate for all the changes. If you have an idea for a possible future plot. Let us know in the discussion and we will consider it for the future. Unlike last time this game is gonna be a group affair moderated by Me, Sun, Lechuck and Stoney. But everyone gets a say Try to keep the roleplaying to the regular thread and not the discussion thread. A few one-time jokes are no big deal, but the moderators make it clear that the discussion thread is not to be treated as a second game entirely. Saying that if you do want to use the thread to bring up something other than the game feel free just don't over choke it with unrelated posts. Try not to double post. Use the edit function instead. Ignore the rules, and your characters die and gets ignored for eternity...or worse.....shiny can be cruel to his own characters...but man if you screw up....all bets are off Now for char creation use the following sheet. Chars will be judged as acceptable by Shiny, Sun, Lechuck and Raid.

  • Name: Marcia Shyneet
  • Gender: Female
  • Race: Human
  • Class: Alchemist
  • Gear: A belt of potions and a pair of goggles
  • Skills: Potion-maker (she can make elemental and healing potions). She also can identify an ingredient by scent alone.
  • Power: None
  • Physical ability: about average.
  • Quick traits: She loves to mix potions whenever she gets the chance. She apologizes a lot and is very shy, so she doesn't speak often.

Anything I need to change?

I'm interested, but would like a little more information about the sign-up. What races are allowed? Does Power mean Magic Power, and is it available to any race? What sort of things would fall under Physical Ability (e.g. Good swimmer? Generally athletic?) and Quick Traits?

...Time for a Sparty-brand Bad Idea! If this character's not good enough for someone I literally just thought up I'll go ahead and make someone else.

  • Name: Blitzkrieg
  • Gender: Male
  • Race: Human
  • Gear: An axe. Not much else other than that.
  • Skills: Very good at killing people with an axe.
  • Power: None to speak of.
  • Physical ability: Above average for what humans can do, but otherwise nothing extraordinary.
  • Quick traits: Isn't entirely right in the head. While he isn't the sort of insane that causes him to kill random people, he's still a little bit creepy due to his love of bloodshed and his penchant for non-sequiturs (especially during bloodshed). This being said he understands English and is capable of following orders and socializing. It just takes a bit of effort to figure out what he's saying and get past the whole "NIPPLE SALADS" thing.

@whizzerd Just a guess, since I'd used this sign-up format myself a couple times before, but;

  • I asked in the sign-up thread and people agreed that since the setting isn't 100% put in stone, there's no limitations in terms of what Race-species are chooseable/unplayable. Granted, it might change if the DM changes his mind later, so if you're not sure about anything that's not straight-up classical fantasy (ex. human, elf, or dorf), might be a good idea to shoot him a PM for confirmation.
  • Power, I believe, represents any ability that consists of the supernatural/superhuman, like a comic book superpower or magic.
  • That's actually precisely the kind of things that would fall under Physical Ability. Any attribute/ability granted through an inherent strength and not necessarily specialized training, i.e. Skill. If your character is inhuman, any inherent physical traits to their given species also count (ex. someone having three arms also having extra dexterity in the third arm).
  • Quick Traits is there so people don't put down fifty paragraphs describing someone's personality and backstory. Just list what's most important that you want people to know about your character there that wasn't covered in the other sections, quick and dirty.

  • Gear: If you can call it that a purple familiar cat with a split tail and a gem on it's forhead.
  • Skills: Vera is adept at a lot of ancient magic and knows a lot about the current feild. She also knows rudimentary glassblowing skills.
  • Powers: Vera's primary ability is light magic. Able to focus it as lasers or to create simple illusions, all Vera's abilities tie back to light. She can use other types of magic from spellbooks but it drains her so much it removes her ability to cast for the rest of the day.
  • Physical Ability: Her physical stamina is split between her cat and herself. If either dies the other's life is at risk.
  • Quick Traits: Intelligent but a bit awkward and a loner.
  • D&D/Pathfinder Class: Witch

Name: Kaalia Aurelis

Gender: Female

Class: Paladin

Race: Angelkin

Gear: Full Plate Armor, a Broadsword and a massive Shield, as well as a medium Bag of Holding and typical paladin equipment like candles and a flask of holy water.

Skills: Knows quite a bit about divine and unholy entities and their history, has some basic medical knowledge

Powers: Being a Paladin, Kaalia can detect the presence of evil (at the GM's discretion so the plot will not be immediately ruined by figuring out that the Friendly Chancellor is actually a bad guy 5 minutes into the campaign), can smite said evil for massive damage, can heal minor wounds and afflictions on her allies and herself a limited amount of times per day, and, again at the GM's discretion, might be granted additional divine powers typical for Paladins by her deity should the need arise.

Physical ability: Strong enough to wield a broadsword in one hand and a really big shield in the other without much problem, can grow a pair of wings from her back to fly with, and can ride pretty well

Quick traits: Kaalia does not remember much about her past, only that she one day woke up in a cave with a voice in her head telling her to protect the innocent, which is pretty much what she has been doing ever since. Being kinda ditzy and naive, she figured that joining an Adventure Guild would help her to find more people to protect, or at least earn funds to fuel her massive hoarding problem.

Also, may I suggest adding an optional "Class" bullet point to the signup sheets? After all, we are playing a fantasy campaign here so I think it would be kinda helpful to have a general overview into what kind of RPG Class Archetype your character falls.

Thanks for the clarifications! Let's see if this guy is good:

  • Name: Kalmir
  • Gender: Male.
  • Race: Fish-like humanoid (sort of like Abe Sapien).
  • Gear: A short stone spear and knife, a large net, and a couple of waterskins (all kept on a leather belt). Wears trousers and specially-fitted sandals but generally goes around topless. All of his gear is water-resistant.
  • Skills: Can communicate fluently with any aquatic creature, and also has some knowledge of languages used by land-based creatures. Knows enough about combat and the wilderness to survive, both with weapons and without.
  • Power: N/A
  • Physical ability:
    • He's amphibious, so can breathe both on land and in water, though he needs to keep his skin moist on land in order to breathe properly.
    • Naturally, he is an excellent swimmer. Anything he can do on land he can do twice as well in water; combined with the disadvantage most other races have in water, this means that he is a very dangerous opponent when in his hometurf.
    • Has improved eyesight in darkness compared to a human, and can withstand colder temperatures.

  • Quick traits: Kalmir grew up in the ocean away from the affairs of land-dwellers, so tends towards neutrality when it comes to politics, morality etc. It also means he's very ignorant about history and current events. That all said he's very friendly, would rather mediate conflicts than be involved on either side, and tries not to stick his gills where they're not wanted.

  2. Chuck, why not play tidbit as well? Two charcters is fine, and uhhh, I am kinda worried about that one >.<

@Shiny: Sorry for PMing my sheet to you, I got nervous. (-__-')

@Everyone else: Here's my character sheet!

  • Name: Victor
  • Gender: Male
  • Race: Calls himself a Patchwork Man, since he hasn’t met anyone else like him. He’s pretty much Frankenstein’s monster in terms of construction, but I’m not calling him IC because that implies that Frankenstein exists in here.
  • Gear: A medical kit filled with various surgical tools, a staff, and Fritz, a talking raven with a mind of his own. Wears a lot of clothing (cloaks, scarves and the like) to hide most of the stitches on his person.
  • Skills: Victor has a lot of medical and surgical knowledge (more akin to early twentieth century medical knowledge than modern-day medical knowledge) for a being who had no memory of medical training. In addition, he has a lot of skills with sewing — kind of a necessity when you're a bunch of parts stitched together.
  • Power: Victor possesses an odd sort of Life magic. Using it, he can alter the health of his targets. This can range from healing wound to inflicting them, from curing men of illness to turning them to patient zero of a plague. In cases involving creature up to the size of a wolf, he can even bring them to life, though he rarely does that because he has no way of controlling them. The more he uses it, though, the more he exhausts himself.
  • Physical ability: His sewn-together form has some advantages. He can snip at the stitches holding together some part of him, letting it loose. He can also control these loose parts. Placing it back on (or in dire cases when the original limb is completely unattainable, placing on a new limb) is as simple as putting it in place and sewing it back up — with one major exception, thanks to events shown below. In addition, while he isn’t immortal, he’s hard to kill — he’s been, among other things, impaled, shot at by arrows, pulled apart by wolves and set aflame (all at different times, obviously), and the only things that came out of it was him being scared of the last thing. He’s narrowed down the possible true kill points to be the brain or heart, but for obvious reasons has yet to test either of them out.
  • Quick traits:
    • Bio: Victor has had a rough life. He first awoke on a table in an abandoned building, with no idea of how he got there. He wandered about for a while, testing his abilities and stuff. At one point, he ended up angering a witch by stealing her familiar, Fritz, because he saw her mistreating the raven. He woke up later with no eyes and a curse that makes any attempt at placing new ones in the socket end with the chosen replacement turning to dust. At this point, he has resorted to letting Fritz be his eyes and guide him about until they find said witch again.
    • Personality: Victor is rather… eccentric, to say the least. He’s only been “alive” for a couple of years, and while he can pass himself off as human — albeit a ‘’very’’ pale grey, blind human — there’s a lot of odd habits he has. While he doesn’t go out of his way to pick fights, the ones he end up in have him being reckless in regards of bodily harm. He also seems to have a habit of experimenting on dead animals, a habit that only somewhat decreased after the witch’s curse (much to Fritz’s annoyance). That being said, he also tries to act like a decent person — hence his reluctance on experimenting on or taking body parts from anything live, and his attempt to rescue Fritz. He’s also hesitant about revealing his less-than-living state — the last several times he revealed this didn’t turn out so well.
  • D & D Class: ...Darn it, why is it that I can’t make any of my characters fall neatly into a single class? (TT__TT)

Against my better judgment, I'm gonna attempt to be a part of this thing again. >.>

Name: Viorec Andrezi (looks kinda like this [orgnal churracter donut steel])

Gender: Male

Age: 41

Race: Human

Gear: Listed below.

  • Weapon: An adamantine scimitar with intricate runes carved into the side of the blade. Has a hilt and handguard that appear to be made out of gold, and a single red ruby rests on the end of the hilt. In his native language (which is coincidentally similar to our Arabic) he calls it "The Blade That Cleaves Through Reality."

  • Armor: Underneath the large, flowing black robe that he wears, Andrezi sports a simple set of chainmail, mostly put on as an afterthought rather than true protection. The chainmail has a minor enchantment on it that helps it flow and conform to Andrezi's body more easily, allowing him more freedom of movement. He does not carry a shield, believing them to be too cumbersome.

  • Sundries: In the pack at his side, Andrezi carries a few magical minor healing potions, due to his tendency to operate alone. Various food items — mostly different kinds of bread and cheese — are also kept within, sealed within their own separate container that has been magically enchanted to preserve food for an extended period of time. His coinpurse, also kept within the bag, usually contains less than 50 gold at a time; just enough for Andrezi to get a night's stay at an inn and more bread and cheese, usually. Various other types of adventuring gear — bedroll, canteen, bathing supplies, etc. — are also kept in the pack.

Skills: Andrezi has trained in the art of swordplay since he was a young boy, and as such is quite skilled in it, having access to the knowledge of how to execute fairly complicated techniques and swings. Specifically, Andrezi trained with the scimitar, so he's more used to the weight and feel of one of those than any other sword. He can still use any other double-edged blade with some proficiency, however.

Powers: Andrezi is a spellcaster, but an unusual one — he cannot fling fire, cause ice to spring from the ground, nor summon lightning from a clear blue sky. No, Andrezi's power requires a conduit, and that conduit is his sword. By chanting the required incantation for a spell under his breath and passing his hand (which has a rune carved into the palm that looks similar to the ones on his sword) over the runes on the sides of his scimitar, he can imbue his blade with magical power, causing it to burst into flame, grow crystals of pure ice that latch onto opponents, spark with the power of many volts of electricity, or something else related to the spell he casts. Andrezi has access to the spells relating to the elements — Fire, Water, Electricity, Air, and Earth — as well as a few other situational spells: Osmose, which can drain the magic power from the opponent it strikes, if they have a reserve from which to drain; Drain, which lifts the blood that leaks from a wound out of the air and compresses it into pure life energy, restoring Andrezi's health; and Silence, which seals the vocal cords of those it strikes, preventing spellcasters who rely on incantations from casting their spells. To balance this power out, Andrezi can only keep one spell on his sword at a time; should he attempt to cast another, the previous one is immediately dispelled. Keeping a spell attached to his blade also continuously drains Andrezi of his own magic power which, if he is not careful, can leave him fatigued and open to counterattack.

Physical Abilities: Although he's starting to get up there in years, Andrezi can still hold his own against younger fighters. His strength is a quiet one, lying in wait behind the otherwise-generic-looking physique he possesses (which is usually hidden behind his robes anyway). He can't perform any acrobatic nonsense nor feats of incredible strength, but he can still swing a sword with the best of them.

Quick traits: Andrezi is a quiet man, keeping to himself and operating solo on missions whenever possible, which is often; Andrezi is a man who craves adventure, and he has even eschewed payment for a task just to have the opportunity to undertake it. Although he mostly keeps to himself, Andrezi is not antisocial; he is perfectly capable of holding a pleasant conversation with whomever has spoken to him, and although he prefers solo tactics, he can (if begrudgingly) cooperate (to a certain extent) with a team. He has a short temper for slackers, however, and he does not tolerate those who take situations too lightly or too casually.

Pathfinder Class: Magus

Be kind.

  • Physical ability: Hahahaa, none, what is this field work of which you speak?
  • Quick traits: Hailing from a foreign land where mages are in high demand, Aura is used to multiple assistants to help her, she is in Arieth looking for something, but refuses to say what exactly... • Name: Tibalt Fyndblut
  • Sex: Male
  • Race: Demon/Devil
  • Class: Arcane Trickster
  • Age: "Handsome Young Man"
  • Gear: Walking cane with Rapier hidden inside, magical parchment
  • Powers: Can cast spells on a spells/day basis, mostly focusing on Illusion magic like Alter Self, mind-affecting magic like Charm Person, and some offensive Fire and Darkness spells like Fireball. He can also create magical traps that cast these spells upong being sprung.
    • While most of the mind-affecting and illusionary spells he knows can be cast at a distance, they are far more likely to succeed if Tibalt can make physical contact with his target
      • Furthermore, he can cast more powerful spells (Geas/Quest, Hold Person and Induce Strong Hallucinations, among others) on subjects who "consent" by signing a contract with him
  • Skills: Most of the stuff you would expect from a Rogue, mostly sneaking, lockpicking and "Sleight of Hand" stuff like pickpocketing
    • Impeccable fashion sense
    • A metaphorical Silver Tongue, especially towards targets that have been hit by one of his spells
  • Physical Abilities: Excellent at Acrobatics, more resistant/leathery skin than normal humans, and has an inner body temperature of several hundred degrees, due to his blood literally being on fire
  • Languages: Common, Infernal, Celestial, Goblin
  • Quick Traits: Layers upon layers upon layers of lies and deceit make it really hard to describe what Tibalt really is like
