Yes, Frozen is everywhere and everyone and their mom has sung "Let it Go" in the shower, but that doesn't stop the current from being pretty terrible. There's little indication Elsa is singing at all, nor the fact that she's "becoming" anything.

Any image for this, outside of a lampshade in a comic or webcomic, is going to be JAFAAC...I'm good with either keeping the current or pulling it and making this a "no pic" page.

Honestly, I expected something worse than what's on the page. There are some hints to the trope in the picture. She's climbing stairs, and her mouth is open. I wonder if that's as good as it's going to get, considering how hard it probably is to illustrate the trope clearly.

I should note that I've not seen the film, and know very little about it, least of all that particular scene.

Small digression: I am amused that the picture and the quote are both from characters that Idina Menzel plays.
I think Elsa could work. Show her singing while doing her little transformation sequence. Something this with lyrics under it maybe? Could be cut down to less panels.

I do think it's JAFAAC (not surprising, given that this is a singing trope. Why can't images sing?!). Now, I really hate to remove pics (who doesn't love them?) unless we really have to, but in this case, I would understand if it was voted to be pulled. If we go for Keep Until Better Image Suggested, I'm fine with that, too.

[up][up] That might work, though it is very broad.

[up]Do we need all those 4 shots? I think the last two or 2+4 is sufficient.

I think the current is better than those.

Is this any worse than the pic for "I Want" Song?

They both suck, but I know the chances of them changing are probably next to nil for reasons I don't agree with.

The current is at best so-so, but the suggestions aren't better.

Do you mean just the picture links or the suggestions at all, because I think Rogue's suggestion of 2+4 is fine.

Worse than the current by way of being less concise. Plus, it's a sentence fragment.

I feel like these threads are a waste of time. The result will only be a slight improvement on the current, if any at all.

Maybe is better imageless.

[up][up]I sympathize. I hate pics on musical tropes in general. Why people are so insistent it somehow makes the page better to have a silent picture of a person with their mouth open is beyond me.

Current is better than nothing I think. It's not hurting the page.

They can't all be Mickey Mousing. (An example of a great image for an audio trope, IMO.)

I just don't see the value added to the page of a picture of a person with their jaw dropped.

I mean, we could replace the current Frozen picture with literally any frame of Elsa and it would technically make absolutely no difference whatsoever. That's the part that annoys me.

That's not true. First off, she's obviously singing. If she weren't, it would make no sense for this trope. Second, she's ascending a staircase, which is visually symbolic. Third, for the people who are familiar with the scene, it piggybacks on existing memories of the trope.

Yeah, that's why I said "technically."

I mean, if I just threw up a random frame of Elsa with her mouth open, what difference would it make to someone who'd never seen the movie? They'd assume she was singing because of the trope, regardless of whether she was actually singing or not!

If context makes it all better, then by that logic there's nothing wrong with Just A Face And A Caption, because context!

But now I sense I'm getting into old arguments that most people probably considered settled, so I'll stop now. I'll just say that I am firm in my belief that absent sound technology, a pic on most music tropes, including this one, adds zero value or interest to the page.

If there's context, it means it isn't Just A Face And A Caption, so that line of reasoning doesn't track.
