I kinda prefer the OP/2.2, though I admit that the quality is rather bad.
I like 2.1. Nice clear shot of a flare being fired from a gun, and it's the closest to how the mass media often depicts flare guns (i.e., a sparkly fireball, from my experience)

The picture looks less like someone firing a flare gun and more like someone performing a Coup de Grâce head shot with a large handgun. (Yes, I know that's the Pyro using his flare gun, but the problem still stands for those unfamiliar with the game)
Could we get a picture of someone actually shooting a flare gun into the sky?
