Jimmy's move was worse, by far. He's gone as deep as one can go into Heisenberg levels of malice without actually killing anyone. Now, one can argue that he did what he did because his lack of a job means he needs to get money by hook or crook, but his joblessness is his fault to begin with.
As for Chuck, he's basically trying to do what Jimmy did in the pilot (cash out)... but doing a much shittier job at it.
The question is, how much farther can Jimmy sink?
Obvious answer? Accomplice to murder. Saul suggesting that to Walt more than once was clearly not his first rodeo, and I am betting he will be up to his eyeballs in it when Nacho finally bites it.
I guess I should have asked, "How much lower can Jimmy sink before becoming Saul?"
He's about two-thirds of the way there now. Maybe more.
| Wandering, but not lost. | If people bring so much courage to this world...◊ |That last scene.
Chuck's arc this season was very slow-burn, but things really heated up at the end.
That was a good season finale.
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyI like how in the end they made sure Chuck was a huge asshole so I didn't feel too bad when he went insane and died.
Though it's getting difficult to correlate Jimmy and Saul.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Jimmy burns bridges, Chuck burns himself.
BTW, everyone thought that Young Chuck was voicedover by Michael Mc Kean, but according the podcast, that actor used his own voice. Mind. Blown.
Is it possible that Kim was around Breaking Bad all along and we just never saw her? It's not like the narrative really followed Saul.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. If you watch the season three finale Talking Saul episode, Vince Gilligan seems to have decided that she wasn't.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.I'm gonna have to go with the obvious theory on Kim in the Breaking Bad era: Jimmy will do something so terrible that his relationship with Kim is destroyed. She never wants to see him again and leaves. Maybe she even moves back to Nebraska.
Which might set up an interesting meeting in the finale if she ever walks into a certain Omaha shopping mall.
"Jimmy and Kim will meet again in Omaha" seems like a foregone conclusion at this point now that we know it's where she's from.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. That could be so interesting. And very, very sad.
Kim will probably be doing much better than Jimmy is now. She'll probably have a kid and/or a lovely husband.
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyMaybe she'll have made partner at a successful firm.

Formerly KarmaMeter. Are there any indications yet how long BCS will run for? I assume the timescale is relatively set out, since events so far must happen a given time before BB.
The series right now is set in 2003, about five years out from the start of Breaking Bad.
There were vague rumblings a while back about AMC wanting the show to top out at five seasons, like Bad before it. Not sure if that's still true now.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Saul was his first real dramatic role as he's mostly known for comedy. He even shows up in this season of Veep and my first instinct was to go "It's Chuck!"
This is a beautiful show that complements Breaking Bad perfectly. I'm very happy that we have been given this extra window into the Gilliganverse. The characters are rich and fascinating and I simply can't wait for season 4.
I can't really tell if Mike's story is going to intersect with Jimmy's though. Does Mike just effectively have his own show on the side, or are they planning something?
3DS FC: 1719-3694-1541They cross paths every so often, but yeah, this does feel like a prime example of Two Lines, No Waiting to me. Though considering it was through Saul that Walt and Jesse met Gus and Mike, they clearly get more closely associated eventually.
There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty.Something I'd forgotten about and caught during a recent Breaking Bad rewatch—at the start of the series, Saul has no idea who Gus is.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Jimmy thought nothing of Gus at the time.
Though what's to say that he did know Gus and was maintaining plausible deniability?

Jimmy's social isolation of Irene is worse. Although he's right that it's in the ladies' best interest for them to settle now, his manipulation of them and what he put Irene through made it clear that he really doesn't care about them at this point. At least not enough to... not do what he did. At the end of the day, he wanted the money and got it in a way he knew would hurt an innocent person.
Chuck and Howard really both have a point in their situation. Chuck really is owed that money if he's going to leave HHM, but HHM can't afford it and Howard is also right that Chuck has become a massive liability.
