I need to listen to more Mark I Deep Purple. I liked their cover of Help (admittedly I think it beats the original version...something John Lennon even admitted).
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Saw the first episode.
Very fun!
I'm glad I don't need to see Army Of Darkness in order to understand it. Oh don't get me wrong, i'm going to see that movie!
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.I finally watched the first episode, now that Starz is streaming it. I've got to admit, I forgot how scary this series was. It didn't help that the lights have been flickering either.
So I liked this second episode. I'm starting to wonder when Lucy Lawless is showing up, though.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I think she shows up again in the third episode, but only near the end.
Amanda's now my least favorite character, and Ruby is possibly my most favorite after Ash.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. My favorite character right now is Eligos. That thing was freaking intense.
My favorite part about Eligos is how every bit of him was vibrating and out of sync- except his mouth. It's like his body is just the closest we can get to seeing him.
Kelly is having side effects from the Eligos incident.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureIt wasn't until I started watching this series that I really understood how much Ash's life sucks. Most of the tie-in media just follows Army of Darkness's style, and turns Ash into a blue-collar James Bond: gadgets, girls, and a new location every month. But here, he's been broken by the Deadites. He'd rather stay a stockboy than live the life of adventure. He doesn't use his adventures to pick up chicks. His dream paradise is Jacksonville, Florida, for god's sake because he was planning to take his girlfriend Linda there before the cabin.

Sounds like he took some cues from Sam Axe. Broken down badass completely in love with someone and just wanting to be with her/memories of her. Towards the end of Burn Notice, with Mike being so messed up, Axe was getting pretty close to that way too.
I was wondering if that was a deliberate Burn Notice reference.
Welp, "Killer of Killers" was a hell of an episode. It's interesting how the Deadite seemed to speak to Ruby as a rival, not an enemy. I think Ruby's intentions for the Necronomicon aren't exactly pure.

I'm wondering why Ash finds Jacksonville a paradise. One of my best friends from the Army, who was from Jacksonville, called it Jacksghanistan.
Didn't the Brujo ask him more or less that question? Ash's answer was that Jacksonville was the place he wanted to take his girlfriend before his life went to Hell in a handbasket. Quite probably, he's never actually been there and idealizes the place not much because of what it is, but what it represented for him (the possible normal life he could have had).
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Eh, Jacksonville is kind of overrated. I live in Florida, there's not much to Jacksonville, to be honest.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I've never been there, but it will forever be known as Jacksghanistan to me, from my buddy's description of it.
I think that's part of the joke. The whole time they're in Ash's head, the brujo's giving Ash the side-eye. "Your personal heaven is Jacksonville? The fuck is wrong with you?" The writers are laughing about it in one of the little "making-of" featurettes at the end of the episode.
Yeah the Brujo is highly confused when he comes to Ash's personal heaven. I think his first words when he teleports in are literally something akin to "why?". It's only when Ash elaborates on his Dark and Troubled Past that he realizes the weight of the place.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."So... who else thinks that Ruby is actually one of the Dark Ones?
And I am dreading the day when one of the Ghost Beaters gets killed. I think it's coming soon.
Shit, missed the latest episode this past Sat, on account of being doped up outta my mind on hydrocodone for a kidney stone.
Since this show is a thing, does that mean they're putting that modern reboot movie off in the "ignore this please" bin?
Well, fuck. Talk about mood whiplash.
One of my favorites is April but that is Mk I Deep Purple. So it didn't really fit with the other lineups. Burn is great as well.
