A bit baby faced for such an old man.
According to wikipedia, the show is set 200 years before Clark starts fighting for Truth, Justice and the American way.
I don't know about you, but my grandpa was not alive 200 years ago. What's a Kryptonian's natural lifespan?
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! In the comics Kryptonians living on Krypton have a lifespan of a couple hundred years. On Earth in some continuities Superman survived for thousands of years.
This is suppose to take place in the DCEU I'm not sure if it is the same but Zod and Faora didn't age at all even though the time it took between Krypton's destruction and Zod's arrival on Earth was 33 years. They were immediately awoken from the Phantom Zone when Krypton exploded.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureOn the one hand, it looks a bit generic. But, it's a teaser, so there's only so much they can show. I'm cautiously optimistic.
I liked that the Kryptonian 'S' was more stylized than normal. For once, I can actually believe that this is a letter in an alien language that just coincidentally looks like an S.
I know Goyer said it was in continuity with the DCEU so the S does look like a predecessor of the S in Man of Steel.
That was a few years ago so I'm not sure if it is still in the same continuity of the DC Films starting with Man of Steel.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureThough they probably won't go this route, there's the possibility that this show's taking place 200 years before Superman's time on Earth is due to the time it took baby Kal-El's rocket to travel through hyperspace to get to Earth. Remember Jor-El's line from the Richard Donner's Superman where he says that by the time Kal-El see's his message, Jor-El will have been dead for many thousands of years.
Though rather deal with the vagaries of hyperspatial space travel, I expect they'll just have Kryptonians (even non-solar powered ones) be extremely long lived.
Fuck David Goyer.
Bite my shiny metal ass.?
So I guess we finally see the night in which Kal-El was conceived.
Worth the television series.
Krypton is where "heroes are forged?" Apart from Kal-El and Kara the only things that place has produced have been monsters, criminals, and evil AI.
Why is this not a thing? I want a Themyscira pilot immediately.
Funny thing is there actually was a story where Jor-El came to Earth and met with Thomas Wayne because Jor-El wanted to know if Earth would be a good planet to send Kal-El to.
But this is going the Gotham route and starting Jor-El young so we can see all of his trials and tribulations on his way to becoming the scientist we know. I guess we'll have imagery of and dialogue from him about wanting to build a rocket ship someday.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I'd rather check out a Themyscira show over the two prequel shows, beyond enjoying the sights, Gotham is tainted by, well, the fact that everything will always suck until the kid we follow is old enough to buy booze, and Krypton's got an expiration date, and anything talking about their prosperity ends up feeling like a "wait for it". At least the Amazons are usually still alive and kicking.

Wake me up at your own risk.Well I guess I'm gonna watch it, with it being the first DCEU show and all, but my expectations aren't very high.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureSo who else forgot that this existed?
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Well, we finally have a premiere date: March 21st.
Not me.
I've been anticipating this series because it might actually be good because it isn't run by the people that worked on Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, and Titans.
I'm sick of half of those shows I haven't seen Black Lightning but I stopped watching Arrow and Supergirl. Flash and Legends of Tomorrow are becoming chores to watch.
I hope Titans is different since it isn't on the CW hopefully they have better writers but I'm not counting on it because one of the showrunners was writer on Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.
The only DC shows I currently like are: Gotham, iZombie and Lucifer

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureHonestly, I'm hyped. It could be cool if we see Kandor get stuck in a bottle, and the advantage of having these stories set on a doomed planet is that we get awesome worldbuilding and a lot of stories where we don't necessarily know where they're going, since Kryptonian history doesn't always get fleshed out a ton. So yeah, the planet will blow up eventually- which means we don't know if Character X, Y, or Z will die or become evil. Yes, it's forgone that Jor-El and Lara will send Kal El off to Earth, and that Zod will be imprisoned for crimes... but that doesn't necessarily mean his grandparents were evil (heck, they could actually be pretty good allies given that Zod and Jor-El are sometimes implied to have been friends)
My AO3I'm... considerably more hyped now that I know about the time travel aspect. That prevents this from being like Gotham where the entire premise feels pointless and hackneyed.
Arrow was good in its first 2 seasons and its 5th, Flash's first 2 seasons were good, Supergirl's 1st season was surprisingly decent, and Legends was too, for being a show that really shouldn't work anyway.
Now though, I agree, I can barely watch any of them, or Agents of Shield, and I'm told Inhumans was trash. Netflix shows all the way. I can tolerate Gotham for being wacky, but it's nothing like the show I fell in love with during its first season, it's so off the rails.
This, Runaways, Secret Warriors, Legion, and Cloak and Dagger might be my new watches. I'll give Black Lightning a shot since "black superhero" and the family drama that CW loves to put above everything else might actually go well with it, since the main character is a family man.
I don't know if my expectations are lowered but, where I thought this show was a pipe dream, I might really give this one a shot. Depending on how many of the aforementioned new shows I end up liking.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!So, the main villain will be Brainiac. The post 2008 version.
Cameron Cuffe is playing Superman's grandfather Seg-El
