Similar to the worst Disney villains thread I did a long time ago.Stick to animated works here, though songs written for adaptations of animated movies/series count.

To get started, let's go with:

  • Money is such a Beautiful word from Tom and Jerry
  • Ruber from Quest for Camelot
  • the villain songs from the Land Before Time cheapquels(although I do have a soft spot for When You're Big, but that's just because Nostalgia Filter.)
  • the Beagle Boy's song (forgot the name-Boogy Beagle Blues?)
  • Evilmania from Freddy as F.0.R.7.
  • and since I need a Disney Song, Just One Mistake from Little Mermaid 0.

Your picks?

Isn't this just another complaint thread?

The song from Freddie as F.R.O.7 at least has Nazis and Klansmen that rollerskate and walk like an Egyptian, though. So points for that. And Marvin Mc Nasty's song is So Bad, It's Good.

This. It also counts as So Bad, It's Good though.

I think Drake's song from The Pebble and the Penguin is pretty awful, especially with Tim Curry's horrible attempt at an American accent.

For Disney I picked a cheapquel, but in canon it's Alamadea Slim's Yodeling song, even though it gets more hate than it deserves IMO.

I'm not sure I've ever heard a truly bad Villain Song. I'm really trying to remember one and coming out empty-handed.

Even when I was a kid I thought Governor Ratcliffe's musical number from Pocahontas being AWFUL. The song was just completely linear and unsubstantial, I hated it.

[up] You mean "Mine, Mine, Mine"? I thought that song was....okay (definitely one of the movie's weaker songs, though).

It has clever lyrics, if nothing else. I think it is more the villain who is kind of...meh....

Jafar's reprise of Prince Ali has always been a disappointment to me. I don't really like Aladdin to begin with, but Jafar's still a pretty iconic villain and the fact his villain song is just a lyrical rearrangement of an earlier song always felt sort of...uninspired I guess. If I recall, the song he did end up getting in the sequel wasn't much better. The fact I can't even remember it should say something...

"A king has no friends. Only subjects and enemies."

The Dark Reprise of Prince Ali may be disappointing for people who wanted Jafar to have a more proper villain song, but it doesn't deserved to be mentioned with some of the songs in the OP.

Gonna Get My Wish from the Little Mermaid 2 was so bad it was cut from the movie.

Yeah, I enjoyed Home on the Range, but even so the Yodel Song was cringeworthy.

There is no part of "Mine, Mine, Mine" that is less clever than "they're different from us, which means they can't be trusted" in "Savages. Though John's part of "Mine" is definitely better than Radcliffe's.

I agree about the Ruber song from Quest for Camelot. It just felt like he really wasn't singing and it sounded too out of tune with the song.

Grammy Award worthy lyrics there.
