This isn't illustrating in the slightest. This picture is a mushroom cloud in the shape of a clown, not something non-nuclear making a mushroom cloud.

And it's not even an example that I can see. How's the Doom Shroom from Plants Versus Zombies?

@2 looks a bit busy to me.

The current is dependent on the caption, but I think the picture + caption works and is funny. Shots of a mushroom cloud rarely show what caused the explosion, so a straight illustration would be hard. (In the Plants Vs Zombies suggestion, what exactly is supposed to indicate that the explosion is non-nuclear?)

[up]Maybe show a picture the Doom Shroom before it explodes?

Like this pic although we probably don't need the first shot.

A mushroom might also be expected to make a mushroom cloud. Weakens it.

I was watching Avatar: The Last Airbender and came across this. Not the giant friendly mushroom, but the volleyball scene. I thought to show Azula serving for clarification.

[up] Interesting...are there widescreen versions of those two panels that could be stacked vertically?

I didn't want to make it too tall. The description is too short for that

I also support 8+15, and since it seems to have consensus I've put them both up, potholed, sourced and tagged them. Closing this up.
