The original IP thread determined to not do anything until TRS could shore up the trope, but the TRS thread didn't go anywhere, so we're right back where we started. I'm fine with pulling it for JAWAAC.

Aye, pull this.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYank it. Just a pic of a weasel.
"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenLooks like consensus in the TRS thread is to cut this as it's not a trope, and that didn't happen because our TRS system is still not working as well as it should. Any suggestions on how to tackle that?
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Re-create the thread, and add a Single-prop crowner to make the decision more official? Anyway, regardless of happens to the trope, that image needs to go. It's not illustrating anything.
I think that by the current rules you're not allowed to make a crowner unless there's several pages of discussion. Threads where everybody simply agrees just tend to get locked because they're too short to crowner, and nothing can be done without a crowner. At least that's how it seemed to work last time I checked TRS, I tend to stay out of there for a reason
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Bump; anyone else for pulling the current?
Plus one to pull.
Not right away, not right awayA collage of various mascots? We could get pics of Yuuno from Nanoha Chamo◊ from Negima Daxter◊ from Jak And Daxter Uzume◊ from Ai Yori Aoshi Tarte◊ from Fresh Precure and a few others with at least a few that really show them off especially the signature on the shoulder pose.
It is for sure a trope and very specifically a Magical Girl stereotype, even hentai Magical Girl shows get one.

I don't see the need to pull; the trope is about weasels, and the pic is of a weasel. Is there more to the trope than that?
"Weasel" is not a trope.
Compare: "Rabbit" is not a trope either. "Trickster rabbit" is a trope, and so it needs an image of a rabbit being a trickster.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! Its not specifically about strictly weasels its more about weasel-like mascots IE mongoose, ermine, squirrel whatever the heck most of these are. Note: Not all are this trope, only 4 have the personality for it.◊.
The key part of the trope is "cute, mischievous, playful mascot who nonetheless looks out mainly for himself and can be very critical of people around him but he is nowhere near as clever as he thinks he is, but talking is not actually required"
In Magical Girl one of these has been required since Cardcaptor Sakura. In Magical Girl and other series they are countered by the lead character who is close to a Goody Two Shoes but usually is easily flustered in an almost Manzai dynamic.
The chain smoking perverted Ermine who first joins the cast manipulating the main character in Negima probably exemplifies it the most I think hmm [1]◊[2]◊ how about one of these two?
EDIT: This work?◊ or this◊[3]◊

That second one doesn't really fit too well, he is just loving being literally Strangled by the Red String.
Ok that wasn't exactly trope I was expecting. EDIT: I guess Red String of Fate was what I was looking for, but far far more general than I was expecting.

Clock is set.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI am fine with 14-1
14-1 works.
Also, when this IP thread concludes, the trope should go through TRS.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I agree with the repair shop. It is 100% a thing, especially in certain genres, but right now the trope is written way too broad and yada.
I actually wouldn't mind renaming and restricting it to those genres and gender inversions and yada if we wanted to go that angle.

My only concern is that it'd be the second time the trope went to TRS, after it timed out the first time (resulting in no real change).
Moon◊Well, this clock expired and there hasn't been much progress since; closing this.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman
The image on Weasel Mascot is just a random weasel; unless this trope is intended to be "list of all weasels in fiction" then it needs a better image.
I'm afraid I don't have a clear example in mind; the trope description doesn't make clear to me what this trope is about. Apparently it's some kind of animal character that doesn't act like a cat or dog?
