They'd complain because they are now having to read.
As someone that's watched multiple subtitled foreign films I think that concern is completely unfounded :P
Yeah. It doesn't distract at all if you're interested. If it isn't interesting then there's a problem

Crow: There's a plot?As a Brazilian who's had to watch subtitled american movies for most of my existence until I learned English, suck it up, anglosphere, if the entire non-english-speaking-world can watch your movies and understand them, sure you can do the same at least once.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I'm American, I don't speak more than a word of Spanish, and I don't care that the film is in another language. Just make the subtitles big-enough to read properly (some movies make them too small), and have them onscreen long-enough (some movies have them go by too fast, especially in long conversational scenes) and I'm good.
This just makes me even more optimistic for the movie

I bet none of you expect that
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Well that line was in the first trailer too :P
I do think it funny that it was said that Callum is a member of the Assassin's Creed, if I heard right.

His blood is mentioned as being connected to it, though why they said that and not "Assassin Brotherhood" is weird.
Anyway the second trailer still looks good. Apparently all of the Abstergo prisoners are going to use the bleeding effect to break out of the facility?
I think people called that from the first trailer, when we see them with bows. I just hope the movie makes it believable. The Templars should know what they're dealing with and be prepared for it. Either this is the first use of the Animus (so they don't know about the bleeding effect), or it's been so long since they've fought real Assassins that they don't have any experience with their tactics.
Or the Templars know exactly what they're doing and kill them all.
So is this film an actual part of the overarching canon that will need to be paid attention to, or is the canon so muddied with backstory and supplemental material that this film is largely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things?
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Well there hasn't been any real modern day plot since III, so it depends on when the modern events are set / whether or not Juno does anything.

She/TheyI think, and don't quote me on this because I'm not 100% sure, that they've said that they're treating this as essentially another story set within the greater franchise universe. So yes, it would be in the same canon as the games if this is true.
x5 and x6
Yeah, that line REALLY bugged me. I'm really hoping its a poorly edited trailer only line because it just simply doesn't make sense in the terminology of the series. Assassin Brotherhood or Assassin Bloodline would have made more sense.
It may be that kind of thing where they edit the line to make it more distinct.
I find it really funny that Jeremy Irons is in this film considering that he played the main villain of ACII in The Borgias.
Children of Dievas - my webcomic about the Northern CrusadesBrendan Gleeson is also in this, and he previously played Winston Churchill (who shows up in a brief but wonderful role in Assassins Creed Syndicate) in Into the Storm (2009).
It'd be fun if the movie incorporated that in some way and said Rikkin is actually a distant descedant of Rodrigo Borgia, and Lynch's dad is Churchill's great-nephew or somesuch.

"All you Fascists bound to lose.""So that's it huh?... We're some kind of... Assassin's Creed."
"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."Aaaaand it's getting absolutely mauled by critics.
Not surprising.
Inb4 the "Disney is bribing critics to bash Rogue One's competition" accusations.

Why would they complain? It's better than American-accented Middle Eastern man.
