With Disney releasing a live-action Cinderella movie to theaters next year, I'm wondering if this page needs a rename or a split. I have two ideas:

In this case, a move to Film.Rodgers And Hammersteins Cinderella is definitely more appropriate than a senseless split by year. This In Case You Forgot Who Wrote It attribution has been in canonical use at least as far back as the cover of the 1957 cast LP; though the R&H Organization's page for the show doesn't note it, I suspect that they require licensed productions to use the attribution (evidence: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7]).

I'd say that the year is the more useful destinguisher. Despite all of them being "Rodgers' and Hammerstein's Cinderella", there are a lot of difference between the Andrews, Warren and Brandy versions. Lumping the three together doesn't really do anything to clarify things.

Seems like going by year is the most logical, yes.

[up][up][up]None of this site's pages for Rodgers And Hammerstein musicals reference R&H in their titles.

I think years are better. Much more concise, and I find that dates are much more relatable than names.

Year is the standard usage, yes.

I, for one, find it somewhat difficult to think of works not set in the present by the dates of their production. It may be standard practice for film pages, but to me it feels like making separate pages for every single version of Street Fighter II.

It's a trailing statement of agreement.
