I'll open this one; the sandbox looks decent, although it needs some cleanup.
Thank you :) I am willing to do the effort to finish it up and fixx the description, whatever needs doing. I just need support that my fix is good and/or suggestions for what is better, if you don't like it
Just keep in mind that they aren't "forgotten" as in "no-one remembers them". They're "forgotten" as in ""not used anymore, not even in parody form"
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.^ Ah, yes. I had forgotten. In that case superman changing in a phone booth is fair, i rescind my objection to that one.

I like the sandbox.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'm not sure Forgotten Trope is the best name here. It's old and unused, but its inclusion on the page means it's hardly forgotten. Some of them (like Superman's relation to phone booths) are still remembered and may be parodied and lampshaded even if the trope isn't used straight anymore.
I think Obsolete Trope gives a better clue as to what is happening, though at the same time I'm aware that few people use "obsolete" correctly. Or perhaps Disused Trope.
I like the chronological organisation of the sandbox very much.
I'm pretty sure "not used anymore" is just Dead Horse Trope, while Forgotten Trope is for things not even in the public mind anymore, at all.
I agree with you, however, that this does not apply to Superman changing in a phone booth. Personally, i think that's just not an example of a forgotten trope. BUT I suppose thats up to other to decide
Outside of what is and isn't a Forgotten Trope (which isnt the main thing I brought up here anyway) If I'm seeing some agreement, does that mean I should put up a crowner for what to do? Can I even do that?
Like it would be
1. Keep Current version, just clean it up
2. Use new orginization, but keep divided by media
3. Use new orginization and divide by time period
Is that how this works?
EDIT: Oh dear, I just realized Discredited Trope has the same orginization problem, although the examples aren't as bad as this one. Well, one thing at a time, I suppose. :(

So can any one think of a Forgotten Trope?. What about Frankenstein? Would he fit the this Trope?. I think that Batman May be probably in this Trope changing his clothes to using his gadgets.

Or here's another *Example Forgotten Trope Batman villain calenderman fit that better and I guess Vampires fit the Forgotten Trope since its irelavant now. Ghost Busters fit the Forgotten Trope. Since I guess it won't be made again Does that count though. ?

Works cannot be Forgotten Trope. Or rather the only thing that can be a Forgotten Trope is a trope.
If I have it right:
- Discredited Trope: A trope is still used straight, but is considered hackneyed or clichéd.
- Dead Horse Trope: A trope is subverted, parodied or otherwise played as often or more often than it is played straight.
- Forgotten Trope: A trope is no longer used by creators.
I prefer the time-organized version of the sandbox to the medium-organized one since many of the tropes don't seem medium-exclusive.
Not right away, not right awayCrowner's hooked.
Horay! Thank you Willbyr!
Now everyone: VOTE!
I voted with the popular kids.
Forgotten Trope should be an index as well. Looks like the other categories like Dead Horse Trope are.
^ yea, good plan. I'll do that when I change it over
There are a few more examples in the Sandbox which I don't know where to put. Can someone please help me out with that so that I can switch it over to the page? :) Thanks!
Corpulence as a sign of wealth in the western world likely started in the mediaeval era and was used more in the Renaissance era. If it's going by when the trope was forgotten, then it probably'd go in the Older than Steam folder.
Teleprinter news theme would probably go in the 1960s-1990s folder.
Not right away, not right awayOk, thank you! I looked up the others on wikipedia, so lets hope i got them in the right folders
I changed it over now! How does it look, ok?
It looks like some people had made some changes and/or added examples since i started fixing it, so when i ge tthe chance ill incorperate their changes into my final version.
"Everything's Greener with Chlorophyll" seems a bit like a bad snowclone. Maybe something like "Naturally healing chlorophyll".
Looks good otherwise.
Not right away, not right awayHmm, the changes are looking good:) any idea for a Forgotten Trope? I can't think of any right now.

Is every thing done on this page?

Yes, unless someone wants to argue in favour of @8's proposal. I am inclined to lock this one anyhow, since that rename proposal can get its own thread.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAlright.
Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
This page is rather a mess. Is this an index or what? It contains examples of tropes mixed with examples of works which reference forgotten tropes, orginized bizarly, with examples all over the place in the wrong folders, and lots of misuse.
I suggest that non-trope examples be removed and the page be reorginized like this:
This is how Dead Horse Trope and Dead Unicorn Trope and Discredited Trope are orginized, although it is slightly different since those three pages are indexes of tropes with their own page, while most forgotten tropes do not have their own pages. Still, i see no reason not to have them orginized as if they could have their own page. (Moreover, it will cut down on people adding examples which arent tropes if they need to format the examples as tropes) I have done this and made a sandbox page. link
(Also, I think if a trope has a lot of examples, it would be a good idea to take it to YKTTW,
however, this can wait for the momentThat's independant of this TRS so i'ma do it on my own)Moreover, given that this is apperently a page about tropes, I don't see why it is orginized by media, IIRC, we dont do that any more. None of the three similar pages are orginzed at all, however, this page has many more examples than they do and needs some form of division.
Scratch that: it definately should not be orginzed by medium- look at this, the "Reno is for Divorces" trope is listed under Film, although several of the examples are from TV, then in Live-Action TV, there is an entry saying "Mash uses the 'Reno is for divorces' trope (see Film)". Oh, and the Mad Men example is listed as a bullet point under both the Film and Live-Action TV entries.
I suggest that the page be orginized roughly by the time period they were popular. It couldnt be exact, of course, but when we're talking about long-forgotten tropes i think it would be usefull to seperate tropes used in ancient greek plays from tropes used in Guys And Dolls. I have also done this and made a second sandbox like that link
Finally, I also feel that many of these examples are not actually forgotten, particularly those from recently. Like, Superman changing in a phone booth. Thats really not forgotten, is it? Things like that are common pop culture, so it is actually a Dead Unicorn Trope. I removed two other examples like that, they're listed under the "removed entries" folder.
Thank you!
