It's because it's in a link. If you restructure the entry so the symbol is outside the link, it should work okay.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

In the Super Smash Bros. page, the Omega symbol (Ω) in the Shout-Out part isn't showing up properly, it shows up as Ω instead. Is this happening elsewhere in the wiki?
EDIT: Well well well, it looks like it doesn't work in the thread title either, even though the symbol is working perfectly in this message. o_O
