Considering it's the build shown to the ERSB, there might be more stuff, or it was put together fast, which explains the bad quality and placement of characters. It's old. The clones were probably added a bit later, so they weren't sure where to place them and threw them onto a quick spot temporarily. Regardless of more unlocks, I think they'll eventually be next to their overall series in some way. Whether above like Ganondorf, or to the side.
You realize that "It looks bad, therefore it must be real!" is not a very good argument. "If he was a leaker, he'd want to think that it was real! Why would he make it look bad?" This does not refute the fact that Sakurai most likely would not put the clones in the corner. Maybe the leaker just put them there at the end? Maybe the leaker was using reverse reverse psychology, and tried to make it look faker by putting those characters there? There are a lot of possibilities.
See, that's a better rebuttal.

"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy."Yeah, I gotta agree. Disregarding the 5 (or more) extra characters that the leaker implicated later on during his spree, the roster interface just looked really unfinished, like there was extra spaces that were not shown on the footage or the pictures.
Vote. .#Bayonetta 4 SmashRemember, we stilldon't have hard confirmation of the status of unlockable characters, or even hints one way or another, so it's still possible, and really, plausible, that they're still in. Toon Link and the rest do muddy the waters a bit, but maybe they just wanted to be more liberal with the character reveals this time around, try to build up hype with some unlockable characters.
"And kung fu is a terrible way to run a company" - alliteratorSeeing how Game & Watch hasn't been confirmed yet, I'd say there's a 99% chance characters are still unlockable.
Hell, Sheik and Toon Link could've swapped locked/unlocked statuses too. We really don't know at all. With Sheik no longer a transformation, she could easily not be a starter.
There's really no easy conclusions this time around. Not with some major changes to the character selection alone.
Why do people believe that there won't be unlockable characters? Is there anything that would even remotely support this idea?
Previously unlockable characters like Toon Link, Luigi and Lucario have already been shown. In my opinion, that doesn't necessarily mean that they'll be available from the start or that there won't be any unlockable characters. Luigi is definitely a big enough character to be starter material by now though, tradition is the only reason he's still hidden as of Brawl.
Cortex should take a 12-step plan off a 10-step pierThat...doesn't really prove anything at all.
Mario Kart 8 revealed all its characters and you still had to work to get the full shitty roster.
For the last time, nobody wants to hear your bitching.

Trans rights are human rights.Question: with Shulk confirmed, does this confirm the leak or throw more doubt at it?
"And kung fu is a terrible way to run a company" - alliteratorIt adds to the credibility of the leak.
Also, Dark Pit Trailer ahoy!

His art is exactly the same as the one on the leak. Although it doesn't confirm everything that's in the leaks, it's pretty good evidence.
DeerDuck Hunt Dog FTW. That is all.
Yeah, one of the biggest issues the leak had was the fact that the renders on the CSS could have been faked just like Klonoa and Protoman in the past. Shulk was a pretty obvious pick - he would fit well in Smash and everyone wanted him in - but the question was if his render was gonna match the one on the leak. And it looks like it very much does.
A little late in responding to this, but this line of thinking pisses me off so much. The Game Xplain video especially grinded my gears because everyone was like "Cool, the Duck Hunt Dog is in! This has to be real!" except for the one guy who was like "This leak is bullshit! Wolf isn't in!" Yes, it makes sense to care about what characters get in, but at least be objective enough to understand that a personal wish list or set of expectations mean nothing.
I think you are talking about the Japan Time podcast I posted
His up-smash is unmistakeable. This is definitely the same Shulk as the leak video.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerAre we talking about the render matching the CSS leak or the gameplay pictures? I just got up and haven't checked, so a quick note will make it far easier on me.(and slowish computer)
I was pretty much "no way the gameplay videos could be faked", so that doesn't surprise me that it's real.

same feelings about how it couldn't have been faked. My bestie was trying to claim maybe it was a Brawl hack, but with all the different moves Shulk and Jr had, Jr.s lively animations, him hitting the screen after being K.O.'d, the black and red critical streaks in the Shulk video, and the fact they would have had to program all that stuff in the span of about 4 days? No way that could have been hacked.
The Bowser Jr. bit I couldn't find hackable. But Shulk is well known enough that somebody could've made that video a long time ago. It was even on a Brawl stage.
But eh. Just glad it's fully confirmed by the actual trailers. Also, CSS is real. Duck Hunt Dog confirmed. I can't wait for the regular official confirmation.
OK, stop with all the drama and bitching.
I will start issuing thumps if I have to.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Don't worry, my personal "boo hoo low expectations WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE" stage is over for now. The trailer changed that. Like it did for Pac Man.

Nah, I'm saying it's convincing because a faker wouldn't do that. I do think the CSS order looks stupid, but it's a CSS, so if that's what it looks like, I don't really care. Plus, they might move to where they're supposed to go after unlocking everyone.
Besides, maybe that's not the final build. I've done a tiny, tiny bit of Brawl hacking and the CSS order is one of the easiest things to edit; I imagine it's the same for the devs themselves. They'll probably change it.
Edit: Oi, page-topping. Wee.
