RIP Mr. Attenborough. I view this one with mixed feelings. It's sad that he's dead, but I've had this vague idea for years that he was already dead, so hearing that he only now just died, means he lived a lot longer than I originally thought. So for that, I am happy.
So, the rule of three strikes again. What a real shame.
Rest in peace, Sir Richard.
Oops, it was Lord Richard.

Like I said in the RIP Thread:
It has been a shitty year in the film department.
RIP Mr. Attenborough
A great actor, not-bad director and indisputable influence on British cinema. I'll always remember John Hammond, but Ten Rillington Place is his best performance.
So with James Garner also gone, does that mean with Attenborough's death, the entire Great Escape team is gone?
EDIT-
No, we still have Mc Callum...

Final Fantasy, Foreign Policy, and Bollywood. Helluva combo, that...Don't jinx it, please.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!
Richard "Lord Dickie" Attenborough, best known for directing the epic Gandhi and Cry Freedom, as well as playing John Hammond in Jurassic Park and Big X in The Great Escape, as passed away. He was 90 years old.
His career in film spanned fifty years. He won two Academy Awards, four BAFTAs, and four Golden Globes. He was also very active politically, campaigning for the left-wing British Labour Party and raising money on behalf of various good causes. It was his political outspokenness which landed him the director's chair for Gandhi, in fact.
Damn, this is sad. Right after Williams and Bacall too. Still, 90 is a decent innings for a great man. He will be sorely missed. And now, a little something to remember him by:
Dr Grant...my dear Dr Sattler: Welcome...to Jurassic Park.
