Just took a look at that ending.

Is it just me, or is that thing with Lana and Cia prime fuel for both yuri fanboys and self-cest lovers?

Also, I'm still hoping Zelda gets a skin that puts her in her Wind Waker dress. I want to see what she looks like in that one as an adult.

Cia is taller than lana. I wouldn't have expected that, since they are supposed to be the same person.

@2201 I have to get the game back out, but I think Cia wears full-on heels, while Lana wears smaller platforms. So I think the model for Cia does stand taller, but she's cheating with her shoes. Also, for what it's worth, I think Lana slouches a little.

So it seems that the Japanese version of Legends already has translation files for English and European languages, so if one could bypass the region-lock, they could easily import the game and still understand even the new content.

Been playing Sheik for a while to get all her hearts in the original Adventure Map.

I've learned an interesting thing: You know how Bosses elemental weaknesses has to do with how the Weak Point Gauge depletes faster if hit by the element they're weak to? Well, they're actually not weak to elements per see, but to elemental effects. Since they can't be affected by elemental effects the way normal enemies and officers do, the elemental effect that would've applied to the attack instead determines if the attack can deplete the boss's Weak Point Gauge faster.

And it's the elemental effect that would have been applied that determines this, not the weapon's actual element. This means that Bolero of Fire can take down almost all of Manhandla's Weak Point Gauge yet leave Argorok's Weak Point Gauge at the half-way point, yet Bolero of Fire doesn't actually do more damage against enemies weak against fire. You could take this to mean that while enemies like Stalmasters and Agitha are weak to Fire (which is not applied by the Harp's Bolero and C3), Manhandla is actually weak against the Fire effect (which is applied by Bolero and C3) and not the element itself.

On Sheik herself, she has an incredibly solid moveset and has tools for just about any situation, but has some flaws that prevents her from reaching top tier status. I recently completed a 5-star 8-slot weapon for her:

1. Strong Attack+
2. Strength III
3. Strength IV
4. Strength V
5. Strength VI
6. No Healing
7. Special Attack+
8. Finishing Blow+

All the C# skills that needs the damage increase + No Healing for overall boost in damage. Then couple in Special Attack+ for increased damage overall against enemies stronger than mooks (because her Special Attack is rather weak otherwise) and Finishing Blow+ to secure a higher attack and potential KOs against officers and giant bosses.

[up] I don't know what all is on my best harp, but the two important things it has are Hasty Attacks and Strength III. Sheik's C3 is pretty much the only combo I use when I play her, and HA makes it really spammable.

Also, a tip: The Nocturne of Shadow will trap enemies long enough for you to use the Bolero of Fire on them.

Hasty attacks would mean you cast all of your attacks faster so you can go through combos to cast the right elemental effects faster. So, it wouldn't benefit you if you don't use standard attacks.

[up] I think Sheik is plenty fast enough. The damage output of her attacks are seriously weak, even with Hasty Attacks, and the one attack with the biggest range (her special attack) is especially weak against anything higher than mooks (but rips said mooks to shreds).

The Wind Waker Demon King mission is now up on youtube if you look hard enough.

LEGENDS SPOILERS AHOY:

Unsurprisingly, Ganondorf is the one who summons Ganon this time around, as he was the Final Boss of Wind Waker. Even if you're using Ganondorf as a playable member of your strike force. An interesting thing about this final mission is that Ganondorf's boss theme plays continually throughout the level up until Ganon is summoned, and (somewhat unsurprisingly, but interesting to take note of) Ganon is the only boss whose boss theme will play over Ganondorf's. For everyone else (even Cia, masked or unmasked), only the theme that plays for the first half of the first Legend Mode map plays up until Ganon is summoned.

Also, the Adventure Mode credits are altered like the Legend Mode credits to account for every character this time around like 8-bit Zant getting struck down by 8-bit Twili Midna, Volga and Wizzro get their own screens (and are struck down by Ghirahim for Volga and Young Link & Tingle for Wizzro). Tetra and the King strike down Helmaroc King, Toon Link strikes down Phantom Ganon, and Linkle strikes down Skull Kid.

BTW, remember the argument we've had about Sheik's elemental attacks we had way back? Well, I did some actual testing on it, and I've confirmed my claims that Sheik's elemental attacks do lightning damage, but also that something else determines if a Giant Boss WPG is weak to a particular elemental attack.

The test subjects were, in descending order:

  • Darunia and Impa from the same mission, damage-testing with attack string-to-C5; Sheik's attack that's visually of the dark element and which applies the dark elemental effect as well. Darunia being neutral to and Impa being weak against darkness, Impa should have had more damage taken from her, but they both suffered equal damage when I had performed my test.
  • Argorok and Manhandla from the same mission, WPG-testing with C1-Bolero of Fire, an attack that is visually a fire elemental attack and which applies the fire elemental effect. Argorok being weak against lightning and Manhandla being weak against fire, Argorok should technically have had more of his WPG chipped off if elemental damage was what determined if a Giant Boss WPG was susceptible to an elemental attack. It was Manhandla (the one weak against fire) who had it's WPG depleted the most.
  • Zelda and Lana from the same mission, damage-testing with C1-Bolero of Fire. Zelda being neutral to and Lana being weak against lightning, they should both have taken the same amount of damage assuming their HP total was the same and Bolero was of the fire element, but Lana took more damage from Bolero of Fire, something that can only be explained by her weakness against lightning kicking in.

Then there's some control tests done on these characters:

  • Agitha and Midna from the same mission, damage-testing with C1-Bolero of Fire. Agitha being weak against and Midna taking neutral damage from fire makes for an excellent test to see if Bolero of Fire is indeed actually doing fire-elemental damage. Both Midna and Agitha was equally damaged by Bolero of Fire, despite the fact that Agitha should have taken more damage if it actually did fire-elemental damage.
  • Ganondorf from the same mission as Zelda and Lana, damage-testing with C1 Bolero of Fire, simply to see if all officers had the same HP in a given mission when they're all in the same mission, and also to test on yet another enemy who takes neutral damage from lightning. Ganondorf took the same damage as Zelda did, so this again confirms that Sheik's elemental attacks do lightning damage instead of what they seem to do.
  • The same Argorok and Manhandla which I tested C1-Bolero against, WPG-testing with attack string-to-C4, an attack which is visually lightning elemental and which applies the lightning element effect. Argorok's WPG was indeed damaged more than Manhandla's when I used an attack that actually looked like lightning on both of them than when I used and attack that looked like fire.

Bosses' Weak Point Gauges do indeed take damage from attacks whose elements correspond to their weakness, so elemental damage cannot be what determines if a boss is more susceptible to that elemental attack. I'm actually 100% sure that what really determines if a Giant Boss WPG is suceptible to an elemental attack is the elemental effect that is applied by the attack. So since Sheik's C1-Bolero applies the Fire Effect, it does more damage against Manhandla's WPG than Argorok's, while the opposite applies for Sheik's C4.

Meanwhile, Sheik's elemental attacks all do lightning damage instead of the element that they visually look like. The tests on the character enemies, as well as the control tests I've done afterwards confirm this.

Here are my findings if you guys are interested.

FAQ

Why is there a difference in content between the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U Season Passes?

With Hyrule Warriors: Legends, we wanted to provide extra content that takes advantage of the game’s new features for those enjoying the new My Fairy Mode and enhanced Adventure Mode on Nintendo 3DS family systems.

How much will the DLC cost?

DLC Pack
Master Wind Waker Pack (DLC Pack 1) £1.79 / €1,99 (Content unavailable on Wii U)
Link's Awakening Pack (DLC Pack 2) £6.29 / €6,99 (3DS only) £4.49 / €4,99 (Wii U only) £8.09 / €8,99 (3DS + Wii U)
Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks Pack (DLC Pack 3) £6.29 / €6,99 (3DS only) £4.49 / €4,99 (Wii U only) £8.09 / €8,99 (3DS+Wii U)
A Link Between Worlds Pack (DLC Pack 4) £6.29 / €6,99 (3DS only) £4.49 / €4,99 (Wii U only) £8.09 / €8,99 (3DS + Wii U)

What's the benefit of getting a Season Pass over purchasing the individual DLC packs?

As well as receiving an exclusive The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker-themed Ganondorf costume when purchasing a Season Pass, players will save money in comparison to buying each DLC Pack individually.

Purchase option
Legends of Hyrule Pack Season Pass £13.49 / €14,99 (3DS only) £8.99 / €9,99 (Wii U only) £15.29 / €16,99 (3DS + Wii U)
All DLC Packs when purchased individually £20.66 / €22,96 (3DS only) £13.47 / €14,97 (Wii U only) £26.06 / €28,96 (3DS + Wii U)

I already have Hyrule Warriors for Wii U and don't plan to purchase Hyrule Warriors: Legends for Nintendo 3DS. What are my options?

Owners of Hyrule Warriors for Wii U can purchase the Wii U Only Season Pass to access upcoming downloadable content for £8.99 / €9,99, or download each pack separately for £4.49 / €4,99 each.
The Legends Character Pack, which costs £10.79 / €11.99 and will launch in summer 2016, includes Linkle, Skull Kid, Tetra, Toon Link, King Daphnes and Ganondorf's trident weapon. This pack is not available as part of the Legends of Hyrule Pack Season Pass. Tetra, King Daphnes, Skull Kid and Ganondorf's new trident weapon will not be available to purchase outside of this pack.

Where can I purchase the various Season Passes?

The Nintendo 3DS Only and Nintendo 3DS + Wii U Season Passes can only be purchased within Hyrule Warriors: Legends on Nintendo 3DS. On March 24th, Hyrule Warriors: Legends will receive an update that adds the Add-On Content option in the Extras menu that will allow players to purchase DLC and the Season Pass.
The Wii U Only Season Pass can be purchased via Nintendo eShop on Wii U or within Hyrule Warriors by pressing the + Button on the main menu to be taken to the Hyrule Warriors Nintendo eShop page. Nintendo eShop is also where customers must input the download code given with Hyrule Warriors: Legends to download the new characters into Hyrule Warriors.

Hopes for each pack:

LA: Marin character, with Bow-wow as her weapon type. Roc's Feather (or Cape) weapon for Linkle, with considerable usage of dive-kick attacks (level 3 is a Helmaroc Cape, with her wearing his mask)

PH/SS: Linebeck character. Phantom Armor weapon for Toon Link, allowing him to fight alongside Phantom Zelda, with at least one move involving them running an enemy down with the Spirit Train.

ALBW: Ravio character, with Bag as weapon type (involves him using his inventory of bows, boomerangs, bombs, Hookshot, and four magic rods as weapons). Levels are Rented Bag, Ravio's Bag, Nice Bag. And either Hilda or Yuga character.

I have a message from another time...
