First place to go: Welcome to TV Tropes. Read it and the stuff it links to.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"When you edit please do so carefully. Don't shoehorn something where it doesn't belong. In other words don't put in a Square Peg Round Trope and when you add something make sure your example says how it fits the page so it's not a Zero Context Example. Read through the description and at least a few of the examples to help you know if something is actually an example. For other editing help see "Editing Articles" on Welcome To TV Tropes.
Also, be careful when using other people's edits as a template for how you should do it yourself. Many other editors are making bad edits at least occasionally.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThanks for all the help you guys, it's great to see that you have a very helpful and responsive community here. Now, it's been about 24 hours since registering and I decided I should get to work on my Troper page. However, lo and behold, whenever I tried to create the page, I was redirected to an "Edit Pause" page. Does anyone know why this might be occurring, or if there is something I'm doing wrong? Thank you all again for the help.
PS: Since you're obviously a very experienced troper, do you think you could help with this,~Septimus Heap

He's so Badass that he writes romance novels. No,seriously. The edit pause is designed to throttle edits from new users in case they turn out to be vandals of some sort. It shouldn't be happening on your first attempt to edit. You might need the help of our administrator, ~Fast Eddie.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Thank you. :) I was asking how to post that page on the Fan Works index and where I should put it. It's really confusing me and I'm terrified I'll mess something up.
Edit: Thank you again, seriously!!

~Star Wars Lover: Please be aware that if you don't fill out that article with content, it'll be cut as a stub. Don't use the wiki to draft your work if it's going to take a significant amount of time to complete. Rather, you can use the Sandbox namespace or do it offline.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Yay! I made it work! Tysm!
Oh, don't you worry. That Fan Works page is going to be decked out. -sweatdrops- like a Thanksgiving dinner table attended by an extremely extended family
Hiya. As you might've guessed, I'm new here. Now, as far as I'm aware, there's a 24 hour period in which I cannot create my own Troper page, edit an existing page, or do anything particularly interesting (someone fact-check me on this if I'm wrong). But, while I'm here, I suppose I'd ask you guys (PS: Thanks for having me here. I'd post to the newcomer's forum, but there's a time restriction) if you had any tips, advice, or otherwise any useful information for your new fellow troper as I get accustomed to being a member on the site. That being said, thank you all in advance for any help you can provide.
