They both suck...definitely need something new.
Neither is worth being burned in a volcano. Or in other words, they are both bad.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThis needs an actual Overly Long Gag, like the image on Star Scraper.

Put bluntly, both suck.
"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenThe old picture actually works if we put it on the page four or five times (e.g. two at the top, then two more a couple of pages down, and one at the end).
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Could we fit the image inside every folder? Right aligned like say character pages. Although cropping it to make it not as tall but moving the bottom text box higher to stay within the crop would make that less annoying.
For kicks we could try having each image be different, representing the respective medium, but have the same text boxes plastered on it.
Yeah, current only works if you've seen Family Guy. But they both suck. Looked in examples. We could use the cycle diagram from this: [1]◊
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.I really like the idea of putting the Deja Vu Kid image on the page several times.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I am sooo tempted to agree ... I'll agree to it.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAnother vote for repeating Deja Vu kid.
—R.J.
I support that too.
Can we see a sandbox preview of what you had in mind with Deja vu kid?
Would also like to see a sandbox before I voice an opinion.
"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenI only put it in the folders that were long enough that it didn't hang down into the next one. It could be put in fewer folders, there are a couple folders that are long enough that it could be put in the same folder twice, and it can be swapped from side to side more or less often.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I don't think it should ever be on the left; that seems to not play nice with the bullet indentation.
That said, I added it into a few of the longer folders a second time, and did a Punched Across the Room-styled stinger. Stinger's caption could use work, though.

Moon◊That's pretty good. The only change I'd make is to move the pic in the Comic Book folder up a few entries; on my big monitor it's hanging out of the bottom of the folder. There's one other that it's doing that in but it's a short folder so that's not a big deal.
I likeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the sandbox.

The Wrestling folder might be a bit short. On my monitor the image is exactly as long as the opened folder. on a different size or resolution it could well be that the image is taller than the opened folder.
Stinger suggestion:

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.lol
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. That caption works for me.
Image changed without discussion; I'm at loss to say whether it's an improvement or a regression, though. Neither are really good illustration...
