Good God..totally did not see that coming! Even after the countless commercials and obvious hints! Simpsons sure does know how to be unpredictable

And the episode has a happy ending. At least semi-happy.
(I will also note that the couch gag was by Don Hertzfeldt, he of Rejected.)
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Seemed an easy kill-off, anyway. A good way to help diversify Krusty's character.
That couch gag was cool.
This was actually quite a Tear Jerker. Of course, I do have a personal stake in it, since my own father passed away suddenly almost three years ago. I'm old enough to be Lisa's mom, yet Lisa's fear of Homer's mortality hit close to home too. Ever since my dad's passing, I badger my mother to see a doctor if she has so much as a sore throat.
All in all, it was an excellent episode and if they're smart, it's the one that will be submitted for Emmy consideration. I have to admit that I wasn't a fan of the couch gag, though.
And this shows Family Guy fans DO have a heart.
I thought the couch gag was pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of Hertzfedlt, but it was interesting nonetheless.
They should just have the episodes be couch gags. Or cut the show to 30 seconds I kid.

Supports cartoons being cartoony! So who else honestly thought it couldn't have been anyone other than Rabbi Krustofski?
You'd be surprised. From what I've seen, the most popular guesses outside of the rabbi were Krusty, Grampa, Mrs. Krabappel, and Sideshow Bob.
Of course we do.
Apparently a lot of people were mad it was Rabbi Krustofski. I guess because they were expecting a major character to die. But as my brother points out, it's hard to find a major character on the Simpsons who isn't iconic.
These people are obviously new to TV. Some of the reactions on IMDB were ridiculously over-the-top.
I love Don Hertzfeldt's stuff, but that couch gag went too long.
The sequence with Homer's breathing mask was more scary than funny, because it's clearly a CPAP, and I use a BiPAP myself, beginning to notice the effects when I don't use it.

Fresh-eyed movie blog
So who dies tonight?
Well, let's just say that Ms. Redhed may have been right after all...
