Character Look-Alikes

One would say we're at a time where there are several character who look like each other, whether they are Expies or not. It can really get into our heads. I bet some people wonder how they even started.

Here are two examples:

Rei Hino from Sailor Moon and Kagome from Inuyasha. Maybe also Reimu from Touhou Project.

Why all familiar? They're long blacked haired girls around teens age, who are major protagonists in their respective stories. Plus, they're Mikos.

The next one is more trivial.

- Araya, one of the antagonists of Kara No Kyoukai

- Shin, the main antagonist of the hentai seires, Mahou Shoujo Ai San

- One of the scientists in the opening video of Radiant Silvergun.

Hard it pin it with my limited vocabulary. Just adult males around 30s , who are well dressed and have similar facial features.

Any idea where this all came from? Any more examples?

I always thought Himawari from the anime by the same name looked a lot like Yuffie from Final Fantasy VII.

You forgot Akise Aru from Future Diary.

And the bookseller pony from Amending Fences looked a bit like Honey Lemon.
