I was playing around with TV Tropes story generator and got an interesting set of ideas I want to see if I can make work. The setting has to be Ocean Punk, and the plot must involve a scavenger hunt, with the main hero being The Big Guy and the antagonists being Arc Villain s.

So far, I've come up with a pirate woman who was attacked by a shark at a young ag, resulting in her getting robotic parts to replace the parts of herself she lost, along with boosted physical strength and a few new gadgets in exchange for a less than attractive appearance. She and the rest of the crew sail around and attack various towns or merchant ships. My only real problem is how to incorporate the narrative device, Speed Dating. Anyone have any ideas?

I have two ideas, blatantly ripped off from Blue Heelers and Jade Empire.

In the former a number of women are robbed, and the police discover they were part of a speed dating ring. So Evan and Susie go undercover where they get five minutes with each prospective partner and they explain who their ideal man or woman is, who just turn out to be each other.

In the latter a pirate girl is harassing a baker and having him beat up, where it turns out he made a childhood promise to marry her but having completely forgotten about it and met another woman she's upset. Defuse this and you can try and find a husband for her, offering yourself if you like but she wants to settle down rather than go adventuring. A couple of choices are a dim witted simpleton who wants a girl, and a better choice a talented but weak spined artist the pirate girl can give some steel.

I might be able to tweak something out of that first idea. As the pirate ship follows a map around the various ports in search of Mac Guffins, the pirate woman is dragged into speed dating by another crew member every time the ship stops. Each session they do somehow leads to a new Arc Villain to compete with.
