On this day, we corenate the new Queen of Velspa! On this day, a new era will reign!

It’s been fifteen years ever since the Velspin War of Succession. Other nations raced for the crown but eventually the Delphinia Confederacy had seized power. Now with their seat in royalty a new era had been set.

People were given jobs, treated fairly — the nation flourished. Now on this momentous occasion - on this day - people are celebrating the coronation of a new Queen since the passing of her mother of illness.

A great festival is being held in the capital city!

Now, who will attend?


Artes and Magic

Magical arts or physical specials performed by channeling Mana into the body and expelling it. In other Tales games, the way this is used comes in different shapes and sizes. In Tales of the Chamber, Artes are performed through binding oneself to a powerful Spirit (constructs of mana) through use of a ritual. Think of them as a Familiar. The contract is sealed by a bonding of the Spirit to the contracter's soul. This is called a 'Union'. There are variety of spirits that fall under the dominion of one of the Greater Spirits:

  • Sylph: Greater Spirit of Wind
  • Undine: Greater Spirit of Water
  • Celsius: Greater Spirit of Ice
  • Efreet: Greater Spirit of Fire
  • Gnome: Greater Spirit of Earth
  • Luna: Greater Spirit of the Moon
  • Shadow: Greater Spirit of Darkness
  • Rem: Greater Spirit of the Sun
  • Aska: Greater Spirit of Light
  • Volt: Greater Spirit of Lightning

And above these Great Spirits are the the Great Four who allow the world to live and themselves are integral to the ways of the world. They are unique and do not have a normal capacity to form a Union.

NOTE: World-building is encouraged! Talk to me about any ideas you might have, we’ll see if we can implement them into the world.


  • Velspa: A traditional monarchy in the vein of Medieval Europe except not as bad. Very large, encompassing about 1/4th of the continent of Enthia. Climate is typically mediterranean. Has a large commercial following. Most money is made from mining and exports of metal. Is home to the Greater Spirit of the Moon, Luna.
  • Vaquis: Smaller nation lying to the south of Velspa. Participated in the Velspin War of Succession and lost most of their land as a result of the loss. About the same as Velspa. Country who makes most of its money from farming. Shrines dedicated to the Greater Spirit Gnome can be found all over the region.
  • Nejuku: A nation that lies across the ocean near the edge of any World Map. The source of our world’s equivalent to Japanese culture. Known for their skilled Assassins and hired swords. Home to the Greater Spirit of Darkness, Shadow.
  • Daeva: Middle-eastern(esque) country lying much further south than Vaquis compared to Velspa. Very hot, very desert. As you can guess - this is home to the Greater Spirit of Fire, Efreet.

RACES
  • Humans: Most of the planet's populace is made up of humans. They're what you would call the inbetween. Jack-of-all trades and Masters of none! They are really expansionist, wanting to go out into the world and expand. Share a lot of similarities with Dwarves.
  • Elves: The prissy forest folk are who relatively good at magic and communicating with Greater Spirits. They have the capacity to have two Union Spirits at the expense of being physically weaker. So if an elf gets into a physical fight, their best chance is to run.
  • Nomials: Beastfolk that are limber, faster and strong to boot! They have the highest physical capabilities out of all four of the major races. They have the aptitude to form a bond with a Union Spirit, but have difficulty accurately applying their abilities (meaning they can't use Magic, only Artes).
  • Dwarves: Short, stout folk with a lot of muscle. While Elves are good at learning magic and communicating with spirits, Dwarves are excellent engineers and craftsman. They are masters of the forge and can create new, unique weapons, probably even on the spot. It doesn't hurt to know that they are physically strong as well as durable. Not very fast though. They have the capacity to have a Union Spirit - though their 'movepool', so to speak, would be very limited.

Though deep down Chavra does care for Alicia — if that isn't obvious — but she also has to act in the best interest of Luna. Though what exactly does this mean?

    • Effect: Heals all allies within range with a powerful gale of magical wind. Can heal the more complex wounds that First Aid cannot. Doesn't fully energize those it heals.

    • Incantation: "Oh blackened sky, lul my enemies to slumber! Starry Night!"
    • Effect: A chance of putting a group of enemies to sleep with a blanket of darkness imitating a relaxing starry sky.

    • Name: Warped Gale
    • Element: Dark
    • Incantation: "Oh fluxing wind, repel all who stand in my path! Warped Gale!"
    • Effect: Powerful black winds stir up while bringing enemies in and, once trapped, an explosion of slicing wind comes from its center.

    • Name: Beast
    • Effect: Channel energy in for a powerful strike resembling a ferocious lion head. A heavy hitting attack that can stagger the mightiest foe.

    • Name: Beastial Rain
    • Effect: Channel energy into the sword arm to enable powerful successive strikes before ending with a forward thrust. Again, capable of staggering foes.

    • Name: Swallow Dance
    • Effect: A flurry of slashes and kicks while juggling the enemy up into the air (at least if they're light weight) and finishing with a powerful uppercut slash.

    • Name: Moonlight Demon
    • Effect: A two slash attack where the first forms the visage of a moon and the second bisects it, sending a ground-traveling projectile in every direction.

    • Name: Orbital Blitz
    • Effect: An omnidirectional charge that allows Alicia to thrust her blade anywhere she pleases. If she were to jump once then use Orbital Blitz, it would allow for a pseudo-second jump. This is an attack of her own invention which one can tell by looking at it since it's rather impractical.

    • Name: Demon Fang
    • Effect: A standard projectile that travels along the ground before slashing into the enemy it hits. Not very powerful, but it is versatile.

    • Name: Tiger Blade
    • Effect: Two hit combo where Alicia rises up with a powerful slash then comes straight back down.

    • Name: Sonic Thrust
    • Effect: Powerful forward thrust with the sword that knocks enemies back. Less wind-up than Beast though not as powerful.

  • Personality: Someone who was forced into a position that they really wouldn't like to be in. It was something like "Hey Alicia, you're Queen now! LET THE CORONATION BEGIN." Since this fate has a strange sense of humor, Alicia's been forced into the role of queen while her mother lay on her death bed. Or rather is already dead. With these new responsibilities — the tomboy had to throw away her lifestyle from before. Practicing with the other knights, learning how to become stronger — all will be put to the test now. She's normally a pretty happy girl that throws away her worries to the side for the sake of fun. Now she's put into a seat of actual power. The responsibilities of the entire nation are hers now. This has pushed anxiety, frustration and fear into her heart that not even Chavra can help mend.
  • Bio: The daughter of the original new queen and her father, of course, the king. With Alicia being the only child they were able to conceive — this no doubt means that she is the only heir to the throne. With the passing of her mother, there wasn't much of a decision in the matter. When she was a child, Alicia never thought she would become queen. She only wanted to have fun with her friends, fight with the knights, become a strong warrior! Not a ruler. Now the future has pressed her into a seat she doesn't want to be in. With the beginning of the coronation and the blessing of Luna, she was going to become the new queen.

  • Race: Human
  • Country of Origin: Pennia, a small forest kingdom renowned for it's skilled monster hunters where as a right of passage you are not considered an adult until you return home with a trophy from a worthy beast. This has caused many young ones to go from home and search the world for good hunts.

  • Appearance: "Oooh, so you want to hunt with me?"
  • Weapons: Starshine, a large sword imbued with runes to increase it's power.

    • Name: Callra
    • Parent: Luna
    • Appearance: The bird on his shoulder.
    • Personality: Callra is a spirit that puts big emphasis on loyalty on it's partner, expecting to care for him and for it to be cared for in need. As such Calla deeply respects Morgan and would follow Morgan to the ends of the world, if Morgan did the same for Callran. He is however a bit of a foul mouth and a greedy bastard.

      • Incantation: "Let the Moon illuminate the night and banish all Evil! Moonight Blade!
      • Effect: Starlight is encased in a white light and deals extra damage with every strike.
    • Hawk Strike
      • Effect: Morgan lunges forward and impales the enemy on his sword, and then rips it out, dealing extra damage.
    • New Moon Cutter
      • Element: Dark
      • Effect: Morgan slashes with his sword and a beam erupts from it to strike his enemies at a range.
    • Raptor Assault
      • Morgan first strikes the enemy from one direction, passes them and then strikes from another. Repeat a couple of times.
    • Mark of the Hunter
      • Effect: Morgan Marks an enemy as prey and that enemy takes extra damage for a while by Morgan and allies.
    • Falcon Dance
      • Element: Wind
      • Effect: Morgan unleashes a flurry of slashes in all directions, that aided by wind blows enemies away and damages them.
    • Maiming Strike
      • Effect: Morgan strikes at the opponents legs and cripples them, slowing them down.
    • Piercing Claw
      • Effect: Morgan strikes an enemy and shatters their armour, reducing their protection.
  • Personality: Morgan is a man that is always true to his word and does always try to accomplish his jobs to the best of his abilities. He is a hard worker but somehow seemingly laid back if a little arrogant, he is good and he knows it. He also claims that he only cares about money but deep down he has a good heart that wishes to help people.
  • Bio: Morgan's father was a mercenary monster hunter that was often away from home but managed to provide for his family through his contracts whilst his mother was a seamstress. The times when the father was home however he put Morgan through a grueling training regimen to make him an even better hunter than ol' pa', despite this and the absence Morgan idolized his father and viewed him as a hero. Unfortunately he never came home from one contract when Morgan was 14, and with his mother now also sick and unable to work Morgan had to go out at a way to young age and hunt down a worthy beast. After a month of no news the Village started to prepare for a funeral for him but Morgan interrupted the ceremony by throwing the head of a Griffon on his own coffin. Since then he has worked as a mercenary monster hunter like his old dad and has worked up a reputation big enough to be hired by the Crown. He's currently at the coronation, awaiting his payment for his latest job.

    • Personality:Not the most loyal of Union Spirits, Shed-Kor is a real gentleman, which is to say he hit on every woman he finds attractive of course, he is quite energetic and always smoothe with the ladies (or at least he tries to be). He has a very faint bond that he has formed with Afar due to all the battles and time they've been together for now.

      • Effect:Afar sends a quick projectile icicle towards his opponent with his sword. Not very strong but it is very easy to use and can be very quickly charged.

      • Effect:Afar hits his opponent with a rain of icicles, freezing the opponent and then charging his sword with energy and releasing it in a powerful strike resembling a lion's head that breaks the ice. A High-power arte that almost always staggers foes.

      • Effect:Afar quickly throws his opponent into the air with an upward cut and follows it with 3 slashes and a downward cut, sending the opponent to the floor.
    • Name:Frigid Moon
      • Elemental:Ice
      • Effect:A two slash attack where the first forms the visage of a frozen moon and the second bisects It. sending ice-spike projectiles in every direction

      • Elemental:Wind
      • Incantation:"Wind of the north, halt my foes in their path! Cold Turbine!"
      • Effect:Afar casts a strong cold tornado that freezes the opponent in place for a few seconds.

      • Incantation:"Oh forceful waves push my enemies afar! Turned Tide!"
      • Effects:Afar sends several harming waves of water towards his opponents that push them backwards.
    • Name:Dragon Dance
      • Effect:Afar makes an upward kick at his foe and slashes the opponent with an uppercut and then sends them to the ground.

      • Incantation:"Oh river of life grant us your gift. Healing Wave!"
      • Effect:A medium-sized circle appears where Afar wills it to that sends a refreshing wave of healing to his allies.

      • Effect:Afar kicks the opponent and quickly chases him and does followed by 2 staggering slashes that stop the opponent as he prepares a powerful shockwave of energy.
    • Name:Circling Rain
      • Effect:Afar hits his opponent with a staggering side-slash and then quickly steps to the side for another stab for 8 times.
    • Name:Beast
      • Effect:Channel energy in a powerful strike resembling a ferocious lion head. A heavy hitting attack that can stagger the mightiest foe.
    • Name:Headlock Light Spear
      • Effect:Afar tries to get grasp of his opponent, if he succeeds he makes a sweeping motion that strikes the enemy into the air.Then a second stab that radiates light while impaling the enemy.
    • Name:Icicle Rain
      • Elemental:Ice
      • Incantation:"Cloud of ice hurl at my enemies from above! Icicle Rain!
      • Effect:A circle appears above the opponent and sharp icicles fall down on the opponent.
    • Name:Extinction Frost
      • Elemental:Dark
      • ''Incantation:"Oh pained glaciers annihilate my enemies! Extinction Frost!"'
      • Effect:Below the opponent appears a circle of bloody ice, then rise from all over it projectiles almost like spears that then stab the opponent one by one.
  • Personality:Just like his powers of ice, Afar's blood runs cold, he can do the cruelest thing to accomplish a mission, not showing any remorse. However, to his allies and friends, despite his powers, Afar can be a rather warm person, he shows genuine care for others. And will help a friend in need. He is sarcastic quite a few times and a joker, quite humble and modest. Barely praising himself for a job well done.
  • Bio:Born to a family of blacksmiths, he lived his childhood learning how to craft from his parents, however once he was a teenager, he started trying to branch out to other professions. The one he always read stories about, heroes, warriors, soldiers. He learned from one of his friend's father swordsmanship for a few years before he decided to join the Daevan army. Serving in it, during the Velspin War of Succession he was noted as quite a remarkable warrior, however due to his rather un-noble upbringing his superiors did not want him gaining a high position, so they sent him as a gift to the Delphinia Confederacy to show their loyalty. There he gained a rather high position, one of the 10 Knights of the Greater Spirits. 10 Elite bodyguards, each using a different element that were all chosen to protect the royal family. He was, of course. The Knight of Ice and also one of Alicia's tutors throughout her childhood.

  • Name: Kuzunoha, "The Moonlight Devil"
  • Gender: Female
  • Race: Nomial
  • Country of Origin: Nejuku

  • Appearance: "Phew! It gets sweaty in this thing!"
  • Weapons: None, prefers an unarmed fighting style
  • Union Spirit:
    • Name: Tsukuyomi
    • Parent: Shadow
    • Appearance: A small white rabbit with golden earrings that perches itself in or on Kuzunoha's person whenever materialized. Unusually for a white rabbit, it's eyes are blue instead of red, and only become red under the influence of a harvest moon.
    • Personality: A very simple soul that doesn't seem to have much in the way of intellect or maturity beyond that of a child or a particularly intelligent animal (like, say, a rabbit). It adores Kuzunoha greatly, and seems to be the only thing she will willingly risk her life for. Very friendly, and open to the pets.
  • Artes:
    • Name: Snatch
    • Effect: Kuzunoha steals a random item off an enemy. Relying on the Arte and her Union Spirit to guide her sticky fingers, the item stolen will vary in importance in accordance with the enemy's alertness level, starting with snacks and loose change and escalating to wallets, gels, jewelry and magic artifacts, and even weapons and armor currently equipped for the truly clueless.
    • Name: Plunder
    • Effect: The upgraded version of Snatch for use against multiple targets and/or large groups. Kuzunoha moves with unusual quickness, stealing items from three enemies on upwards. The effectiveness of Plunder decreases with each successive theft as alertness levels rise amongst the group.
    • Name: Yoohoo!
    • Effect: A taunt, performed immediately after Snatch or Plunder. Kuzunoha waves around a stolen item, enraging the victim of theft. Distraction is guaranteed, and there is a high chance of drawing aggro.
    • Name: Moonlight Devil (sorry to Ragna for the name-jack, but it's her nickname)
    • Effect: A high-jump followed by multiple midair jumps (launch platform optional), ending in a shower of needles, pins, and other on-hand projectiles (typically hair care products). Has a chance to momentarily stun enemies, and unused projectiles lie around the battlefield like caltrops, waiting to be stepped on.
    • Name: Moon Drop
    • Effect: A somersault followed by a graceless drop kick to the back of the enemy's head, slamming their face into the dirt.
    • Name: Pow! Straight to the Moon!
    • Effect: A flurry of light kicks ending with a launching hard kick that knocks the enemy skywards and into chainable aerial combos.
    • Name: Lunar Light Dive
    • Effect: A diving kick that catches the enemy square in the face. Can be chained with Pow! Straight to the Moon!
    • Name: In the name of the Moon, I will punish you!
    • Effect: Kuzunoha assumes a stance and disappears from sight, reappearing a short distance away and delivering a devastating kick to the gut (or lower, if she's feeling cruel). Can be chained with Pow! Straight to the Moon!
    • Name: Where are you looking!?
    • Effect: A leaping thigh-grapple that locks Kuzunoha around an enemy's neck, where she begins to pummel her victim mercilessly before dismounting. Can be chained with Pow! Straight to the Moon!
    • Name: Nuh-uh!
    • Effect: Kuzunoha counters an enemy's attack with a precisely timed kick that grounds or even drops the enemy's weapon. A follow-up spin-kick is optional (but encouraged).
    • Name: Too close!
    • Effect: Kuzunoha dodges an enemy's attack by backflipping out of their range, sometimes employing a series of successive flips in the case of enemies with a large attack range. If timed correctly, Kuzunoha can do a front flip over the enemy instead of away from them, landing behind them. This can be used to launch a surprise attack or chain into Snatch or Plunder.
    • Name: Hey boys, over here!
    • Effect: Kuzunoha seduces the enemy by striking a pose and slowly unzipping her catsuit. Causes distraction for as long as the taunt is active, can work on up to five enemies. The chances of this Arte's success depend on the number of enemies, their current gender ratio and *ahem* their sexual preferences.
  • Personality:
  • Bio: An orphan adopted into a clandestine order of assassins (who will hereon be referred to as "ninjas", because of course that's what everyone is already assuming) to be brought up and trained as a killer. For years, they trained her body to be the perfect weapon, but her mind proved more resilient. Kuzunoha was always cooperative with the training and her new adoptive family, but whenever it came time to test her killer instincts, Kuzunoha was a flake, always choking at the last second. Many recognized early on she simply didn't have the mental capacity to kill, so before certain factions within the order conspired to force her into a more suggestible state where she could be forcibly taught, she was released from the order, formally discharged with the blessing of the clan's master, who she had forged a close father/daughter relationship with. From thereon out, she was encouraged to carve her own path, and she decided to do so as a prolific cat burglar and colorful celebrity thief. She decided to keep her old codename "Kuzunoha" in her career as a thief, as it was the only name that was ever given to her. Recently she attempted to steal from the Velsparian treasury, going so far as to leave a signed calling card stating how much she planned to steal, and how much each individual item was worth. This understandably put people on edge, and security was increased. However, it did absolutely nothing to slow or stop the persistent thief, who made off with all the treasure anyway. However, one thing she failed to account for was the coronation ceremony, which made making it out of the country with her spoils... difficult. After a lengthy chase and many games of cat and mouse, she was caught and apprehended by border control, and locked away in prison in the capital. She is currently awaiting her escape or her sentence, whichever comes first.

I'll finish the personality section later, because finding the right way to describe a character is always the most difficult part of these sheets.

  • Weapons: Sawn-offs plus various explosives pulled out of his bags, usually grenades with various effects.
  • Union Spirit:
    • Name: Regulus
    • Parent: Gnome
    • Appearance: "Yo."
    • Personality: A spirit best characterized by his sarcastic streak and snappy remarks at pretty much anyone whenever it feels like it. It's easy to gain his trust though and once you do he's a pretty cool guy. True to form, he and Vogel are total bros who have as much vitriol between them as genuine friendship.
  • Artes:
    • Stone-Free
      • Element: Earth
      • Incantation: Technology and magic combined for a world of hurt! STONE-FREE!
      • Effect: After a brief moment of channeling Vogel fires a projectile into the air that then explodes into a shrapnel of meteors, showering the wide area with damage, also stunning the peeps in there for a short period of time.
    • Tableturner
      • Effect: Vogel fires a special projectile that deals more damage the heavier armored his target is.
    • Inferno Pinball Bullet
      • Element: Fire
      • Effect: Vogel launches a fireball out of his shotgun that strikes the target and then bounces to another nearest two. This can include allies with some lackluster aiming.
    • Ghastly Shrapnel
      • Element: Dark
      • Effect: Vogel fires a cloud of poisoned buckshot, dealing damage in a cone and applying said poison to targets.
    • Pistolero
      • Effect: Vogel kicks back the approaching enemy and instantly unloads at him, dealing damage to a knocked back target.
    • Hot Potato
      • Effect: Vogel pulls out a random grenade and volleys it right at the enemies, dealing damage and applying some status effect(up to GM's choice, I suppose).
    • Sandman Bullet
      • Element: Earth
      • Effect: Vogel fires a bullet with concentrated magical grains of sand that apart from dealing damage sends a hit enemy into slumber.
    • Wild Wild Velspa
      • Effect: Using his shotgun as a mace, Vogel delivers two smacks to the incoming enemy, followed by a right straight to the face and a shotgun blast soon after.
    • Sentry
      • Effect: Vogel pulls out a miniature rifle on a tripod that attacks enemies he himself attacks. Not powerful, but can be used as a distraction and recharges quickly. Vogel can only have one out at a time.
    • Steam Barrier
      • Effect: Vogel conjures a barrier made of thick air that provides limited defense against projectiles and air-based attacks for one of his allies or himself.
  • Personality: Vogel Kriegsmann is a prodigy at technomagic and he will let you know it. A lot, if he finds you unpleasant/appalling. He doesn't flaunt his skill that much, but if there's a reliable opportunity to display it, he'll be the first to do. Otherwise, he's a lot like his Union Spirit: a sarcastic smartass that once known better turns out to be a good-willed person, if a little eccentric. His social skills are a little lacking, but he's quick to try and make the most out of them. Tries his best to be a gentleman to ladies though he can quickly degrade into snappy remarks if she doesn't prove to be worth it.

    • Personality: Serious, focussed and at every moment of the day predicating focus on swordsmanship and further training into the proper handling of a blade. A flowing acrobat whose strikes flow like the wind and hit like a tornado... or so he says.

  • Kenjutsu: Kazekiriryu - The style of swordmanship on which Saya mainly specializes, taking full advantage of her pact with Kujo to inbue each strike with the strength of cutting wind.

    • Name: Kenjutsu: Wind Cutter
      • Element: Wind
      • Effect: A slash which brings about a wave of cutting air to strike at a distance.

    • Name: Kenjutsu: Sonic Thrust
      • Element: Wind
      • Effect: A powerful thrust with a blade, which is enhanced by cutting air surrounding the sword. On impact, the energy is released in a miniature explosion of the cutting wind.

    • Name: Kenjutsu: Wind Wall
      • Element: Wind
      • Effect: Summons a wall of rushing wind before the user which deflects projectiles and cuts at those running through it.

    • Name: Kenjutsu: Wind Blast
      • Element: Wind
      • Effect: An attack with strong knockback but low damage, a wide swing around the user which releases powerful winds to knockback foes.

  • Iaijutsu: Techniques which rely upon sheathing the blade, gathering power and then unleashing a technique upon the enemy, the full effects of which tend to manifest once the swordsman sheaths back their blade. This swordplay gives perfection of form as an offering to the spirits, who empower the strikes so long as the pledge is not broken.
    • Name: Iaijutsu: Blink Strike
      • Element: Neutral
      • Effect: An attack where the user sheaths their blade and then may unsheathe and swing it instantly, with the end of the attack taking no time at all. The impact with moderate force behind it is delivered the moment the sword leaves the sheath, however the actual cut of the attack won't happen until the user sheaths back the blade. If the user is hit, stumbles or is otherwise made to flinch before they can bring back their sword to the sheath, the cut will never happen.

    • Name: Iaijutsu: Wind Assault
      • Element: Wind
      • Effect: The user sheaths their blade and is cloaked by wind, receiving a bonus to damage, mobility and speed which last until the user is hit or sheathe their blade. The user then proceeds to attack for as long as they are able, inflicting only impact damage, sheathing their blade at the end of a combo. Upon sheathing their blade, opponents receive the cuts from the attacks plus have the air following the users blade erupt into cutting wind at the points struck. This move is better used to deal against a great number of lesser foes to finish them all up quickly and intimidate further mobs by the flashiness of the style.

    • Name: Iaijutsu: Gathering Air
      • Element: Wind
      • Effect: Functioning differently from the other Iaijutsu skills, this one works by sheathing the blade and then doing a prayer to the spirits of wind. Upon doing it, the user is cloaked in cutting wind, bestowing it upon their weapon, increasing their defence lightly and increasing their mobility by having the air carry their weight, allowing them to jump further and move more fluidly. Works until the user is hit or another Wind based technique is used. In the later case, the gathered wind is used up to reinforce the Wind Arte.

  • Ninjutsu: Techniques based upon the use of shadows, seals and other tools of the assassination arts of Nenjuku.
    • Name: Ninjutsu: Kunai Throw
      • Element: Neutral
      • Effect: Throws up to four kunai in a single throw.

    • Name: Ninjutsu: Pyre Seal
      • Element: Fire
      • Effect: Strike with a paper seal imbued with the power of fire. Upon hitting an enemy the seal unleashes a fiery explosion towards the enemy.

    • Name: Ninjutsu: Explosive Kunai
      • Element: Fire
      • Effect: A kunai with an attached Pyre Seal, allowing the explosion to hit at range.

    • Name: Ninjutsu: Guardian Seal
      • Element: Neutral
      • Effect: A seal deployed for defence, which unleashes a protective barrier all around the user.

    • Name: Ninjutsu: Shadow Step
      • Element: Shadow
      • Effect: The user is cloaked in shadows, which allows them to sneak around with a higher chance of avoiding being noticed by others. However, the power can be unleashed to allow the user to teleport from one shadow and appear from another one in the vicinity.

  • Fox Skills: Natural Artes derived from being a Fox.
    • Name: Fox Skill: Rebuff of the Fluffy Tail
      • Element: Justice
      • Effect: Strike at an enemy behind the using fox with the rage of the fluffy tail. Low damage, but high knockback.

  • Personality: A flighty, easy going person with a penchant for adventure, challenges and danger. With a good sense of humor and a sunny disposition which hides a heart burning for vengeance. Still, despite her light manner, she's capable of razor sharp focus and she carries a good head above her shoulders. She likes new experiences, to travel and feel the wind of the road on her back. Saya also has a strong love of battle and to match herself up against strong foes.
  • Bio: Saya was an orphaned Nominal of Nejuku, that like many unwanted children of the populace was given to one of the sword wielding clans of the island nation. Secured upon distant self sustaining villages, these clans raise some of the greatest warriors and assassins of the island which then sell their service to the various warring lords or to the capital itself. From an early age, Saya showed remarkable talent as she was tested to the limit... as a Nominal she was strong, quick and resilient, but her inner discipline and spirit made her one of the most promising students in years. She made a pact for her spirit, Kujo, at an early age and then passed from master to master of the Kawasaki Clan, soaking in their knowledge, relishing the challenge of her studies and growing in power. Pride swelled within the young warrior and she would be put to the test in various missions which gave her some renown. However, one day she was called for an assignment on the Capital, away from home. It was a promising contract which may expose her to some of the most powerful individuals in Nejuku and bring honor to both her and the clan. Still... when she got there, the contract was surprisingly unchallenging and it didn't match the description of the work she was meant to do. Confused she returned home... To find the Kawasaki Clan Village a smoking ruin littered with corpses. The signs of battle indicated another clan had done the underhanded attack... poisoned sake eased the defenders and caused a complete rout. However, there was also unfamiliar weaponry left behind, as well as marks that at least a warrior of Velspa was involved in the attack. Saya didn't find any other survivors... however, after clearing up her village a little and burying her kin, she swore vengeance. Doing a ritual calling upon Sylph and Morrind, she was as a sheathed blade. Like her Iaijutsu techniques, she made a pledge there and there... that she would hunt down the ones responsible for the cowardly attack on the Kawasaki and would not rest until they were all cut to pieces. For this vow, Sylph and Morrind called upon raging winds in a whirlwind to surround Kawasaki village, sealing it from the world. Saya left behind in an altar, the most ancient and sacred blade of her clan and then set off, becoming a drawn blade that won't be sheathed until she accomplishes her pledge... and after months of seeking answers and catching some agents, she has been pointed to a certain Princess-to-become-Queen as the next target for her thirsting blade.

Magic is a pure elemental attack with no weapons involved and it also needs an incantation.

  • Appearance: A well-groomed intelligent looking fox.
  • Personality: As far as Hikaru understands, Ammako is a fox spirit that follows him around and give a pleased yip when he does deeds consider good by societal standards, a disapproving goal when he did otherwise, and comfort him when his mood turns dark. An unpleasantly strict big sister type that expects to be meticulously groomed and respected. One can say that she’s one of the few existence keeping Hikaru on the straight and narrow. A person he want to get rid of, but never had the heart to.

  • Artes:
    • Name: Bajiquan –Hand, Legs, Elbows, Knees, Staff.
      • Effect: Hikaru drops into a stance and attack with his chosen appendages with explosive motions, disrupting the techniques of a single enemy. Due to being highly telegraphed, this technique is easily avoidable – and even counterable - by an attentive opponent.
    • Name: Zen-Go-Shiki
      • Element: Sun
      • Incantation: Let not transient illusions impede us, Gen/Ni/Bi/Ze/Shin-Shiki!
      • Effect: Dispels debuffs against the five sensory organs respectively for the party, returning full functionality with minor improvement as opposing buffs. While clumped together for ease of reading here, this is actually five different spells.
    • Name: Mana-Shiki
      • Element: Sun
      • Incantation: Lies, be stripped away by the weight of Reality, Mana-Shiki!
      • Effect: Cancel enemy status buffs, inflicting on them the opposing debuffs. An attack-boosting buff become an attack-reducing debuff, for example.
    • Name: Alaya-Shiki (Fake)
      • Element: Sun
      • Incantation: I surrender my weakness for strength, I call upon the counter force, Alaya-Shiki!
      • Effect: Inflict a random status buff on Hikaru, but suffers a minor damage for as long as the status buff is in effect.
    • Name: Alaya-Shiki (True)
      • Element: Darkness
      • Incantation: Be free from my leash, rampage, I call upon the counter force, Alaya-Shiki!
      • Effect: Can only be used while Hikaru is under the effects of Alaya-Shiki (True). Summons a horde of wailing dead, ghosts and other unsavory things that couldn’t find rest to damage enemies.
    • Name: Key of Providence
      • Element: Light
      • Incantation: “I am light and relieve you of all your burdens. Relief is in my hands. — Ask for forgiveness here. I, the incarnation, will swear.
— Kyrie Eleison".
  • Effect: An ultimate in exorcism technique that counters Ghost-type existence. While technically a sure-kill against wandering spirit, Hikaru’s ability is not enough to manifest such a wondrous effect. Instead, this inflicts heavy damage upon all non-anchored (ie. Bodiless) spiritual entities and turns them vulnerable to mortal weaponry. Incidentally, existence such as Spirits or other such things are at an altogether another level than the ones Hikaru can effect.

  • Personality: A serious person who thinks deeply about everything. Incredibly faithful, he reveres the Great Spirits as Gods, even more so than others, deriving a sense of spiritual fulfilment in their presence while at the same times detesting those that view them as tools. Humble and cordial, he is the type that favors action over words, exploding into a flurry of activity and returning dormant like a machine that switches on and off. Lately, he has become unease over losing his previously strong sense of empathy, now finding it difficult to relate to the problems of others. Enjoy spicy meals far more than he should.

  • Bio: Having been a “gentleman delinquent” – a guardian of the weak and helpless, according to himself- in his formative years, it could be said that Hikaru hurts other people not because he is insensitive to their plight, but because he cherishes them too much. The type of overprotective owner that would let his own wards wither away in a gilded cage. Following an incident where he grievously injured a mugger, he was unceremoniously deposited in a monetary well-secluded in the nameless mountain, said to be where the presence of an aspect of Rem is felt most strongly. Having “completed his studies”, Hikaru now wander the land in search of an answer. It is only unfortunate he doesn’t even knows the question.
