His glasses looking like clocks helps with the overall imagery, but it's not great. I'm at a loss for a replacement suggestion, though.
Buh. Bad image, that one.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI agree that the image is terrible, though I am not sure how to picture this without using lots of dialogue.
I think it is fractionally better than just a face and a caption and I vote keep until better suggested. But, you know, let us keep the thread open a while and see if we get any suggestions.
Huh, I actually didn't notice the clock hand imagery on his glasses; I just assumed those were his smugly closed eyes. Either way, it's still a really weak image, though.
Quite honestly, I'd rather keep the original pic. This is really tough to illustrate, I found some pics for discussion, but I'm not crazy about them.
Mathsight◊, Amadeus Cho. Trajectory◊, Amadeus Cho. Hard light prison◊, Madame Viper. (I think)
Did a quality swap, so that should be a little clearer now.
The first one looks like a random string of symbols. Second one might work but busy. Third one would fit Hard Light much better than this trope.
I started a new thread for that one because of that pic.

7.1 and 7.2 look more like a Tracking Light to me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSecond panel of this◊ image of Mad Thinker from the Fantastic Four comics? Text-heavy, though.
Found this◊ if it's suitable.
I like that, it definitely fits the trope. Legibility at wiki size would be the concern.
Clock is set. Crowner?
I'm leaning toward the Mad Thinker image myself; it may be text-heavy, but it more clearly conveys the exact meaning of the trope than any of the others. If it's not suitable, though, 13.1 at least has better clock imagery than the current, I think.

Hooked, thanks.
Ew, the Mad Thinker pic is terrible. Way too many words.
Votes bump pre-weekend. Only one in green with 5-3 yea/nay is Clock King from Batman◊.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThis one will be at a week tomorrow, and there's only one in the green, so I think it's safe to call. The new pic's up, potholed, and tagged. I've left the old caption in place; keep, remove, or come up with something new?
Current is OK enough.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI don't know if the caption fits the new guy as well as the old guy, but it seems fitting enough for the trope.
Gonna go ahead and lock this one since we've got some consensus to leave the old caption for now.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
All I see here is a guy swinging around what looks like it might be a yo-yo. There's absolutely nothing suggesting that he's predicting events with Ludicrous Precision.
I'm not really sure how to illustrate this trope effectively without relying heavily on text, but the current image certainly isn't helping.
