If anything, I'll dig out my signup from a previous attempt to do a cyberpunk RP mixed with Rainbow Six.

We probably need to world build a bit more.

Yeah that's fine.

We probably need to world build a bit more.
Don't worry too much about that. I've got some solid plans in place for the world so far.

Hopefully the geopolitics in the 3000s aren't complicated like some CP works that I'm aware of.

I don't know if this will do since I don't know where the city is, so I was thinking of the public security like Rainbow from the Tom Clancy series.

  • Name: Police Senior Inspector Mark Chen
  • Age: 28
  • Appearance: Here, except without the freckles.
  • Background: Mark Chen is the youngest son with two older sisters and two older brothers. His father is a known businessman who controls a conglomerate ranging from shipping to retail, fast food and vehicle dealerships. However, Mark disappeared after he graduated from college in the United States, baffling most of his family/friends to where he went to since it was news that he was to work with his family's business empire. He covertly traveling to France to serve in the French Foreign Legion before he left with the rank of Sergeant from his time with the 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment. He later resurfaced as a commissioned officer with the rank of Police Inspector. Because he was the first Chinese-Filipino to be a PNP officer with the rank of P Insp., he became the darling of the PNP in the organization's attempts to recruit Filipinos of various ethnic origins to join the police service. He joined up with the Special Action Force, the PNP's elite anti-crime/terrorist unit before he was promoted to P S/Insp., as well as leading a section of the SAF's 1st Battalion in operations in country and overseas under UN Police missions. A SAF-led raid to arrest members of True Anonymous for criminal/terrorist activities in Philippine soil turned to a disaster when SAF teams were ambushed by small arms fire and hackers messing with their electronic equipment, including comms. Leading to accusations from the media and certain high-ranking PNP officials that he was one of the few to be blamed for the failed raid, Mark got angry and fired back at his accusers before he tendered his resignation from the unit. Seeking a change in area, he was ordered by his superiors to move to Echo City and work with the multinational public security law enforcement units in the city. Rumors persist that his last assignment was the PNP's way of getting rid of him and that someone from the SAF had sold out his team.
  • Skills: Thanks to his education at the Philippine National Police Academy, P S/Insp. Mark Chen is familiar with Philippine criminal law, as well as the inner working of the PNP. Due to his posting in the Special Action Force and in the French Foreign Legion, he is also familiar with small arms, guerrilla warfare, CQC/martial arts and commando tactics. He also has experience leading SAF teams during his time with the unit, leading to his leadership skills. Mark also drives vehicles such as sedans, vans and motorcycles. He is trilingual, able to speak Tagalog, English and Hokkien with conversational French and limited Mandarin.
  • Personality: Despite being calm at all times, Mark is haunted by the disastrous raid from time to time. He swears to make True Anonymous pay for the failed raid. Due to this, he tends to shut himself from his friends and family, although he tries to make an effort to open himself up. Mark is also making an effort to not mention anything about his FFL involvement to a minimum. Many people suggested that he joined the FFL and public security out of resentment from his parents to pressure him to work in the family business. Mark himself does not attempt to deny these thoughts when confronted by the press.
  • Enhancements: None. The officer prefers to keep his humanity out of personal belief that cybernetic enhancements doesn't make someone better at something.

For spoilerish reasons I can't really say where Echo City is right now. It's gonna be a big part of the plot though.

I hope this is ok but I'll probably proof read/edit it in a bit.

Name: June Byrne

Age: 26

Appearance/Personality: June has strawberry blonde hair in a stylish pixie cut with light skin and an athletic build, slightly flat-chested. Her artificial eyes are solid blue orbs with small metallic nodes at the tear ducts and no eyelashes. She has a pretty face, the few scars obtained from cybernetic operations hidden beneath her hair. Wears loose jeans and slightly tarnished but sturdy boots with a green, short-sleeved blouse under a black vest. When at work she usually also has a labcoat and tie, trying to maintain a professional attitude towards others. Outside of this - or if superiors aren’t looking- she tends to be fond of humor and sarcasm, often using it to deflect more serious situations or feelings.

Background: June Byrne was born deaf and blind, her father – as a cybernetic engineer – was quick to correct this disability despite her young age. As she grew and needed better fitting replacements he would often install experimental components, giving her a perception far exceeding that of normal humans. Perhaps as a result June gained a strong desire to see the true nature of the world, endeavouring to become an analytical chemist. Her elder brother, Kees, protected June from the ridicule of others during her younger years but, following an accident, was left to fend for herself. She began martial arts training shortly after and continued it during university and beyond.

Upon graduation she began work with many toxicologists, gaining experience in the field but finding the current status quo of Echo City… stifling.

Skills: Super human perception due to cybernetic enhancements; Talented analytical chemist with experience in toxicology; Capable of receiving radio transmissions; Highly competent martial artist

Cybernetic Enhancements: Total eye and inner ear replacement with artificial optical and audial brain implants. Able to see ultraviolet and infrared light as well as hear over a greater range of frequencies than a normal human, even picking up radio waves – brain implants allow her to interpret these signals.

Yeah that sounds fine.

  • Name: Xander Vandeine

  • Age: 16

  • Appearance: Platinum blond hair, almost a silvery hue, and very light blue eyes hint that Xander is an albino - another possible reason for his father enforcing his nature as a recluse. He is about five feet nine inches tall, and has a thin, but slightly toned look to him. He also fits the Pretty Boy trope very well. However, given his cybernetic implants, he can summon up his Instant Armor, in which case he resembles a silver and blue armored person with four floating spheres around it. His face is obstructed by what looks like a knight-like split helm, a tuft of hair coming from the back of the armor's head.

  • Personality: Xander is best described as a teenage genius - he's mostly focused into cybernetic enhancements and additions, though there are a few other areas he's proficient in. He is a rather withdrawn, contemplative individual, though definitely not by choice - his father tries to keep him indoors to ensure his "development". Due to this, he's grown to be somewhat anti-social, though very curious about other people. While he represses it most of the time, it is obvious he very much dislikes his father's authoritarian parenting and neglect except when he needs some new "toy". Xander himself really wants a way to rebel, and he might just have found it. He's also something of a bookworm aside, being very much into old philosophical books. It seems that, despite his recluse status, he does have one friend - Misha, who might be his girlfriend. He has, ever since finding his "disguise" tried to use language while disguised that hints at A Darker Me.

  • Background: Xander comes from a troubled family - the Vandeine Family was once a family best known for its criminals and even today, his father is not regarded well by other people even after they became wealthy on the back of a murky weapons development platform. Its generally assumed they're involved in shady things and covering up criminal acts. His father has not been forthcoming about denying these things, and in fact seems to want to be considered dangerous. All the same, Xander suffers for it - next to nobody likes talking to him except Misha. He has, even at school, been kept in very high level Honors / AP classes, and socialization has been discouraged even further. However, with all his research, he managed to create something - his Mech-Control Suit, which he uses as basically a glorified disguise with which to finally act outside his father's authority. Whether he uses it ultimately for good or ill has yet to be seen.

  • Skills: He is a tech genius, has been studying since his father found out he was a prodigy, and he's been studying a lot of other material, including biology and philosophy.

  • Cybernetic Enhancements:
    • Mech-Control Suit: His Instant Armor, which, being composed of nanomachines, lets him take control of weapon technology and alter it. It also functions to increase his durability and strength, and provide him with weapons - though these are mostly limited to non-projectile weapons at the present time. However, it is weak to sudden surges of electricity, which can do nasty things to him.
    • Otherwise, he's had a number of augmentations made to correct his sight and sensitivity to sunlight and UV Rays. However, he's tinkered with these, letting him instead use the sunlight as what amounts to free energy - which he can either use as bottled resolve to keep himself up later or simply fire it as a basic blast.

So, does anyone have plot ideas?

Thoughts on the characters currently in the RP?

I think the set of characters we've got so far have been pretty well made and diverse. It will definitely be interesting once the RP starts up and we see them all get up to stuff and occasionally interact.

As for plot, my plan for Butch at least is him taking on a case regarding deaths of people who died while logged into the Network. And inevitably things begin to take form from there.

My plan for Xander is that he is involved with his father's schemes due to his all-but-confinement in his home. He then starts really experimenting with the Mech-Control Suit and explores the city around him, though causing some amount of trouble in doing so.

As a consequence, people start to investigate his masked personality, which causes his father's plans to be accelerated...

Well, since the characters so far seem to have a connection to crime (Two investigators, a scientist who analyses poisons/poisonings and the son of a possible criminal) we could use something along those lines to brings us to a similar location if need be.

EDIT: Sorry, totally missed your last few posts there. tongue Might have a few of June's co-worker disappear/die unexpectedly and her investigate.

Name: Vivian "Vy" Nails

Age: 49 (but don't inquire about it)

Appearance: Despite her age, Vy looks to be in her early 20s, thanks to advances in the cosmetic industry. She has a youthful, rounded face framed with two long, curly side locks, her hair a vibrant red. Her eyes, in contrast, are a striking, almost glowing green due to retinal enhancements. She is fond of long, lavish robes and dresses that give her an extravagant air - maybe too much so, as it comes off that she's trying to be something she's not.

Personality: Vivian is a woman obsessed and driven by her own mortality. Unable to see beyond herself, she works towards trying to extend her life, trying to achieve some means to escape death, something to escape her humanity, whether through biological or mechanical means. She is egotistical in her own genius and loathes people, but she also knows how to put on a face, which she does, often, and despite her scientific mind there is a touch of sadism buried within her, slowly inching its way out.

Background: Growing up, Vivian was gifted and she knew it, blazing through the education system far beyond her peers and easily landing a job in Asclepius Pharmaceuticals as an anesthesiologist. She prided herself on her acuteness, her precision, her capacity to remember down to the smallest detail. Unfortunately for her, it wasn't meant to last.

Little by little, Vivian had slips of memory. It wasn't too major - missing key cards here, forgetting to carry a number in calculations there. But for her, it was tantamount to the world ending. Waking up one morning and forgetting where she had placed a folder for her company, Vy took a long, hard look at herself in the mirror and realized she was getting older. And she was terrified.

Suddenly, Vy started investing her money and free time into cosmetics, body enhancement, genetics, anything to move her further and further away from her limitations as a human being. When her job didn't seem to be paying enough for her private research, she started modifying the anesthetic medicine her company used in order to sell on the black market as high grade drugs. Of course, Asclepius Pharmaceuticals found out and fired her almost immediately, though they kept things under wraps on the public side to prevent their company name from being tarnished.

No longer within the legal drug industry, Vy fell completely into the far more profitable black market, acting as a supplier, dealer, and addict for the newest drug on the streets, Neptunenote . With her newly founded industry, Vy has sunk countless cash into cosmetics, cybernetics, and other technologies to try and achieve that unthinkable dream of immortality.

Skills: She is well-practiced in acting, able to fake emotions and personalities to suit her present day needs. Vy is also skilled in planning, especially when supported by her cloud processing augmentation. Her biggest skill is drug and chemical knowledge, which she utilizes in her business.

Cybernetic Enhancements: Vivian has employed numerous cybernetic enhancements in order to counteract what she perceives to be human weakness. Her arms and legs have been replaced with cybernetic prosthetics, more oriented towards speed and precision rather than strength, to better control her movements. Her eyes have been augmented to have enhanced vision and range, allowing her to visually calculate measurements and distance as well as providing her with a direct visual feed to the Zero Network. Most importantly, her brain implants allow her to interface with a series of networked computers which enhance her ability to think, plan, and remember - she augments her thinking with the power of cloud processing. Hidden in her arm and leg prosthetics are vials of Neptune which she can inject into herself to dull her sense of pain - or if she just wants to take a trip.

Given that, disguised using his Mech-Control Suit, its already planned for Xander to get himself into trouble, maybe there could be investigation into possible illegal activities by his father Isaiah, and now there's investigation into this strange masked guy running around.

Hmm, since Vy makes illegal drugs maybe June could be trying to identify the cause of a number of overdoses (from Neptune) for the police.
