And would you look at that? He's fed up with the NSL fics, too. Can't imagine why.

"Over-glorified torture porn" is a nice way to put it. Do we really need to let one bad episode define how we see a character or characters?

I'm not against people writing responses, fix-fics, deconstructions, etc. to episodes they didn't like. They can still be bit of a gray area for sure, but some of them can be really good if thought out well enough.

However some have gone completely overboard and seem only interested in bashing the Loud Family rather then tell a story.

[up] It seems to me that a lot of people are...oversensitive (can't think of a better word) to what is shown on a cartoon. This overrreaction (can't think of a better word again) seems to occur more frequently with western animation than any other medium. Bad episodes or tv shows are perfectly harmless in the long run and can just be ignored. I mean, I watched a fair amount of Johnny Test as a kid and I turned out fine. As a certain starfish once said "Take it easy, it's just a drawing."

[up] Have to agree with you on that. Sure I really hate the portrayal of Luan in April Fools Rule, but that doesn't mean I should hate her entirely because of that one badly written episode and make a big deal about it.

Regarding your Patrick example, it would be like being a bearded idiot (not that one) who treats a throwaway line as proof that Patrick is a sociopath even though he said a similar line back in a good episode of Classic Spongebob which was a hilarious throwaway line. Seriously, why he didn't take that line from a good episode of Spongebob as proof of Patrick's sociopathy rather than the one from the bad episode? Also, why keeping tabs on continuity on a show that isn't continuity heavy? Also, why treat a throwaway gag from a comedy show as some sort of dramatic reveal?

Okay point is, Mysterious Mr. Enter while can do good research on what he is reviewing tends to take things WAY too seriously (especially in the past) and getting angry at a fictional character due to how badly they are written is pretty immature.

The loudest mission is going to be a huge haul of new ships and fics, plus fan art no doubt! Is it weird that the mom is quickly becoming my favorite reason for this special?

I'm hyped for the episode myself. I wonder if Bobby and Ronnie Ann could actually be written off. I mean, it's not likely, but it's possible.

I really hope not, because I could have to rework a fanfic I have planned.

Can we say that Lisa and Lincoln are "Weak but Skilled"?

Lisa is 4-year-old and depends on science, she uses inventions in almost every episode she appears like "Snow Bored" or "Making the Grade".

Lincoln admited himself he's not the fastest nor the strongest sibling in the family, he depends on his plans and in episodes "Project Loud House" and "Roughin It" he proved to be Jack of all Stats. In the latter he used all things he learned from Lori, Leni, Luna, Lynn, Lucy, Lola and Lisa to survive in the wilderness.

Can we say Lincoln is a "Broken Ace"? He's an A-graded student and he has talent to write and drew a comic based on his life. However he has problems with inferiority complex as his sisters often outsmart him and outmatch him, he often laments that he's rarely the best of the siblings, he often falls a victim of their antics and he's often treated as an outcast by his sisters and even schoolmates. His good grades don't help him.

I heard through the grapevine that there'll be an episode involving Down Syndrome. Can I get a valid claim on this?

There's an upcoming thirty-minute special about Ronnie Anne's extended family and one of her cousins has Down Syndrome.

CJ, right?

Edit: Nephews watching LH right now, and I think I caught something. Lynn Sr mentions Bobby's father having an operation for a hernia, and asks how it went. Lori says "Ok, I guess." But I think she sounds a little bit nervous.

Since the father has yet to be mentioned since, and all evidence seems to it beings a Disappeared Dad situation, I think there are two possibilities.

A: Early-Installment Weirdness

Or

B: Bobby's dad died during the operation, which is why Lori sounds nervous, (she knows for a fact it did by go well) and why the dad hasn't been mentioned since, or made any appearances.

Entirely possible that I'm reading too much into this, though.

I think Pets Peeved might be my favorite episode to date.

All right, here's what I think of this weeks episodes.

Pets Peeved: Charles, Cliff, Walt, and Geo get some time in the sun. The pictures on Charles' slideshows were funny, and it's nice to see predator and prey getting along in any situation. (Except those lame cartoons where Tom and Jerry are friends.) The first half felt overdone, but the second half was better, especially Waterson saving the Loud pets. (Also, that's his butt.)

Out of the Picture: I can relate. I was never in any group photos, so I'm afraid of being forgotten too. Good thing we have a way! The fact that The younger Louds go to the same school as Lincoln makes some of the season 1 episodes a bit...off. Anyway, I like Lola's subplot and the ending was cute. (Also, I kind of expected the coach to be that Marty guy)

Room with a Feud: Come to the Mayo side! Anyway, this episode was a little different from what we predicted, other than one sibling being compatible with no other. So it's pretty much a better version of Brawl in the Family. As much as I would like for the roomates to stay in Lisa's way, it makes a better moral for the mismatched Loud sisters. (Still wish we saw Clyde and Lori's compatibility)

Spell it Out: So far Luna, Lori, and The Twins had their own episode, and now it's Lucy's turn. The beginning seems like Lucy and Lincoln switched places, as most of that stuff usually happens to him. But seeing Lucy use magic was quite fun. The ending was a bit overdone, but that final shot makes it better. (But really, who loses their voice screaming at shuffle boarding? )

Good episodes all around.

Plot of "Spell It Out" is very similar to fanfiction "Voiceless Noise". You all can read this fanfiction and compare it with the episode. http://theloudhouse.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Chrisrockz17/Voiceless_Noise

[up] Eh, 6/10. Funny, but the satire's too ham-fisted for my taste.

That said, I do agree that the whole "Lincoln runs away because he feels mistreated" plot is really overdone, and it's rare to see an author put an original spin on it.

Now I kind of want to see a fic where Lincoln runs away, but then comes to realize that his home life isn't all that bad after The Depressed Persian Tow Truck Man gives him a ride home.

I love to learn, I love to yearn, and most of all... I love to make money.

So in the fanfiction Lincoln acts like a complete faget all because Lori breath and runs away blaming all of his sisters (save for Luna because she's the hot one) and hits Lola who is uncharacteristically too nice while proclaiming that he is the victim.

. . . 10/10: Best fic ever!!!

Though like the others I agree that the fic is too hamfisted in what it is criticizing, to the point where the best jokes are ruined by all the meta lampshades to certain plot points. Thr meta humor/author filibusters pretty much ruin the parody aspect to the story as I don't want to be told what's funny and why.

I've said this before: People have the right to express their displeasure about episodes they don't like, but obviously some will go overboard and get too focused on the punishing rather then telling a story that tries to untangle the problems they had with the episodes.

To use another 'bad' episode as an example: The Green House. Here is how I'd go about and try to be constructive while evoking some Reality Ensues and What the Hell, Hero? Tropes to address the issues that episode had.

It would be a 'what if' where despite Lincoln's best efforts his class still loses the 'save the bear' competition.

Lincoln is mentally and physically exhausted, he has barely slept or eaten in the last few days, his classmates don't care (save for Clyde, but he goes with the group in ostracizing Lincoln, he feels terrible about it though-sadly peer pressure is a bitch).

Because kids can be cruel some harass him during lunch and because of his currently poor state throws up, passes out, and has to be taken to a hospital. Nothing serious he just needs a few days of rest. (Oh and before he passes out he hears Ronnie Ann's voice-her very worried and angry voice. No prizes for guessing what she does to Lincoln's tormentors).

Nonetheless there is fall out. However to avoid the usual pitfalls of these stories the execution must be done carefully.

Lucy overhears "things" during lunch and after getting the full story from Clyde informs the other sisters. None of them are amused. If present during Lucy's 'talk' with Clyde the twins and Lisa join her in chewing him out for abandoning Lincoln.

Obviously none of his sisters are pleased his classmates were peer pressuring him (there are no confrontations, just Lynn making promises of violence if she ever sees them again...). Granted this doesn't excuse the video game thing (unless you argue that was peer pressure too). That said Clyde and those other two were kind of dicks for coming over to Lincoln's house so their homes could stay in the green when they knew he was in the red and were okay with making him an outcast just as long as they weren't. This is something Clyde does get called out on by Lucy, the twins, and Lisa.

Why Lincoln just didn't send them home I don't even know... of course he was in a 'please his classmates' mode so he obviously wasn't thinking things through.

The Loud Parents learn of their daughters' frivolous energy use ("we've been meaning to talk with you kids (note: I said not 'girls' so they're including all their kids here so Lincoln isn't getting favoritism or anything) about the bills...") and have an honest discussion about it. No chewing anyone out. Just 'this is a problem, don't do it anymore'.

Lincoln and Ronnie Anne seem to be foil to each others.

Both have mothers doctors, both enjoy video games and SMOOCH but they have lear differences.

Lincoln: Fair skin, white hair, wears orange polo and long trousers, he's also pacifistic and weak.

Ronnie: Dark skin, black hair, wears a purple long-sleeved hoodie and shorts, she's also agressive and strong.
