Not only that, but some deserved a far better death than most...

[DATA LOST]Poor, poor Lancer...
Fate/Zero is worth watching for Rider alone, IMO. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. That tends to be the case when It Makes Sense in Context can be applied.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyThat scene is prety great out of context.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. It's pretty stupid in context too. Just a different kind of stupid.
Saber, the greatest hero of the greatest class, bested by a farmer and a history teacher.
It' obviously a deep metaphor of how military leaders are ultimately nothing compared to the actual great driving forces of mankind, food suppliers and educators.
This message has been brought to you by a former teacher. Who quit because teachers are paid in lint and shit and never get any respect from anyone anymore.
As a current teacher, I can confirm.
I justify it with "Saber, the strongest knight, was temporarily bested, while taken by surprise, by the strongest mage's buff spells attached to a guy". After all, we see later what happens when the teacher fights a Servant without being buffed. They should have emphasized the "Kuzuki is winning only because of Caster" more, though. As it is, the scene does feel very bullshitty.

I only just noticed that they pulled out a lot of the (remixed) VN soundtracks for the last couple of episodes...This Illusion, Into the Night, and of course Sword of Promised Victory and Emiya. Some of it was so quiet that I didn't catch it the first time round.
I wonder if they only played fragments of Emiya in the earlier episodes just to save it up for the last battle. Hearing it in bits and pieces was frustrating though.
Technically, Archer would count since it's a remix of Emiya, but the song itself first appears when Shirou and Archer are about to fight.
Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, we should find the absolutes that tie us.Yeah, but it was fragmented in those instances. Or at least, I felt there never was a stretch where it really got momentum going before being interrupted by a flashback or something.
So I finally got around to finishing Gundam: Reconguista in G, so ended up starting Fate/Stay Night. Only two episodes in, so far, but Shirou is a boss.
The first thirty seconds is two people (Archer and Saber, I think?) having a sword duel so awesome that they blow up a city. And then Shirou does nothing with his magic except fix a space heater and a TV. And then runs like hell as soon as he sees Archer and Lancer fighting. Because he is not a moron.
Seriously, I like this kid.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien. You might wanna retract statement soon. Trust me, he's still an idiot.
[DATA LOST]Idiot is not necessarily the word I'd use for him, but I don't remember if the UBW anime does a good job of getting that across.
I think Jovian's watching the 2006 anime. From what I've heard, that means he'll be screaming in frustration soon enough. xP
And yes, that was Archer and Saber. In a manner of sorts.
but HOW?Yeah, I'm watching the original first. Apparently Shirou goes stupid? Alas. Well, I get the impression that Saber will beat it out of him, if that's the case.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien. You're right in that he changes over the course of the story... the full story. Adaptations only cover a third of it.
The Fate route introduces the setting - the plot is relatively simple and so is Shirou (the first anime is based on this route, with some original material loosely inspired by the others). Unlimited Blade Works delves much more deeply into Shirou's thought processes, showing why he acts the way he does and presenting it in a more positive light (but the UBW anime removes most of the internal monologues where this happens). And then Heaven's Feel basically breaks Shirou and rebuilds him.

Personally, I'd say the route that breaks Shiro and rebuilds him is Unlimited Blade Works. The third route takes him in an entirely different direction.
Most impressive thing Saber has done in the series so far: in the beginning of episode 7, she goes from barefoot to wearing fully-laced boots in about two seconds. Without using her hands.
Sadly, Sakura's head was blocking us from seeing how she accomplished this. Truly a Missed Moment of Awesome.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Yeah, Sakura always ruins everything. <_<
If I knew how I know everything I know, I'd only be able to know half as much because my brain would be clogged up with where I know it fromDon't forget to count the senpais.
And to take a sip for each one.
When you've recovered from the inevitable alcohol poisoning. We'd also be glad to hear the rest of your thoughts of the series.
And also most of them are pretty fucked up.
but HOW?
