Just a Face and a Caption: Rival Turned Evil

I really don't see the "rival" aspect here. Nothing in this picture indicates this. It just looks like a hero and villain duking it out.

Doctor Doom did not react well to getting shown up by that Skunk Striped punk.

We've had three threads about this one already, although one was a duplicate so I'm letting this one slide. I agree that it's a pretty weak illustration, but I'm at a loss for a succinct suggestion.

Or something like that. I may pick a different top image.

Yeah, an improvement to actually illustrating the trope.

That last one is better.

3 is weak but a definite improvement on the current...is there a quote that would work as a caption to enhance it?

Well, it illustrated the "rival" aspect clearer, though it looks rather ugly, since it's low quality, zoomed out, and that funny starting pose. If there is a more cinematic shot of them racing, that would be better.

^^I was thinking along the same lines. Earlier in the game, I took screen shots of the two of them racing to collect provisions. It's from a cutscene so it's a bit higher quality. It's when we first meet Riku and he's complaining about being the only one working on the raft.

If anyone finds a high quality video, we can lift screens from that.

Much better. There's room for improvement, that's but far superior to everything else.

Bottom half of 10 works. Not sold on top half due to quality issues.

I like the composition better in the previous (more clearly running, and not nosing the edge of the image), but naturally the quality is much better in the last one.

If anyone can catch a better screenshot from the video I posted, that'd be great. I'm downloading a big file; my computer lags so that I get only awkward screens. XD EDIT: Okay, I think I have a better one.

That looks good.

The only suggestion I have, compositionally, is to flip one of the two frames so that Sora and Riku are on the same side in both. Otherwise,

I kinda like it with reversed sides. A bit symbolic of their changed relationship. Although their change in position kind of implies it's the good guy (in the lower) who switched sides, rather than the other way around. If you really want to read into it, that is.

I like the composition as is because one's eye rests on Sora in the top frame at first, and then goes to Riku on the left, where the eye travels down the diagonal of the blade and onto the bottom scene.

I switched the sides while I was putting the pics together, and the sword ended up in an unfortunate place, to say the least.
