@Jack
Abbott was ousted because he led a chaotic government based on such absurd and unnecessary dishonesty that he had zero credibility. Only the hardline conservative base of his party believed a word he had to say. He was so unpopular that if he had continued to lead the party, he would have lost in a landslide. Getting rid of him was necessary for the survival of his party. Here's an article about it from the Murdoch press that was basically cheer-leading his government.
Chinese involvement would consist of congratulating Turnbull on a fait accompli.

There is a difference between censoring criticism of another country in a general situation and protecting the safety of a head of state in a diplomatic visit...
The situations over here haven't been about safety, there's been on threat at all, it's been purely about removing awkward political discontent. [1]
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranActually, why is the UK being soft on China? Didn't it object to treatment of Hong Kong and all? A while ago there was that news about how China says its treaty obligation (to uphold Hong Kong's system) no longer has a force of law since the time the city was put under PRC's sovereignty. Whereas the UK says that the whole point of that treaty was to safeguard Hong Kong after the transfer.
Short answer: Money, Dear Boy.
We backed down quick over Hong Kong. And basically it's because our government wants to be like China. They want our workers to work like Chinease ones, they want our school to teach like Chinease ones and they want to outsource our infestructure to Chinease companies on the cheep.
Our government wants a cheep mass manual labour market that's easy for businesses to exploit, China is a role model for that.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen. What about tertiary education? After all it's British universities that have a reputation for being the best in the world, not Chinese...
They want the goverment as out of it as possible and it to become more about profit for the universities, they got their free degrees and want to pull the ladder up behind them.
Pretty much.

“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranAn excellent documentary on the views of Japanese left and right wing factions on taking the fight to the Islamic State:
I'm going to be honest, the Japanese left is impossible to take seriously. On the other hand, the right has far too much power and the uyoku are a pain. Love the "Afghan Samurai" though.
On another interesting note, the next G7 meeting will involve a visit to the Ise shrine. The shrine of the Sun Goddess and the mythical progenitor of the Imperial Household. Visiting a shrine is equal to paying homage to the deity within, so Abe is definitely sending a message.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleWhile I heard stories of individuals fighting with the Mujahideen in Afghanistan, the last nationalities that I expect to hear are Japanese.
I'd have a hard time keeping a straight face when one of the right-wing leaders said how inhuman the Japanese citizens killings where when 70 years ago Japan was having a streak of brutal and merciless killings.
Inter arma enim silent legesI don't see what's wrong with that?
If the person is supporting the same kinds of action now then it's hypocritical but that's not the case.
Because Japan's far-right are notorious for glossing over and excusing war crimes committed by the IJA/IJN during the Second World War? The focus on beheading a particularly inhumane form of punishment is rather ironic◊, given this fact.
As I posted in the Asia thread, the Japanese left is disorganized and has no allies: not in the media, not abroad and not at home. They are not unified.
The right has it's sh_t together even though most of their tough guys were sucking formula and soiling their diapers during World War Two.
If the anti-war left wants to win they need to have a plan and a message other than "war is bad". Being Captain Obvious is not enough, they need a plan.
All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48

Inter arma enim silent legesYou wouldn't believe it when you look at the monkey circus that is the current-day American pre-pre-election, but most countries consider politics quite the hefty subject.
Though most politicians everywhere leave the actual fistfights to their voters.

It happens from time to time, even mynote congress had its fist fights and people being kicked out during voting processes inside the congress.

Inter arma enim silent legesI find it rather unlikely that a plane might be able to keep flying for that long with a live fire. Needs a bit of clarification, there.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWell, as long as nothing explodes. Even in the event of complete engine failure, a plane should still be able to glide for a considerable amount of time. Of course, You'll be losing velocity and altitude every passing second, so you'd need to be really lucky to have a suitable landing spot within the short range left.
At least, I think that's what I saw on discovery once. It's been a while.

@Jack Do you not get that Obama is the one who has been permanently stationing said missiles there this entire time? They're already there effectively permanently, it's just being considered to make it official.
As for your weird idea that Obama has a problem being provocative, you do remember that this is the man who ordered an aircraft carrier to wonder around waters that China is trying to claim? From China's perspective he literally invaded their territorial waters.
Please stop with this weird idea that Obama is bowing to China, you want to see what that looks like read some British news, you guys ain't doing shit.
Oh and your Australia idea just shows a frightening level of delusion and ego, not everything in the world is about your pet "China is about to take over the world" theory.
That post was stupid, even for you Jack.
