There's only so many I liked on either side... Nicktoons had more to enjoy in the early 90's - early 00's for me, but CN has been consistent to me upon discovery, still making stuff I like today (despite not being as much...).
Either way, I'm not saying who's better, I don't care - I'm sure nostalgia has blinded me in the past so bad that I can't really re - watch too many of these shows...
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.Hmm, that's a tough one. I like my favorite Classic Nicktoons more than my favorite Cartoon Cartoons, it was already late 1999 (I was 8 going on 9 then) when my cable got Cartoon Network so I have more nostalgia for Nicktoons, and I kept better track of all of what was airing on Nickelodeon throughout the mid-to-late '90s and early-to-mid '00s than on CN. But on the other hand, Cartoon Cartoons were more consistently good; I can't think of a single one I would have chosen not to watch through 2002 (though I don't think I ever actually saw I Am Weasel just because it was barely on by the time I got the channel).

As long as this doesn't become a rage thread, I think I spent a more colorful part of my childhood on nicktoons. They just had more bright, madcap humor than the Cartoon cartoons i've watched, and compared to Cat Dog, Dexter's lab was more quiet most of the time.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI'm more of a cartoons cartoons person myself. I was born in 90s so that might have something to do with it.

Guys...
Can't we agree that both were great in their own different ways?
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I think that most people on this forum will say that both were great.
I'm merely asking for preference.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I think between the two, I have more nostalgia for Nicktoons because some of the shows really knew how to pull on the heart strings.
I actually enjoyed classic Nicktoons better only because I spent most of my time watching Nickelodeon a lot when I was little than I did with Cartoon Network, although I did have a few favorites on Cartoon Network like Dexters Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls and Johnny Bravo.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!@ Aldo 930: THAT'S exactly what I WAS trying to say, while adding to the fact that CN has more stuff for me at the moment, so as to not limit myself to past efforts.
Either way, both channels back then had something for everyone, and I can see why people miss those days - enough to even live in the past (which ain't healthy, AT ALL!), unfortunately...
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.I remember an old ad for nicktoons. I can't get that tune out of my head now!
Nick TOO Ns- ni ni ni ni ni Nick TOO Ns!

It is hard for me to choose if I were just to grade it based on Nostalgia it would probably be Nicktoons since I was 5 when the first Nicktoons started in 1991.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI agree with this! As much as I love those shows, I'm not going to be one of those people who won't give the newer shows a chance.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Classic Nicktoons > Classic Cartoon Cartoons, though modern CN >>> modern Nick.
As much as I have a deeper nostalgia for 90's Nickelodeon in general, I have to say the number of Cartoon Cartoons I like outnumber the Nicktoons I like. But then, my top three favorite shows on the list provided in the first post are all Nicktoons (Ren and Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, Invader Zim, with number 4 being Powerpuff Girls).
Decisions decisions.
My tropes launched: https://surenity2.blogspot.com/2021/02/my-tropes-on-tv-tropes.htmlHonestly, I've seen more of the Cartoon Cartoons, and I feel like most of the Cartoon Cartoons had better writing anyway. (Hey, they did have pre-stardom Seth Mac Farlane and Butch Hartman. Those guys knew how to write a good cartoon pretty damn well in their prime.)
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Touche.
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.I'm pretty solidly on the side of Cartoon Cartoons. I like most of the Nicktoons well enough, especially Rugrats and Catdog, but Cartoon Network was what I always turned on growing up.
But that's a story for another time.Same.
I watched whatever was on of both networks, but I remember the Cartoon Cartoons more.
Plus, when I'm online and watching shows, I'm more likely to watch Dexter's, PPG, or Eds than Spongebob.
