Brilliant! Love the fact that there's also a "thanks" option.
Tried out a few on myself. They seem to be working fine.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSame. Thank for keeping the wiki Cool!
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.I just spent some time updating the messages, adding Trivia, Spoilers, and Grammar versions.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Can this item be used for messaging about common new page issues (like lack of indexing, lack of crosswicking, wrong namespace, stub articles and de novo Main/-to-work redirects; I message several people over such issues daily since August 2013)?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanMods can add/alter messages. Mods, how do we want to handle requests for new canned messages? Via Holler?

Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyOutstanding. "Mis-play" threw me off for a moment.
EDIT:
Do we want a "rude edit reason" option? Mislaunch of YKTTW?
Edit War warning. "Knock it off, take to discussion".

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984@7: The "Edit requests for locked pages" thread? It's frequently used for "general edit and such-stuff" requests for the staff. It has the advantage that it allows for public commentary from interested parties.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThanks, Eddie!
Using that thread for requests is logical. ATT could also work.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.+1 to request changes in the locked pages thread.
"Edit War warning. "Knock it off, take to discussion". "
I disrecommend that kind of language. Polite requests have worked wonders for me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanExplaining a 'bad edit' could go into the place of 'badness'

New theme music also a boxEdit requests... seems out of place. Maybe just a dedicated Tech Wishlist thread.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'll oppose that idea since it's just overcomplicating the process. Also, I disagree with it being "out of place".
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman@12
Well, that's the gist.
Obviously, not trying to be rude, just firm. Edit warring is more "active" than bad grammar, we'd like for them to stop now rather than after another half-dozen "get the last word in" edits.
Part of the problem is, if you're warning people to stop edit warring then it's probably already too late.

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984I'm sure there's a way to make an "edit war" message more gentle. I'll take a crack at it.
Edit: Done.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Looks good.
How about a Bluenose Bowdlerizer warning? "Please don't censor the pages / check to see if parental controls are active".

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Yeah, we want to draft as politely as possible. I think we sometimes snap at people because of our frustration dealing with the same issues so often, so if we can store up some polite-ese, I'm sure it will be a friendlier place to hang out and be more effective.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyOK, with regard of @6, I'll ask for the following items to be added, since they come up fairly frequently during my daily new page screenings:
Thanks for helping us keep the wiki cool

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think I got all of those. The input form was inadvertently overwriting existing entries when I tried to add new ones.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Two things:
- I liked the Buffy Speak "a badness".
- Can we get a This Troper message?

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Do you think we could get messages for example indentation, zero context examples, and failure to use namespaces? I think more than half of the PMs I've sent out have been about example indentation, and the other two problems are not exactly uncommon either.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes. All of the requests above are already present. Check the details of the messages.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
We've come up with a standard set of messages that can be sent in the same way as the old 'natterfy' message. Hopefully this will let us clue in new tropers with how we do things without old hands becoming exasperated at saying the same things over and over.
It on the article history. Send a message about "a badness."
