Episode 5. In which there are dates.

"What's going on?" is an apt question.

One, why is it wrong for him to say yes to the sneaky cat? Two, Nanami gets pulled along whether she wants to or claims she doesn't want to.

Hint, hint, nudge, nudge. You know, he really shouldn't, just to teach her to be honest.

I wonder if she could be any more feminine if she tried.

Can't blame them for being idiots. They're really just seeing what's actually there.

"It's surpringly... normal." Again, I agree with him. And then she explained, and everything was okay again.

Well, that's a true yandere flipping at the flick of a switch.

She really is her own worst enemy.

You know, a lap pillow isn't really that comfortable.

I kinda like that, at least so far, she really does seem like an actual sister rather than a girlfriend pretending to be a sister.

So, next episode. A beach episode. And it seems like it's going to focus on the youngest looking. Yay.

Don't you mean someone who actually is the age she's supposed to be? :P

Is she? I mean, this is anime. There is at least a 50% chance she's a teacher. Heck, considering this series, her being Really 700 Years Old wouldn't surprise me.

*sigh* I'll just break this whole line of conversation by saying "she's the imouto character" and leave it at that. This series already has its requisite ridiculously old loli.

Uhh...is it just me or were some of the events switched around? I don't remember that box...

It's hilarious that Megumu doesn't actually seem to know a thing about manliness.

The asymmetrical green braid on the one side of Nanami's head bugs me.

I blame his unseen sister. Poor guy's been traumatized so much. XD

And wow, they're really rushing through the material, or at the very least rearranging things so that future plot points show up early — for example, I don't remember the box underneath the dorm AT ALL.

Fifth Flag:

• No way Nanami was going to do this date thing everyone was pumped up for. Just get her some cake, and she'll be fine.

Episode 6. In which there's a switch.

So what isn't dangerous? If everything is, is there a point to it being dangerous? Or was that just an expansion on the humans hanging on a thread thing? Translation might've been a little odd.

She seems to stand out in the style.

Ever reliable, Ruri. I think the question was answered as soon as the image of the prez appeared. Nothing further needed. And she even offered compensation if he wasn't satisfied with it. Not at all speaking for her own interests.

I think they should've switched the groups around. Except maybe Ruri. She's funny.

Judging by the names of the two new faces, I'm guessing they're also part of the RPG-based Unit Class characters (like the girls...and guy(?)...at Quest Dormitory).

Looks like Sakura makes her debut in the main series (as opposed to the flashbacks).

The clues are in their surnames, and yes, the Imouto-character also doubles as the Priestess in this case.

The girls sound more and more bored in the previews with every episode that passes.

Sixth Flag:

• What a paranoid council. Why didn't the council just say it's dangerous to breathe and leave it at that?
• One group goes to the sea, while another to the forest? Heh, reminds me of when I went on an Ecology field trip.
• One step, and Souta breaks down. Very traumatic, that cruise ship disaster. So traumatic, he had to do that scream.
• Ruru's pleasant. And that's a Nice Hat.
• Elder got younger as time passed. And Akane's very modest. And she loves shoehorning Nanami into everything. And random, don't forget random!
• Group switch. To the despair-inducing sea with you, Souta! Wait, weren't you just...?
• So Ruru's parents manned the cruise liner. Even so, you were too hard on yourself, kiddo. Leave that baggage behind.
• Persistent death flags. Shoo! Shoooo! Go away! And so, Souta became Ruru's big brother, just like how he became Okiku's little brother. Cleric get! Story progression on!
• Now, now, Souta. Ruri was your only salvation. And Mimori just wanted to have more fun.
• Another new face appears.

Episode 7. In which there's a reasonable prez.

"I concluded it was pointless to play along." Gotta love her.

I find Ruri suggesting herself as a younger sister funnier than it probably is. And the big sister is somewhat overreacting.

I wonder if prez is confused about who the date is a reward for.

Rawr, rawr.

She is pretty.

But surprisingly enough, her head is set straight on. She's aware of how people see her, and how she wants to be.

Her trying to change her language is cute. Though I'm not sure which I like more. Well, it's not really that noticeable unless you know Japanese.

I think patting someone on the head kind of loses its impact if the person is wearing a hat.

Well, that's always a solution. But poor prez, never amounting to anything good.

Lots of backstory and stuff. And very heavy on the idea that the ability to change fate is very dangerous, in a predetermined world.

So physically taking the flag and ripping it off is a viable solution? Well, it wasn't permanent, but still.

I kinda wonder if this series is deeper than it seems, or just more complex.

I want to bet on both. Deep and complex.

Plus, this show has a refreshing theme: Tired of Harem Heroes? Here, have one of them with an extra burden and a bunch of templars gunning for him.

Seventh Flag:

• I thought Megumu had only one older sister. But he has more than one. Double+ the feminine doting!
• Ruri doesn't mess around.
• Don't be ticked because Souta has a little sister, be glad he brought home a little sister, Okiku.
• Hmm... Why yes, Ruri's a little sister herself. In production years.
• Pretty nice one-piece you wore for the date, Mimori. And you're not really as dumb as bricks as I thought you were. Living life the way you want... Heh, you gained a lot of points in my book.
• Still, you are unreliable.
• Mei's cold and aloof. But Kuru's the key to her icy heart.
• Let's have that awaited talk, Mei, Souta.
• The World Ends With Souta.
• If Souta never existed, Nanami, Akane, Kuru... Yeah...
• Didn't think the teacher would be plot-relevant. And now, she'll be the hero of the parallel universe. The World Ends With Miyuki Hatate. I wonder if the "was his own grandpa" card will work here... Nope!
• Mei converted rather quickly. The price was getting a mind wipe from Sakura herself. Now, she'll forge new memories.

Episode 8, in which there's even more death flag dodging, and hoopla Ninja Maid action.

Episode 8. In which there's savviness of the genre kind.

Rin is just concerned for his well-being and development as an upstanding citizen. Not at all jealous.

Incoming reliable person.

Outgoing reliable person and lazy boy.

The very first thing she insists on when he comments on her richness is that she doesn't want to that distance them from each other. I wonder if she's Genre Savvy enough to catch that that is one of the major obstacles in many series.

Manhood denied. Or at least straightness. But I'm guessing manhood.

"How could you get kidnapped and not tell me?" Leaving how that sounds on its own alone, she was right there when he got kidnapped.

Following after Akane's manners is a good idea. Copying her is a less good idea, but funny.

One of them is sane about that. Or just too tsundere about it. But really, that's a collective order, not several orders meant to add up. The servants should get at least that much.

Yeah, Rin is Genre Blind. Or maybe she's planning on taking advantage of that. And I'm not quite sure that's the best way to get rid of her depressed flag.

Kind of surprised how they changed the nature of the assassin in the anime. In the manga it was someone else entirely.
