Yuugiou Arc-V/ Yu-gi-oh! Arc-V

I keep thinking of weird variations of how it would go.

One: It goes a la Dartz, like HandsomeRob says, and the heroes go through the same dilemma as Atem (if I destroy them, will they die for reals?). Either way, Drama ensues.

Two: They appear as a virtual version of their normal selves (who may or may not really be them). Yuri uses them as a punching bag or to force the heroes to use them as a punching bag. Drama ensues.

Three: The anime Yami Bakura Shadow Game Up To Eleven. Yuri summons Halil and Olga and uses them as materials to Fusion summon a new monster or a horrible humanoid hybrid abomination. Then he summons professor Marco, who Fusion summons Halilga and other monster to summon a new monster, and Marco himself is used as a Fusion material...

That was disappointing. Shinji was really hype in the first Duel, but it was not as much this time. I guess he won't top the "Our turn" moment. But seriously, how does the guy intends to start the proletariat revolution with a card like freaking Bee Force - Pin the Hit? Shinji must be the shame of all card game communists out there.

On other note, why the hell does Yuya think Yuzu being with Sora equals Yuzu being safe? That would be a much greater reason for concern to me. Sure they still consider each other friends, but Yuya must be at least vaguely aware of Sora's goals and quoting Sora's own words "I have something more important than friendship".

Whereas I really like this set, because they actually feel like a bunch of weak cards that can overcome powerful ones, unlike his previous ones, which were kinda beefy.

Because even if Sora is part of the enemy faction they clearly still consider each other friends. Plus Sora went out of his way to let Yuya know that Yuzu is alive. He didn't have to do that.

Given how Sora was acting last time they met, it's a bit odd that Yuya's perfectly okay with him running around with Yuzu's helmet. Everyone else probably would've seen it as a taunt.

It was really nice of Shinji to wait however long it took for Sora to catch up to a couple of goddamn motorbikes, and until Yuya was ready to act, though. Better manners than "lol fuck your brother, ninja guy I don't know."

It's strange to me too, though it's believable that Yuya would latch on to a positive interpretation no matter what the original intention. We'll just have to wait and see where they're gonna go with Sora.

Shinji's gained a lot more color with those new monsters, though his playstyle's almost completely different than what it was during his duel with Tsukikage. Better fits his philosophy of the Commons banding together though. However, then he hypocritically talks shit about Tuning Magician in the preview. I wonder if losing this duel will lead to a big moment of self-reflection.

I had to roll my eyes at the council...though I'm a little surprised that Reiji didn't fire back with another "no u" retort.

I get the feeling that Shinji went on another Top/Common rant during that entire time he wasn't discarding the card. We just didn't hear it.

Yeah I was kind of laughing at the fact he intends to duel Yuya, who has by this point faced multiple Frightfur monsters with more than 3000 atk...with dinky little Pin the Hit.

...though I am gonna reserve totally discarding the usefulness of that after Sergey's duel. Underestimating low level monsters never ends well.

"I activate Pin the Hit's other effect! Once per turn, while I control three Pin the Hit's, I can special summon a Bee Force monster from my hand. Then, they gain attack equal to the summoned monster" or something like that. I mean, otherwise Pin the Hit is a spark on a dinky 200 attack body.

And with the Queen Bee Synchro Tuner...!

...its a Hinotama on a dinky 200 atk body...

The card is fully readable in a few shots and it's effects is really nothing more than once per turn Sparks.

"Putting a card in your deck you can't use spells your doom!"

...Are you fucking serious? You're the guy who's supporting the whole "Fight as one" thing, remember?

So watched the ep.

Shinji wasn't completely unsympathetic about what was done to Yuzu, but he knew he couldn't do anything about it but try and change society.

I hate him a little less now. At least he did acknowledge that what was done to her was awful.

So on a scale of 1-10, how much did you hate him before and how much do you hate him now?

At this point I've sort of just lost my anger against Jean. Since he's been revealed as having his own plans and is being set up as either a reformed person (Depending on what the deal he makes with Yuya entails) or he'll be the first chessmaster to be defeated. Also, my anger has sort of shifted towards the society as a whole instead of just him, since it's readily apparent that the entire society is screwed up and would probably devolve into an anarchic mess (Especially when the ideals of a competitive society are so deeply ingrained in the heads of the citizens, and they're living in an isolated island city.) without him around.

Can't really put any numbers in it.

Maybe he's more sympathetic to Yuya because he knows him a little, while as far as he knew, Tsukikage was just a servant of the elite like Sector Security.

I'm only getting No Sympathy vibes from Shinji. All he was concerned with was how to use what happened to Yuzu cause a bigger upstart with the Commons.

Yeah, my disagreement with Shinji is more that I don't think he actually cares about people as much, at least people in the individual sense. He definitely cares about them as a group, that's not in question. That being said, individual people can pretty much go to hell for all he cares, as long as they help advance his cause - he used Tsukikage as a way to advance his own agenda while disregarding him as a person, and he pretty much told Yuya the same thing - he doesn't care that he's worried about Yuzu, or even what happened to Yuzu, just how it helps advance his cause. Hell, he told Yuya directly that he was doing this so that there wouldn't be another Yuzu - not even caring about the one that had just happened.

I think he's the kind of person who'd be willing to drown the city in blood and violence to achieve his goals, and could end up on the wrong side of the thin line between revolutionary and terrorist. Which is why I don't exactly like him.

That sounds about right.

Me, I am absolutely fascinated by him.

He represents to me an idealistic heroic sort, submerged in a society that basically beat the more likeable portions of that out of him, until nothing remained but hatred for the Tops, Rage at the system, the basic remaining ideal, and concern for people as a group over concern for a single individual.

He embodies the ideal of The Many Come Before The Few, and I suspect half the reason he opposes the Tops is because they are Few and yet they put themselves before the Many in a selfish manner.

I would love to see how far he would go. I would love even more to be at his side and see if I could push him further...

I'm curious about how far he'll go as well.

...I just don't like him. He's kind of a dick.

Which is weird.

When he first showed up, outside of some justified wariness towards Yuya and company, he didn't seem so bad.

He seemed so excited when Enjoy Chojiro got his groove back, and he seemed surprised at Crow's sudden coldness towards Yuya, but now.....

I guess with his goal truly in sight for the first time ever, he's just embracing the opportunity, no matter what it takes.

Pin the Hit is going to need a major buff to be worth playing.
