If the caption mentions the count, sure. Weak, but still better.

Check out my fanfiction! What about this one?
Not better than the current. Just a number with some additional fluff.

Check out my fanfiction!Agreed. I'm tempted to call this a BUPKIS case because, looking through the examples, I'm not seeing anything that makes for a succinct pic and gets the trope across.
Well, the trope is about the number's spiritual significance, and it tends to attract bad examples of basically anything with the number. So having a picture of prayer beads may actually help getting it better examples.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I like the prayer beads idea. Yes, a caption explaining that there's a 108 is necessary, but that they're 108 of what looks to be Buddhist beads seems like a fairly good image.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Maybe for the time being, we should remove the image.
Here's a shot in the dark. Virgo Shaka from Saint Seiya holding a rosary of 108 beads. Sitting◊, standing◊, and fanart (third on top row).

I think I like the prayer beads alone in the OP's image better.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Yeah, but you kinda have to Take Our Word for It that there are 108 beads there.
I may nave miscounted, but 1.1 does have 108 beads. I think readers probably will take it at face value, or if they want to count, at least it adds up.
I support the beads.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe beads are good for me as well, especially since it does allude to the symbolism.
I can live with the prayer beads.
I like 9.2 the best, since you actually can count all the beads there and assume there's 108.
I was going to suggest the Pokedex entry for Spiritomb, a pokemon that was formed by 108 spirits, weighs 108kg, and has a base special attack and defense of 108, but I'm not able to come up with any good depictions of that.
Bump; crowner?
I think it's a good idea.
Blank crowner's hooked; no time to fill right now.
Options added.
I think having just the necklace works a little better, since it has better emphasis on it. Of the others, I like the standing one the most, but the image is still rather busy for the trope it tries to portray, especially as the meaning is very subtle.
Check out my fanfiction!Pre-weekend bump for votes; only one in the green right now.
That Mala thing has 115 or 116 beads.
I want my money back.
lol
lolDid you actually count?
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Yes. The confusion comes from the the bead that connects the thing. It might be one bead, or two beads with a strange fusion.
lol
Edit:Disregard that, I suck cock. It's only 110-111.

Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
Yeah, so the image on 108 is a sign with the number "10800" on it, with the caption that "the numbers are bad". That's completely not illustrative, and (unlike e.g. 13) this trope is not that 108 is a bad number.
(incidentally, many examples on this page are also bad, but that's a job for TRS)
Suggested replacement◊. Yes, that's a necklace with 108 beads, which at least is significant to the trope, unlike the 10800 sign.
