Poor Image: Death By Irony

Better. Death by Ambulance should link to this page, at the very least, as I have done by modifying its incredibly short description.

50 is a big improvement, and I'm fine with it going to Death by Ambulance.

While it really should go on Death by Ambulance, but I am concerned by that trope having a very limited number of examples and not thriving. I mean, it has three wicks. We need to do something about that. It basically turns this into an image that nobody is gonna see.

Images aren't for showing off. They're for illustrating tropes. And it can at least be crosswicked a little more. And mentioned on the supertrope.

IMO the Death by Ambulance article should be folded into Death by Irony.

I think that helps. Now both these two pages link together. I suppose my concern is that if the ambulance picture goes on Death by Ambulance, Death by Irony won't have a picture, other than that beaver, which I'd rather not do. I at least want to see if we can find a good image of an ironic death for Death by Irony

Sounds plausible. Death by Ambulance is a subtrope that doesn't seem thriving anyway.

This looks like a job for TRS.

Bump for votes...right now the crowner's going nowhere, but considering the proposal for Death by Ambulance, I wonder if we should just close the crowner and put that pic on that page.

I'd say that's the most convenient route especially if this ends up going to the shop.

Okay, I'm starting to scrape the metaphorical bottom of my imagination barrel. How about this Oglaf strip (It's safe for work) about shape shifters assassinating a king (presumably in a Kill and Replace plot)... only to find out one of their colleagues already killed him and was posing as him already, so they murdered a fellow shapeshifter by mistake. It'd probably take panels 2, 3, and 7 to convey at least.

I think that's already being used somewhere.

I really like it and if its not being used it can work!

And speaking of safe for work... the ads, are not!

Okay, I made this based on the game Portal. I realize it's rough, but I didn't want to expend a lot of effort if the consensus is this doesn't work. If y'all do like it in concept, I can tweak and refine it to make it more illustrative.

I think that concept is good.

Er...He's leaning through a portal preparing to catch some device and then suddenly he's off to the side and the object is looping? I honestly have no idea what's going on there...

Well, the idea is that the turret is trying to shoot him, he jumps through the portal, so the turret shoots itself. Perhaps it's more obvious to someone who's played Portal. Execution could be better, but as a concept, well, it beats the beaver.

I don't get "death" at all from that; must be something about having played the game.

Okay, added a third panel of it blowing up. The pic does rely on people knowing or figuring out that the orange and blue circles are portals. I was hoping the opening panel with the guy jumping in one and coming out the other would help. I inverted the orientation to see if it "reads" better left to right. Though I might play with the positioning of the portals, the guy jumping, and the turret so that he's jumping in at the top left and coming out of the bottom right.
