Mirage is pretty much the closest thing the first movie had to an unresolved plot thread. We don't know where she came from, we don't know why she officially doesn't exist, and she just disappears from the story before the big fight at the end. I'm all up for learning more about her.
I didn't write any of that. With Mirage, the only thing that bothers me about her is how much of a blatant Karma Houdini she is. She helped Syndrome murder all of those innocent supers, and yet she gets off scot-free. Don't get me wrong, she's a cool character and I would like to know about her, but her being a Karma Houdini bugs me alot.
I'm looking forward to Incredibles 2; I loved the first movie.
Did someone post the news that it is confirmed that Brad Bird will be writing the script?

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureMirage works as an agent for the NSA in the comics, which appears to have carried over for the Infinity game, so that's either her probation or she was working as a double agent the whole time.
Hmm, a Monster's Inc. Work Com. That sounds like a neat idea
Ooh could we get some satire on the NSA then? Maybe that's why Mr. Bird only announced the sequel recently.

And she didn't get off quite scott-free; Helen punched her lights out. Okay, it's because she thought Mirage was the other woman, but it still counts!
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatBob also threatened to "snap her in half like a toothpick".
Fresh-eyed movie blogAnd later on nearly made good on it before finding out his family was still alive.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great"You must be Mrs. Incre—" -punched-
i admit, i did chuckle a bit at that part.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.Alright, alright you guys got me lol. You guys made good points!
I can't believe I forgot about that part when Elastigirl socked her in the face, and yet I claim I'm a big fan of the movie. *hangs head in shame*

Honestly, as weird as it sounds, Mr. Incredible's scenes after the plane gets blown up are my favorite in the movie. The man loses everything, gets it back, and thinks he'll lose it again. It's this horrible swirling emotional mess and I love it.
My various fanfics.Honestly, the whole sequence from the moment the plane is shoot down is AAAAAAAWWWWWWEEEEE Some. Mr. Incredible desperation. The speech about "those are bad man who will kill you". Elastigirl (imho Pixar's best female character so far) stretching through the whole floor. The chase across the Island. "You have been buuuuuusy." The movie is just jumping from one emotion to the next, from thoughtful to suspenseful to funny moments and keeps doing so until the very end.
To me, one of my favorite awesome/emotional moments was when the family was in the city, and there was a rampage going on, and Bob and Helen are arguing and Bob outright shouts something like "I don't want to lose you again!!"
Yes! "I'm not strong enough!" I love that!
My various fanfics. The movie is equal parts superhero cartoon, family dramedy, and spy thriller -let's not forget that last element- a very unlikely combination, yet somehow, it worked. That is why it is so awesome. Hopefully they can repeat that.
Brad Bird says that slow quiet moments, that build into suspense for later or establish key points, are GREAT when used in movies and should be used and appreciated more often.
The first two are non-negotiable, but maybe they could make the sequel stand out by changing up the third. Disaster movie? Crime mystery? What other genres play well with superheroes?
Stuff what I do.Whatever The Avengers did in their movie?
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceIs Joss Whedon a genre, though?
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Indeed. Rewatching the movie, it surprises me how quiet it is all the way from the flashforward to the present to when Bob gets Mirage's message.
It was Pixar's then-longest movie for a reason.
aw man why is (The Second Coming of Christ) removed?
:/
The thing is, the superheroes are run by the government (you can find out more about that in the DVD extras) so the spy elements cannot be fully eliminated, but yeah, a sequel will probably focus on something else. (I wouldn't mind seeing Mirage return though. )
And I have to agree that the movie really kicks into high gear in the second half, specifically during the VERY James-Bondian "100 Mile Dash" music/action sequence.

Do you think Mirage will be involved in the sequel's plot? She seemed only exist to hammer in the midlife crisis theme of the original movie. Having her and older Violet interact could be interesting though.
