  • Name: Brandon Aldaren
  • Age: 17
  • Gender: male
  • Appearance: A red haired young man with bright green eyes, he seems to have dressed shabbily, even though the tournament is a prestigious occasion. His outfit consists of a white t-shirt, a grey jacket, black pants, and sneaker shoes. He has a rather taut, wiry frame, and is very tall, standing at the height of six foot six and a half.
  • Personality: Brandon is a rather simple, though not dull individual. His simplicity is not insipidity, rather, it takes a rather more efficient look, though not without compassion. Brandon is a very compassionate, kind hearted young man...though this also puts him into the realms of Beware the Nice Ones - it is not advisable to screw with him, or to callously manipulate people around him.
  • Bio: His bio looks simple at first - a rather ordinary Farm Boy who moved into the city for school, found himself drawn to these cards, and became a student. He has since tagged along to the Tournament thanks to his friend Lionel.
  • Duel Spirit: Number 39: Utopia Roots
  • Deck: Utopian Aura
  • Monsters:
    • 3x Goblindbergh
    • 3x Kagetokage
    • 2x Summoner Monk
    • 3x Star Drawing
    • 3x V-Salamander
    • 3x Gogogo Golem
    • 1x ZW Tornado Bringer
    • 1x ZW Lightning Blade
    • 1x ZW Asura Blow
    • 1x SZW Fenrir Sword
  • Spells:
    • 2x Reverse Breaker
    • 2x XYZ Change tactics
    • 1x Rank-Down-Magic Numeron Fall
    • 3x Rank-Up-Magic Numeron Force
    • 2x Rank-Up-Magic Limited Barian's Force
    • 2x Instant Fusion
    • 1x Dark Hole
  • Traps:
    • 1x Utopia Arise!
    • 2x Utopian Aura
    • 1x Bottomless Trap Hole
    • 1x Solemn Warning
    • 2x XYZ Reborn
  • Extra Deck:
    • 3x Number 39: Utopia
    • 3x Number C39 Utopia Ray
    • 2x Number C39 Utopia Ray V
    • 2x Number C39 Utopia Ray Victory
    • 1x Number 39: Utopia Roots
    • 2x ZW Leo Arms
    • 2x Flame Swordsman
  • Other:
  • Utopia Arise!
  • Trap
  • Activate only if the only other card you control is a Utopia monster. You can banish 1 Utopia monster from your extra deck; that Utopia monster on the field can activate the effect of that banished Utopia monster by detaching XYZ Material(s). At the end of your third turn after this card was activated, XYZ Summon that banished Utopia monster using the targeted Utopia monster on the field as XYZ Material.

Not to be that guy (again....) but nick what is this.

For one (and yes you are running the RP so I understand) you already have 2 characters running around as part of the main plot (and yes you could argue that David is a NPC, but he's featured in the torniment of this arc against a NPC, take from that what you will) don't you think 3 is a bit excessive?

Second the custom card, now as ever I'm ok with this if everyone else is, but this one is a special case of no, a card that not only has you go +1 (on a play that 80% of the time requires your opponent to go at minamum -1) but with absolutely 0 negative reproductions to gaining 2 monsters with 2500 attack (or more). There is a reason no card like this exists in the game.

Nick, no offense intended but that cards fucking insane man. That's cleared the threshold on broken, circumnavigated the globe twice crossed the threshold again and given us all the finger. When we used custom cards we did at least have to clear it with everyone else just to balance it and even half the anime only and/or banned list cards are tamer than this. This card is ALWAYS a massive minus to your opponent regardless.

You're the GM so you can tell me to f off but still this thing is way too insane. Over-Powered doesn't even begin to describe it. As I said you can tell me to go to hell and use it anyway but I do hope you'll listen.

[up][up] I edited the custom card to be more situational.

[up] I don't think you're acting out of line, what I think is that you are speaking in hyperbole. Special summoning two XYZ monsters from the extra deck, without XYZ Material, which are needed for their effects, and negating any other effects they may have unrelated to their XYZ Material, requiring you to have only one monster, locking them in defense mode for a whole turn...I don't think I see the broken card you do.

If there is some broken combo this card has that I am not aware of, enlighten me.

As for why I am adding another character to my roster, it is related to the plot and necessities therein. Its not simply to add another character.

I've got nothing wrong with the character, your G Ming your bound to have a lot of characters on the go at the same time solely because they are plotline.

But even with the edit to make it more situational it's still a free +1 and the Utopia monsters have good DEF as well so if you've say already you a vanilla utopia on the field it can just protect them until then but it also gives you two free targets for numeron fall as well as limited barain's force and numeron force. I'm sorry but even with the stipulation it's still massively OP.

If NOTHING else it's a 2000 and 2500 ads on fields that thanks to the vanilla can easily be protected.

Its a gimmick card that relies on you having already Numeron Falled or Ranked Up. And as is covered many times in the main Yugioh Thread, Rank Up strategies are rather inconsistent at best.

You cannot have a Vanilla Utopia on the field and use this card. It requires a Utopia monster with another XYZ monster as its XYZ Material.

Yeah. Actually, re-reading it again. While I don't think it's NEARLY as OP as Xargnio says. I still think being able to Special Summon two XYZ monsters is over the top. I'm going to say no.

You are right there but even then it's not as tricky to do as it's out to be simply because people run either too many or too few. This guy has enough of them that odds are by the time this card could come into play there is a rose or fall on board. Most importantly Utopia Ray doesn't have the stipulation of having to be risen/falled.

Let's say you are facing me, Just go Utopia, Overlay Utopia Ray set one pass turn. When I XYZ you now can use it. AFTER ONE TURN

[up][up]I like the new one. I can't see any problems with that one.smile

It is a card for a Utopia deck that basically equates to "Shit, This Utopia's effect would help more right now."

Importing the character I had from another YGO RP that I kinda fell out of due to RL stuff.

  • Name: Stephen Lichfield
  • Age: 16
  • Gender: Male
  • Appearance: Stephen's got a very distinct face: Roman nose, short brown hair, narrow green eyes behind a pair of glasses. His blazer is customized so it looks more like a waistcoat. Under that, he wears a white long-sleeved dress shirt, a black tie, black slacks and brown dress-shoes.
  • Personality: Stephen is stoic, and interested in all things esoteric and macabre. Stephen is highly intelligent, and has a tendency to use archaic or overly-complex words in his speech. Despite how grim he may appear, he actually has a pretty strong sense of humor, albeit a wry, sardonic, self-depreciating one. His idea of a good time, outside of dueling, his sitting by the fireplace with a horror novel and a cup of tea.
  • Bio: Hailing from Rhode Island , Stephen is the son of August Lichfield, an acclaimed horror novelist. Stephen got into dueling when he saw kids playing the card game at school. His first card was Skull Servant, which he found in a gutter. Stephen did some research and built an entire deck around a card others thought to be completely useless, and surprised his opponents with his Wight deck.
  • Duel Spirit: Skull Servant (His speech is colored    like this    Bumbling, hisses his 's' sounds and makes rattling noises every now and then. Likes puns.)
Deck:
  • Monsters (31):
    • Castle Of Dark Illusions (2)
    • Pumpking The King Of Ghosts

If it isnt too much trouble, Id like to get in on the action!

  • Name: Jason Camlann (Yup, an import from Duel Academy 3, sorry guys!)
  • Age: 17
  • Gender: Male
  • Appearance: Jason is reasonably tall and carries himself with pride. He usually wears a confident face and his eyes seem to burn with some unseen fire. He doesnt put much effort into his appearance, but comes off as ruggedly handsome.
  • Personality: Confident and determined, Jason is an enduring soul, with a fierce drive to complete and overcome challenges he is faced with. However, this narrow-sightedness occasionally blinds him to other commitments. He is loyal and possesses his own personal code of honour that he attempts to live by at all times and he is reasonably smart, owning a keen tactical mind, and is a fairly good fighter to boot. Despite this, he isnt too smart when it comes to academics, particularily sciences, art and maths, subjects that he has great difficulty in. He also believes himself "above" using manipulation or underhanded methods to achieve his goals, which occasionally sets him back.
  • Bio: Born as a son to a former military commander and an actress, Jason had a conflicted upbringing. His father was strict and unwavering while his mother kind and compassionate. Arguements in his household were common, and while they were never usually anything major, the arguing affected Jason in his childhood. Jason was not talented at school, and struggled immensely with classes and lessons, due to his seemingly very low attention span. His teachers would often comment that he appeared to be daydreaming during classes, when in reality, he was always catching the image of a Duel Spirit in the corner of his eye. Despite the support of his parents, Jason could not cope with the style of academic learning. During this period of doubt, Jason took to playing Duel Monsters in his spare time and found that he was rather talented at it, developing a special bond with his cards, a bond which allowed him to communicate with one of the spirits, Artorigus. While his parents couldn't see the spirits as he could, his mother was impressed with his ability, and after some persuasion, conviced his father to allow Jason to attend Duel Academy, where he is now. Jason looks to improve on his duelling skills, as well as assist Artorigus in some task that he needs completing...
  • Dorm: XXX
  • Duel Spirit: The various forms of Noble Knight Artorigus is his personal duel spirit, although he is mildly sensitive to the existance of others, particularily those of the other Noble Knights.
  • Deck (40):
    • Monsters (17):
      • Noble Knight Artorigus
      • Noble Knight Gawayn x2
      • Noble Knight Drystan
      • Noble Knight Medraut x3
      • Noble Knight Borz x3
      • Noble Knight Gwalchavad
      • Noble Knight Peredur
      • Noble Knight Eachtar
      • Noble Knight Brothers
      • Ignoble Knight of Black Laundsallyn
      • Gwenhwyfar, Queen of Noble Arms
      • Lady of the Lake
    • Spells (18):
      • Reinforcement of the Army
      • Foolish Burial
      • Soul Charge x2
      • Mystical Space Typhoon x2
      • Kaiser Coliseum x2
      • Noble Arms of Destiny x2
      • Noble Arms - Gallatin
      • Noble Arms - Caliburn x2
      • Noble Arms - Excaliburn x2
      • Noble Arms - Arfeudutyr
      • Noble Knights of the Round Table x2
    • Traps (5):
      • Bottomless Trap Hole
      • Trap Stun x3
      • Solemn Warning
    • Extra Deck (15):
      • Ignoble Knight of High Laundsallyn
      • Artorigus, King of the Noble Knights x2
      • Sacred Noble Knight of King Artorigus x2
      • Blade Armor Ninja
      • Heroic Champion Excalibur
      • Starliege Paladynamo
      • Photon Papilloperative
      • Number 50: Blackship of Corn
      • Diamond Dire Wolf
      • Evilswarm Exciton Knight
      • Number 101: Silent Honor ARK
      • Gagaga Cowboy
      • Maestroke, the Symphony Djinn
  • Other: I'd love to make a Noble Knight custom card but knowing how precariously the archetype is balanced between mostly casual and flat out OP Id say its best left as is.

• Name: Kori

• Age: 16

• Gender: Male • Appearance: Almosy always wearing a hood to hide his face, he seldomly reveals his face. Those that have seen his face, have seen a young-man with red-eyes. He wears skinny-jeans and a shirt that has an image of what appears to be the solar system exploding. He stands fairly tall and slender. Adding to his strange appearance, are the black glasses that serve as an attempt to further hide himself and his eyes.

Personality: Shy and reserved, Kori, almost never speaks unless spoken to and even then seldomly provides a response to those that pay him any attention. Kori prefers fading into the background and observing others.

Kori's reveal personality is usually revealed in duels; it is in these situaitions where Kori's quiet nature is overtaken by a sadistic personality that enjoys hurting his opponent(s) through the duel. Victory of the duel means nothing to him in these moments as the only thing he makes his goal harming his opponent's monsters and his opponent.

Kori takes personal offence and becomes extremely angry when his favorite card, Galaxy-Eyes Cloud Dragon, is destroyed by his opponent. Often being willing to lose the duel than have his monster be sent to the graveyard.

• Bio:

Coming from a poor home, Kori has always dreamt of traveling into space and seeing Earth from space. His fascination with the universe and the over all galaxy is the cause for his particularly strong link to his Galaxy monsters. Kori intially used a Different Dimension(D.D) Deck but over time, he slowly managed to win(but mostly steal) the Galaxy cards parts of his deck.

Kori's most enjoyed victory came when he won Galaxy-Eyes Cloud Dragon. His fondness of the card and its spirit stems from the victory the card brought to him.

I decided to do something a mite unusual / controversial. Given themes of this season, I decided to foreshadow developments.

Art's new deck - The Golden King.

  • 2x Kagetokage
  • 2x Photon Thrasher
  • 3x Parallax Mors
  • 1x Parallax Dreis
  • 2x Parallax Pyxis
  • 3x Parallax Draco
  • 2x Parallax Aquilas
  • 2x Parallax Lepus
  • 2x Parallax Pavo
  • 2x Parallax Antlia

  • 1x Dimensional Gateway
  • 2x Recharge of Chaos
  • 3x Rank-Up-Magic Neo Chaos Force
  • 3x Rank-Up-Magic Limited Barian's Force
  • 1x Dark Hole
  • 1x Mind Control
  • 2x Mystical Space Typhoon

  • 3x Call of the Haunted
  • 1x Chaos Dragon's Roar
  • 1x Bottomless Trap Hole
  • 1x Compulsory Evacuation Device
  • 1x Solemn Warning

  • 2x Number 101: Silent Honor ARK
  • 2x Number C101: Silent Honor DARK
  • 1x Number 102: Star Seraph Sentry
  • 1x Number C102: Starfallen Seraph Noble Archfiend
  • 1x Number 103: Ragna Zero
  • 1x Number C103: Ragna Infinity
  • 2x Number 39: Utopia
  • 1x Number C39: Utopia Ray V
  • 1x Evilswarm Exciton Knight
  • 1x Dark-Line Warrior Caingorgorm
  • 2x Number C69: Heraldry Crest of Horror

one and two links.

I have had these criticized and given they're a Rank-Up obsessed Archetype, which is a deck type that is at best inconsistent and, given Evii's Nightmare thing before, I figured it would not be too horrible for me to do this.

Well this isn't exactly how I saw myself spending the morning.

From top to bottom on the custom cards

Moros - that's fine

Dreis - no, 100 times no, the card has 0 cost and would give 101 the ability to use it's effect twice, it's a unsessesery +1

Pyxis - that's fine

Draco - is fine

Aquilas - no, not only is it cheep deck thinning, but the gain 1000 lps is just unsessesery.

Lepus - I'm ok with

Pavo - ok

Parallax - sure

Gateway - cutting it a bit fine but sure

Reacharge - sure

Neo - I'd rather it have the same limitation as the newer rank up cards where it has to summon the same number

Roar - no, and I shouldn't even need to give a reason on this nice, just no.

You at the barricade listen to this.
