...crap.

The Formless Flesh boss really looks like something out of Bloodborne. I look forward to fighting the new bosses and seeing what gimmicks they bring to the battlefield.
Oh, and we finally have a use for that statue in the hamlet: it lets you see cutscenes and the bosses' backstories.
^^ Well that should help solve the problem of people deliberately using team full of stressed out people to explore the dungeon and not treating them...
Doesn't affect me anyway, it's been a LONG time since I had people getting affliction...

Give me cute or give me...something?Heart attacks, huh?
Heh, feels like a case of Be Careful What You Wish For since many players had been saying that "stress isn't stressful enough."
Though since a hero's stress stays at 100 after being afflicted, I hope that my pawns won't all go down because of; stress reaches max -> afflicted -> +1 stress -> heart attack

Moved handles because mehThe way it works is that stress now goes to 200. If you reach 100, you get afflicted. Reach 200 and the character dies.

So I just ran into my first Shambler. It's a new creature that is sealed away, but can be released by using a torch on the thing it's held in. Quite a shock to find, but it was a fun battle. I even walked away with an Ancestral trinket.
I'm really digging the new content so far. I really can't wait for Red Hook Studios to add in the Cove. I bet the monsters there will be based on Deep Ones.
So were the kickstarter backer class designs yet announced? From the ones by devs the houndmaster is only one missing right?
Noticed these on the wiki, but I'm not sure if those are just fanart some one added to wiki or if those are the backer designed classes. But if they are... Well, yay for first time in while backers not wanting stuff that is completely visually/writing/lore wise game breaking :P (*totallynotreferringtowritingofpillarsofeternitytobackernpcstories*)
Duelist is best fit though, I mean, why would there be basically a fisher in dungeon? .-. Harpoons are for fishing. And Falconer has weird maleficent helmet/cowl thing which is just weird. And dress isn't good dungeon attire xD

I don't see anything there, musta been exactly what you said and the wiki didn't want those.
Aww. I wonder whats up with people mistaking fan art for real stuff and editing that to wiki <_<
So for those of you who have fought the new bosses, what do you think of them?
I only took on the Sonorous Prophet for now, but that was a rather hilarious fight. That gimmick of his, causing a red beam of light to shine on a character, than dropping a huge chunk of rubble for massive damage, was kind of hilarious.
I'm preparing to take on the Flesh boss. Should be interesting.
So I decided to do something utterly brilliant: destroy a Shambler Orb while I could easily end the mission. You can guess how that went. And this AFTER I had spent a ton of gold upgrading the weapons and armor of my Crusader.
Did I mention that despite me having at least 10 hours into the game I never managed to defeat ANY boss (in fact, I never even got to FIGHT any other than the Necromancer Apprentice) because I have this almost pathological need to restart whenever something goes wrong (I can't even play CHESS games because I keep erasing my profile whenever my ELO rating goes down)? Yes, I have issues.
Are you sure you don't want to switch games if that is the case? I mean, this is type of game were things are supposed to go wrong right from the start xD

This is fact. In the past three days, I've lost 4 characters, including a 4 lvl, max geared Crusader (curse you 2nd tier Hag!). On the plus side, I am loving the new classes and bosses. The new protection rules are also absurd when combined with a 60 HP character.
AO 3 profile: goodygoody19^ Wait, what protection rules?
Give me cute or give me...something?I can't recall how it used to work, but basically, the stat Prot for all characters starts at 0 (ignoring quirks of course). If they equip a trinket or use an ability that grants protection, it is given as a percentage. That percentage is of the character's maximum health, and the number that pops out is subtracted from any damaging ability that comes at the character, removing scratch damage.
AO 3 profile: goodygoody19So I've just got this game recently.
I am enamored. Didn't think it's gonna be that fun, if sometimes frustrating due to RNG. Took down three bosses so far - Necromancer Junior, Prophet Junior and Hag Junior - and got two dudes up on level 3.
It... surely consumes a lot of spare time, that game.
grahBleh, a double post.
After some more playing, I can safely say: fuck Shambler. Or rather, fuck Shambler Sycophants that bugger spawns with every of his attacks.
The game itself gets a bit repetitive over a while, but it doens't make it that much boring. Plus, Houndmaster and new features are just around the corner. '3'
grahOh yeah, need to get back to this one now that my PC issue is fixed!
Anyone else amused of how Bounty Hunter gets "come hither" and an uppercut?
Too bad that it's not an effective combination here, unlike the source of inspiration

Coming Up Next!
The Cove will be our next stop along the way to the Darkest Dungeon. You can expect that in late August, just prior to PAX Prime. We remain on track to ship the full game later this year, and thanks to your support and feedback, it's getting better with every update!
Backer-Designed Items, Personalized Heroes, etc...
Design-work for the BGCS (Backer Generated Content System!) is well underway, and we plan on rolling this out to you in August, barring any complications. We can't wait to see what you guys come up with! Also, be on the lookout for more Backer Polls as we roll towards the finish line.
Thank You!
The Houndmaster was a stretch goal that you all made possible! Players everywhere will get to enjoy this new content thanks to your early support of this game. 'Til next time, bring an extra doggie treat, and make sure to check for fleas!

This game is so punishing. It is hard for me to get into it :(
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesGame can be tough early on, it's an Early Game Hell for some. When you start to be able to assemble a good team or it gets easier... You eventually gather a team good enough to clear a dungeon by pure brute force. Don't be afraid of getting rid of some characters since you can easily replace them, why keep someone getting afflicted around if they're not that good for you?
It's not a punishing Rogielike at all since death is kinda cheap and you have reserves.

But. I dont like people in my team dying! IT HURTS ME.
Y U DO DIS 2 ME Y U DIE BECAUSE SOME SKELETON POURED WINE ON YOU.
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesIt was really tempting wine.
Tempting you to die, apparently.
All this Bloodborness going over my head since I don't have a PS 4 and I don't want to spoil it for when I eventually do get the game and play it.
