I started reading this a while and just caught up...oh god, my feels.
I hope Kurumi eventually makes it somehow. (I realized that the first time she went out to find out whether the zombies were reacting to her, she didn't pin up her hair the way she usually does...and in fact, I don't think we've seen her doing it since then. A subtle hint of her current outlook, or am I overthinking it? Although when I looked back through some earlier chapters, she doesn't pin up her hair as often as I thought.)
If you check the latest chapters, Gakkou Gurashi is turning into the manga version of The Walking Dead pretty quickly.
Ch. 43: Well that ended faster than I expected. Here I thought Kougami(?) was going to infect everyone. Instead it seems the "culprit" who infected him is the bigger plot point. Possibly related to Kurumi whose wound seems to not be healing. I wonder if the mention of Sumiko will have any significance
Last point which may just be me reading too much into it, so Sino(?) clutches Kougami's hat at the last page but the last panel in that page zooms in at her hand on her stomach. Similarly at ch 42, she is also seen with her hand on her stomach and one panel zooming in on it. Ch 43 cover page also shows her seemingly in an intimate relationship with Kougami... could she be pregnant?
"If music be the food of love, PLAY ON" - William ShakespeareYep... She indeed seems to be pregnant (notice the little light in the lower abdomen). She probably will be able to hide it for a couple of months, but it may become a problem afterwards. And yet she didn't hesitate for one second when she had to off the (presumed) father... I can't imagine how much that hurt inside.
Also going by Yuki's drawing, we know that Ruu is a teddybear now. Not there was really any doubt about that...

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. The bigger issue here is what of the Defense Committee decides to simply attack our girls out of suspicion? This is DOUBLY to happen when they find out Kurumi's situation.
: Shino may have been the one who infected Kougami. Because...reasons. He refused to take responsibility for the child, maybe? It might possibly explain her reaction to his death, though it's equally well explained by her just having to cope with it.
After all, we do know she regularly goes out to fight zombies, and her weapon of choice is a small piercing weapon...
I doubt the panel of Kurumi's wound was meant to signify that she's infectious...in fact, it's probably a good sign that it seems to be healing, and there aren't any weird effects spreading from the scar. Though she'll probably remain a half-zombie for now at least.
New chapter. Kurumi doesn't look so good.
Also I'm getting the feeling that this plot arc is kinda dragging things down a bit. Maybe it's because back in the high school, especially before Miki, there was largely a distinction between primarily slice of life chapters and primarily plot progression chapters. In the college, it feels like the story is moving at a snail's pace without very much notable development.
What? And the fact that the Defense committee then and there, decided that "Yo, it's their fault, LETS KILL THEM." isn't a big deal? x_x
And yeah, I'm expecting a steadily cascading series of "Oh, fsk" waiting to happen on their departure to Randall.

I'd probably be more invested in recent chapters if the translation wasn't so awkward and didn't muddle the dialogue. Volume raws are easy to find, but by definition they're several chapters behind.
But yeah, the pace is slow, in a "calm before the storm" kind of way. The fact the chapters have become shorter doesn't help.

The implication that one of the girls on the Defense Committee is a bloodthirsty maniac who enjoys watching suffering doesn't help either.
Ohgod. I was so wrong about Kurumi's condition stabilizing. This can't be good. [sad]
I found that implication interesting, but perhaps a bit too unsubtle. I'm wondering if we'll find out if she has some other reasons for it.
Chapter 45 translation's out. All I can say about it is summed up in one word: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
It was odd when the chapter started out like chapter 2.
Interesting thing I learned recently about the uniforms. This is one of many shrouded hints and signs; apparently there were more subtle hint drops than I knew, particularly in the anime.
Yeah, that was a hell of a callback. I was wondering for a bit if I was reading the wrong chapter.
Nooo shovel knight Kurumi can't go out like this. Even if she takes out that guy from the other group it's not worth it.
And yeah, damn, it's really hard to remember these are supposed to be high school students. The moeblob design just makes them look too young.
New chapter guys!
Huh, so she didn't loose control. However, it's now pretty clear she's in a VERY odd state biologically. I mean, ice cold extremities are not a good sign...
Also, nice way of taking that guy out by using the zeds and the fact she is basically invisible to them
A very attention-grabbing chapter 46:
- Megu-nee. Somehow she followed here and consoled Yuki but it's not enough; what Yuki said at the end sounds ominous.
- This got very dark. The explicit view of zombies and the outcome are nothing like the kids' table portrayals in early chapters, where the zombies were a real thing under the surface but it's covered in a more lighthearted veil. The despair was very much in line with a traditional zombie story and in a good way.
Huh… did she really have to go to such extremities to take him out? ò.Ô …Granted, KOing him with a Shovel Strike in the middle of the road would have left him as free zombie food, but still, that was cruel...

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.I just watched the entire {{School-Live!}} anime last night and today. As someone who loves zombie stories and Slice of Life stuff, this series was really facinating to watch. Two of the most unlikely genre's mixed together and yet it somehow works.
I heard the manga is very different though {For one thing I know that in the manga the Dog was just a minor character, whereas in the anime he's one of the main cast, and also that the manga continues on after they get out of the High School}. Might have to check that out too. What's a good place to find the manga at?

They only just started officially releasing it in English. I think I saw volume 2 as the newest, but not sure where that is in the story.
Yeah, if you can get the official releases, go ahead, because the scanlation tl is rather tedious to read.
Anyway, the anime changes the order of some events, adds a few and scraps others. The reveal that Megu-nee is dead happens much earlier in the manga, for example. The anime also has more emphasis on the "light-hearted slice-of-life" aspect, which recedes rather rapidly in the manga − the art gradually becomes more somber too. And indeed, the dog has a more prominent role in the anime.

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Hmm, interesting. I'll have to see if I can find the manga anywhere. I can't say I'm surprised at the manga slowly doing away with the Slice Of Life stuff though, and I'm alright with that. It sounds like a natural progression since the main cast is no longer at the high school where all the lighthearted stuff happend. In fact what little I've heard of the recent manga stuff {IE The group encountering other survivors and a particularly psychotic character being introduced} sounds like it's turning more into the manga equivilent of The Walking Dead.
Gotta admit though, the Mood Whiplash of the anime's opening intro kind of made me laugh when it came to the 11th episode. I mean, going from a serious, dramatic start of the group's Darkest Hour to a cute little quirky intro {Albiet one with zombies and blood} was just a big "What" thing for me, even though I had ovbiously already seen the intro before.
Wow, I only just noticed the chapter update. Aw man, Kurumi. :( I wonder if the story will now start alternating between her POV and the others', or whether she's been put on a bus for now. (There's also the possibility that her issue will be resolved soon, one way or another.)
@Lyendith: I'd say that what she did would be easier (for her), rather than more extreme. She couldn't bring herself to actually attack him, and killed him with an "environmental hazard" instead. Which ended up worse for him, but too bad.
I'm gonna go and read the manga sometime later this week. I'll talk about it once I'm caught up.
Untill then, since there is no English Dub for the anime {And it doesn't seem like one is planned}, which dub actors would any of you like to voice certain characters? I can personally see Lauren Landa voicing Kurumi, as she would not only fit the role but also be able to do great with both Kurumi's quirks and her more serious moments. Not sure who I'd want for the other characters.
So I finally caught up on the manga. Man, it really sucks that Kurumi is very likely going to die. She's my favorite character.
Also, now it seems like we're finally going to get hostile survivors. I'm wondering how The Fallen Crew will do against other humans, especially since the 3 remaining Melee Fight Crew members are all experianced fighters while the only fighter The Fallen Crew has {Kurumi} is either about to die or at the very least has left them.

Ch. 42: Aw, Miki doesn't want to be apart from any of her clubmates.
...After that last panel, she has every right to worry... Funny, I thought there was nothing wrong with that kid(aside from attacking people who were clearly not hostile). I wonder if he got infected in the past and was taking the medicine until it ran out. If not, his resilience was high.
The bottom line: There is a bomb waiting to go off.
