She was clearly lying - for the same reasons she pushed him away the first time. It didn't help that Bruce was getting all "Charles Xavier in X Men First Class" on her.

Bruce was only approaching stalker territory, at least. That's already better than Nygma's method.

This is a signature.

I really liked this last episode. Scenes with the unnecessary kid characters were kept to a minimum. I enjoyed the scene where Penguin got drunk as hell while one of Hanni El Khatib's songs played in the background.

I've got to say, Zsasz being the "resident badass" is wonderful. I'm so used to his "crazy beyond all repair" personality from Arkham Asylum, seeing him all put together, efficienct, and scary, it's mesmerizing. He's Falcone's Ace, yet he hasn't been menacing Gordon or hogging the spotlight. They've been subtle with him. This show can be subtle.

Not sure I care much about Leslie-Gordon (due to their utter lack of a ship name). Not that I cared much about Gordon-Barbara either. Bullock-Fish (Bulletfish?) though? That surprised me. I'm pretty sure she tried to kill him in the first episode, yet Fish is so desperate at this point, Harvey... or maybe this was that "favor" he owed her from that time he came with Alfred. wild mass guessHarvey really is just that loyal to people he owes. That, or they have some past history that... somehow transcends murder attempts, but whatever, the dock scene was cute.

The plot's moving at a ginger pace, but it's moving. The more they begin to push Bruce out and wither Gordon, the better. I really like the way this episode ended because of that. Gordon's reaction to the guy begging for his life was rather awkward, but I get what they were trying to convey and I like it. That's the direction I see Gordon taking.

If I haven't said it before, I miss Liza. sad

I wouldn't call Zsasz standing on a desk in the middle of the precinct, shouting that he's gonna kill Gordon in front of every cop in the city and daring them to act against him 'subtle'.

The irony of Fish's plan failing is that now Falcone is no longer the big softie she accused him of being.

As much as I admire Gordon the guy borders on too dumb to live at times.

Also what was the point of those fighting skills Liza showed in her debut episode if she was never going to use them again.

Well "fighting skills"...she managed to beat down another girl pretty good but I hardly see her as Action Girl per se.

I think it was more to establish her as willing to do that in the first place, to show her willingness to do it, her...well not sure if ambition is the best word...and not establish badass creds.

I don't mean that Bruce was being stalkerish, I mean that Bruce was expressing his affection for her in a way that incredibly patronizing, and unintentionally shoved in her face how much more he had than her.

The latter worked for Xavier in First Class because Mystique really wanted to be there, but it clearly hurt Selena's pride in this situation. But even worse, the former is what really hits hard - in both cases, as a situation is comes off as taking control of her situation for her own good (which for Mystique wasn't enough, and for Selena is too much).

Just caught the episode. Just when I thought Jim had the worst taste in women in this show, Harvey has to do that with Fish. There's No Yay and then there's anything involving her.

Best line of the episode: "Careful Master Bruce. I think this one has the mange."

If this version of Alfred is concerned by Bruce's circle of friends now, imagine what he'll think of the characters Bruce will spend all his time hanging out with as an adult.

Fair point [lol]. Rather, I mean that they don't show Zsasz cutting every episode, using every scene with him to remind us, "oh yeah, this guy's the serial killer whose gimmick is cutting." He actually has respect for Falcone. Makes me want to see what finally breaks him.

I want to know what makes Zsasz and Gilzean so loyal to their respective bosses. Especially Gilzean given he is now a plaything and everything he gave up for Fish....

Very much that. Also:

"How do you think Fish's absence will affect the Maroni/Falcone conflict?"

"Well, knowing this show, we know her absence will last 10 minutes into next week's episode. She will return a new woman, refreshed, army of minions..."

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Just like how Oswald was exiled, then right back on the scene an episode later.

I sometimes get the feeling I'd like this show more if it wasn't based on the Batman franchise. At this point I feel like it's just meandering around because the writers know they can't have all the villains showing up this early but they don't want to do a time skip.

Poor Butch...Queens don't sacrifice for knights, apparently. Nice that she did think of him before she left, though.

It was an episode or so ago, but I dearly loved the Electrocutioner marching to the strains of Johnny Cash's rendition of "God'll Cut You Down."

Stopping a truck with a line of chained up nuns. It's just the right amount of silly evil to make it awesome.

Then Butch getting mildly annoyed with the two drivers after he so politely offered them the choice of getting beaten up or shot (non-fatally) to send a message.

Really, Butch is Crazy Awesome and I love it. He knows he can get away with just about whatever, so he does. I hope he's still alive, though given that we haven't seen a body there's no way he isn't.

For the longest time I was trying to place Electrocutioner's actor....and then IMDB resolved it. He was SCIENCE! obsessed Zor-El. Probably one of my few likeable season-specific characters of Smallville S7.

I hope, unlike in that show, they bring him back here. I rather liked Gruber.

Poor Nygma! I know his advances and gestures are unwanted but he's trying so hard, actually showing signs of learning what's appropriate and what's not(And even with the bullet/cupcake you can see the corners of her mouth turn up in a small smile when he explains what it meant).Thing is instead of being able to take what he's learned and move on (eventually) he's humiliated, his admittedly bad but sincere poetry read out loud to Jerk Jock cops, humiliating him for no real reason.
