Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.done. hopefully they're not too JAFAAC.
I'm not sure, they kinda skirt close to Image Macros for my tastes. I'll hold off on passing final judgment though.

Well most of the images that GIS is pulling up, mostly propaganda, posters, etc are kind of on the macro side...
OK aside from the macro issue.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWell I would have suggested the old standard◊, but it doesn't really symbolize an "evil villainous organization that will kill you if you don't assimilate because RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!" to me, since its connotations of revolutionary freedom...
That, and the description disclaims it anyways.

Actually, the description says that it doesn't necessarily have to be only villains.
I don't see how I missed that, must have been really tired when I wrote this early in the morning.
Guess I'll start looking for a Heroic examples.

The American Revolution snake isn't a threat, though. It's saying "if we states don't join together, we will die". The trope may not have to be about villains, but it is about threats. The last sentence of the article warns not to confuse the trope with Divided We Fall, which uses a different copy of the same cartoon as its page image.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Oh sure I know. ...once I finished reading the whole thing.
Im trying to find something that shows what happens if you don't join, perhaps a comic/manga strip?

Is the third panel of this too far off the trope?
I kind of like it although its a bit more Buy or Die but I like it
Clock is set.

I actually kind of like that caption.
That plus my suggestion works fine for me.
I'll to that!
I approve of @15 as well.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBump; anyone else for the suggested combination?
I know Tropes Are Flexible but I think this might be too distantly related.
How so?
Buy or die isn't join or die.
Yes of course, I'd mentioned it earlier but no one seemed to mind.
Once I read the page quote I thought this was obvious line of possible suggestions; [1]◊ or [2]◊
