This trope doesn't have an image... I think a good one would be one of the so-called world's most difficult road, the Yungas Road.

There are lots of images, but I think the one featured at Wikipedia shows the concept well:

Looks good. On an unrelated note, this trope is desperately example starved.

3.1 is good, although I don't think we can get a better image quality...?

Don't think it fits but it's pretty good for Death Course.

I prefer 3 to 5 because you get to see more of the road. (Ah, so many memories of friends' journeys...)

[up]Yup.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

[up][up][up][up][up][up][up] Edit: For real life examples at least, I found a few good articles of MSN and CNN ranking the top deadliest roads in the world if that helps.

First off I find it ominously funny that I googled "deadly and dangerous pass" and the Yungas road was the first thing that came up.

Also what about image with the travelers teetering on the edge of death just to show the path means business? 1 2, and 3 note

[up][up] What about the highway through a war zone variety?

While I can see "war zone", "very difficult route" is hard to see there.

[up] Agreed; the route itself isn't difficult at all, just potentially dangerous due to outside interference.

[up] Agreed.

[up][up] It's better, but I still lean toward the mountain road.

[up] Is that a motion for a future Quicksand Sucks thread I hope?

Also which mountain road pic? There's tons of good ones. note

[up] Go ahead and make a thread. That quicksand picture is better than the current on that.

This is ready to call. The new pic's up and tagged; caption or no? I was thinking "Rush hour must be a real bitch."

Either works, maybe with a pothole to Pun in the latter case.
