Hadouken!
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. The Independent made an article on Thug Notes, yo.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe
Yaaay! My first page wish came truuuuuuue!
Edit: It actually is really refreshing how freakin' upbeat ol' Sparky is, because this is by far the most positive portrayal of Okonkwo as a character I've seen. Interpreting him as a victim of culture rather than his own hubris.

Catch-22 is my favorite non-speculative fiction book of all time. Loved his analysis.
For anyone else interested, if you're antsy about what the next Thug Notes will cover, Sparky Sweets' official Twitter drops a few quotes from said book around 3-4 days before the video gets uploaded. Seems that the upcoming one will be Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton
I've heard lots of bad stuff concerning the book, especially how the protagonist is as unlikable as the ones from Catcher In The Rye and A Separate Peace so fingers crossed they can make the analysis enjoyable somehow.
inb4 why couldn't it be James Joyce ;____;

As above poster said:
Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton
Holy fuck is that a depressing story. And holy hell are these characters dumb.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I think a lot of this depression stems from Values Dissonance, though. I mean, given how Sparky mentions that a key conflict in the story is society's expectations vs. our personal goals, I can only presume divorce was either non-existent or looked harshly upon.
Actually I don't even think this is depressing, just straight up Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy from how I couldn't give a damn about any of the main characters.
Alright people, who's ready for tomorrow and some Samuel Clemens.?
Twilight By Stephanie Meyer NOT!!!!!!
DAMMIT!
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I WAS RIGHT
Really wish he had actually tried to analyze Twilight.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."So Bella's just whack about this shiny sparkly homeboy. It's so bad, when busts out on her, tellin' her she ain't worth shit to him, she be tryn' to kill herself just to hallucinate seeing him again. But when he hears about it and reckons she actually be dead, he's the one trying to literally flash an entire plaza of tourist with his nekkid ass, just to get some other vampires to grind him to pebbles. Teenagers, man.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Sweet fake thumbnail
On that note, I want to see him try to analyse The Sheik, just to see what he comes up with for that trainwreck of a novel.
I'm having to learn to pay the priceI was actually kind of hoping that he'd do an actual satirical analysis of Twilight.
Darn it Sparky Sweets, why you gotta change the thumbnail already?
Eh, it was still a good prank.
On actual analysis: Good, now that Twain's done, anytime we can get Joyce now? PLEEEASE
Oh, I thought it was going to be about some other book coincidentally titled Twilight.
Mind Screw to the max with this week's Thug Notes:
